OMG I have a wart! I've never had a wart before in my life! And it's on my index finger of my left hand and my wedding is in three weeks!

Curt had some "DuoFilm" wart stuff in the medicine cabinet that I'm using (although I think it's *really* old and I need to get new stuff!!)
It burns like hell and it's ugly and gross and I'm freaking out that it won't be gone, or atleast fully healed by the wedding!

Uck... :(

please help!! If you've had them, what do you use to get rid of them...how long does it take??

Since your wedding is coming up I would call the Doctor and see what they suggest, so you don't waste time with something that may not work.

Yeah-since your wedding is coming up so soon, definitely see a dr about getting it removed; if you had longer to mess around with it, you could do one of those little bandaid-type wart removal patches that erodes away the wart in a couple weeks or so.

I had a wart on my thumb a couple years ago and used one of those things. It was gross-it turned all the skin around the wart white and it started peeling away. I told hubby I was never using one of those things again, it was just gross! And it started to smell after a few days b/c you have to leave it on (think old bandaid medicated-type smell-sorry if TMI). Next time (if there is a next time) I'll get it frozen off by a dr.

I had a really bad wart breakout when I was in the 7th grade. I had them everywhere! At first, the doctor burned them, but they all just came back. Then he froze them off and I have not had a wart since (and that must have been about 15 or 16 years ago.) I would definitely recommend it...

call your doc- they can freeze or burn them off in the office- and should be pretty much healed by the wedding.

Don't laugh...
try to massage the wart amd the finger around. Massage it pretty vigoursly and every so often....my mom told me about this "magical man" who would rub your warts (story from her childhood) and they would fall off once he rubbed them....I thought well heck, i will try that. I massaged a wart I had in HS and he fell of a few days later, it was very strange, kinda left a a hole (like a crater were it fell off) and never had one since (the hole was just temporary)

I have been plagued with warts off and on for most of my life. I find that those band aid things, while gross, do work. Also, Compound W works very well and isn't nearly as offensive as the bandaid things. I would do one of those first. Getting them frozen off at the doctor has never worked for me. It usually kills off a small portion of the wart and then I'm still left with the remainder. I guess maybe I get really big warts though. If yours is small, maybe frezzing would work...

Forgive me if I'm hijacking, but I have one on my index finger (also first one ever), and I bought some of the Dr. Scholls Freeze Away wart remover, and once I opened the package it said not to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and I'm breastfeeding. Anyone know if it really is not safe while breastfeeding, or does it just say that for liability reasons?
