DH and I are talking about getting a piece of equipment for cardio. We have space in our master bedroom for either a treadmill, eliptical machine, or a stationary bike. We can't decide which we want. Here is my reasoning on the three and I welcome and pros and cons you all may have that I haven't thought of yet.

Treadmill:
- Good way for me to get back into running without suffering through the Texas heat we are having right now.
- If/when I get pg, I can continue walking especially in the winter when it gets dark so early.
- DH is probably more likely to use a treadmill than other equipment.

Eliptical:
- I like the low-impact exercise while burning lots of calories.
- I never get tired of doing this machine.
- If pg, could have balancing problems on it? Don't know...never been pg.
- DH has done cardio on these before, but not regularly.

Bike:
- The best my legs have ever looked was when I took spinning classes regularly.
- Depending on the style we get, could be uncomfortable while pg.
- Without the music and instructor in the spinning classes, I lose interest on the bike sometimes.
- DH would like this one, too.

What do you all think? Additional pros and cons? If you have one of these, how often do you use it? Was it a good investment? Recommendations on brands?

Thanks!

You may want to consider NordicTrack Tread Climber. It combines a treadmill, stair climber and elliptical. I don't own one myself, but I am saving for one!!

The advertisements look fantastic and although some people have complained about having problems setting it up, I think that is a minor annoyance.

Good Luck with your decision!

edited to add...I don't work for NordicTrack or anything...I just like this product :p

We have the Vision Elliptical Trainer and I LOVE it!!!

I also have a cheapy treadmill, but I do not use it! I walk 4 miles a day outside, and then jump on the elliptical at night every other day. The elliptical was the only cardio machine I used at the gym, so I decided not to renew my gym membership and invest in the eliptical! :D I love the fact that you can be on it for less time as a treadmill, but burn just as many calories! That was a plus for me since I do not have much time to exercise at home with a 17 month old! ;)

Here is the website for Vision Fitness (http://www.visionfitness.com) if you wanted to do some research/comparing! :D

Good luck!!
