:) :) :) Me too! I'm a Penn State fan. (sorry Michigan gals)

Big game next week with Notre Dame that I'm feeling much better about after ND rolled over for GTech today.

This is going to be a wild season for everyone!

Appalachian State Class of '97 here.

You don't even know how excited I am today! :D Michigan totally underestimated ASU. They've won back to back 1-AA National Championships, and they have an awesome team again this year. We have season tickets - I can't wait to go to the game next week!

I root for BC and anyone playing ND :). My Eagles won today, but it was pretty nervewracking (and the first 90 seconds were AWFUL... 2 turnovers resulting in TDs for Wake Forest). Then at the end of the game, an official went down. It wasn't clear what had happened (he got hit by a WF player, but may have already been on the way down), but he wasn't moving and was carried out on a backboard. He is apparently ok, but it really changed how important winning the game seemed.

Next week...NC State, coached by our former coach who left for a conference rival and let his players find out via the newspaper. Klassy. At least we know his game plan...win the toss, elect to defer, and when finally on offense, run it up the middle.

I'm an Ohio State fan and was at the game yesterday. The cheer that erupted at the end of the Michigan game was almost louder than any cheer during our game! :)

Huge Michigan fan here, and man that was depressing to say the least. It wasn't quite as bad as when TCU knocked off my Sooners at home 2 years ago (so glad that we ended up not going to that game after all!), but man it sucked.

But at least my Sooners came though and killed poor North Texas! Bradford looked amazing, I think he was the right choice for starting QB. Patrick is going to have a tough time keeping his starting RB position though, as Murray was amazing! We may have another AD on our hands here. :D

Today was the hottest game I can remember in about the last 8 years. Miserable. But at least we won :). I am home from the game/tailgate, have showered, and may go to bed in the next 5 minutes. I don't know how all of you down south handle the regular 95 degree/muggy tailgates and games. Give me the snow any day!

I'm loving these first two Michigan games!! :D As an Indiana girl (yeah, we don't have a great football program), I always pull for Michigan to lose! :)

The Texas A&M game was something else! Since moving to Texas I've become much more of a Longhorn fan than an A&M fan, so I was pulling for Fresno St (plus I love David Carr who played for them)...too bad they missed that last 2pt conversion... :(

I wasn't at the Florida/Tennessee game this weekend, however I was at the inaugural University of Central Florida game in their new home stadium. I didn't go to UCF, but I am a "geographic" fan since I live in Orlando. It was so much fun to be at the first game...to be a part of the college football spirit and atmosphere. He came so close to salvaging the Big 12 Championship game that Chris worked so hard to completely and totally f*#( up. Major props to him. A great guy and a great player. Because we actually have some talent this year - but no one is going to give us any credit until we beat OU or Texas. Its not our fault that they're not on our regular season schedule this year - whoever split up when the North teams play which South teams screwed that up.

Apparently he was. He was a first round draft pick and led several Super Bowl teams winning MVP in one of them. RE: Phil Simms- When he was drafted by the Giants you could have heard the boos all the way across the country. However, he turned out to be a great, gritty player for the Giants. He was fortunate enough though to have a great supporting cast in lawrence Taylor, Joe Morris etc. But we still love Phil up in these parts for the Super Bowls he brought to the Giants!

I can't believe all of the upsets this year. My Buckeyes are now number 1, and that makes me nervous. Hopefully we can keep on winning.

It disappoints me though the lack of respect Ohio State and the Big Ten get in general though. Kentucky can beat LSU and thats just a sign of how tough the SEC is, yet when Iowa beats Illinois, it is because the Big Ten has crappy teams. And what is up with USF being number 1 in all of the computer polls? They are a completely overrated team.

Some of my family are huge Nebraska fans and they were telling us that staff were quitting left and right before they even fired the AD and brought Osbourne back. So who knows what's really going on, but it's a mess. I personally think Callahan is a terrible recruiter and can't quite understand the point of hiring him in the first place, but it's not like I really want Nebraska to be good, either, so they should keep him as far as I'm concerned. ;) :D

I'm so flipping tired of my team's inconsistencies this year. K-State had that awesome win over Texas, then we lose to KU (which is completely unacceptable) and Oklahoma State. I know everyone said their offense is really talented, but I'm still cheesed off. :(

Don't know if there are any other University of Miami fans...but I was soooo thrilled to beat FSU on Saturday (I had a bet with the guy I'm seeing.) Randy Shannon is going to clean up that program. Even if you don't like the Canes, he is awesome. I don't know if anyone reads SI but there was a great article on him called Hiding in Plain Sight (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/ncaa/09/04/shannon0910/index.html). I hadn't known four of his family members died of AIDS and he used sports to get out of one of the worst areas of Miami. Thank goodness they replaced Coker with this man! I always laugh about the cell phone thing too when they make jokes about it on TV. It's worth a read.

I did my grad work at University of South Florida, and that was a TOUGH loss to Rutgers the other day. I know I am biased, but it was a bad call by the ref on that illegal forward pass. Puuuhlease! So though I'm a Cane fan first, GO BULLS!!!!!!

Yeah ya did. Man, we were at that game and it was A-W-F-U-L. The team was so fired up in the first half and played pretty well. I don't know what Callahan said to them during half time but he knocked the wind right out of their sails. When they came back in the 3rd they were just dead out there. It was bad. Callahan is SO fired. I only wish Osborne hadn't said he wouldn't fire him in the middle of the season.

Good thing they are playing Texas this week. I'll have a winning team to cheer for. I promised I'd cheer for Nebraska but screw that. If they don't believe in themselves, I don't believe in them. I wanted to cheer for my Horns anyway so - Go Horns!

*In other words, I still hate the Aggies.* :p

But I will say one thing, they are SO nice. We went to A&M last season and they were super nice, even after we won. This year the people who came to Nebraska were also very friendly.

That's so good to hear that there are still some sportsman-like fans in college football. When DH was in the LSU band, he got spit on by the fans at Alabama. When my cousin was visiting his girlfriend at Auburn last year, he had to hide his LSU parking tag, for fear of his car getting damaged. I get the rivalries, but, it's only football.

Because we actually have some talent this year - but no one is going to give us any credit until we beat OU or Texas. Its not our fault that they're not on our regular season schedule this year - whoever split up when the North teams play which South teams screwed that up.

I'm taking back the somehow in what I wrote now for sure. I got to watch a game finally, and holy crap, y'all are awesome! Definitely getting respect from me. :D

I'm torn, as I hope we make it to the Big 12 championship, but if KU makes it, I really want them to win, as Mangino needs a championship there! Blargh!

I can't believe we eaked out a win Saturday!

t3h_wookiee - thanks! :D This weekend will be a good test for us as we haven't faced a really good run offense. I think the national TV exposure is helping us get past some of the pessimists.

See, this is what I don't get. We're nice to everyone. People rush our field (a war memorial) and yet we still have good sportsmanship. People are rude and throw things and say F**K the Aggies on ABC and yet we're still nice. Why do people hate us? Is it because we're not a school full of pricks and bitches?

I have several friends in the Aggie band who've had cars damaged when they were parked in Austin. If I recall, they now take buses to prevent the vandalism of student cars.

Apparently all of their wins are worthless. Have you seen the BCS rankings? LSU is number 1 in the computer rankings (BC is 2 and OSU is 3). How can a one loss team be ranked higher than a no loss team? Not that I think LSU is a bad team. I think they are very good and I wouldn't mind seeing a OSU/LSU championship game.

We're just entering the tough part of our schedule, and while we're starting to recover from the injury epidemic, I'm curious to see how it shakes out for us. I'm really looking forward to this week!

I think it's safe to say that USC is well represented in the hater department. polkadot, I think you're right that it's a matter of perspective. I'd love to see that for LSU. It seems as if there's an inverse relationship between amount of LSU gear and attendance/graduation from the school. I'd venture to guess that a lot of the people with the most stuff haven't even been to Baton Rouge! I spent 7 years up there and own maybe 2 tshirts.

We went to the Nebraska/Mizzou game a few weeks ago in Columbus. Rudest.people.ever. I'm not kidding. We rented a car just in case it got vandalized. A relative of ours parked in a lot and the students rushed his car and started shaking it so he moved to another lot! People yelled the most disgusting things at us. A little kid even told us we sucked! They were selling shirts with Calvin pissing on Nebraska. They also had "F*ck Nebraska and the horse they rode in on" shirts. I was like what the hell man. These people are so rude.

I don't get it. They didn't even beat Nebraska until recently. I don't know why they have to be so disgusting about finally winning.

There's a fine art to whooping. If you do it wrong, it's really irritating. My step-dad, who is a diehard Baylor fan, does it wrong to bug me. There's also a time and place for a well practiced whoop...I can't stand idiots that do it all the time. Can't remember the last time I whooped outside of a game or College Station...except for teaching Aidan how to do it properly. She even does her hands right. My little 4th generation Aggie! :)

if you looked at a list of "who's who in professional football" money down schools like USC, NotreDame, Michigan, have a lock...

but it also goes in cycles, for some years, a certain school will not fare so well, tehn a nice recruiting class comes around and BAM, they're "good" again!!

and ITA on the "it's just football" thougts a few pages back! i had one cal bears fan talkin sh!t to me the yesterday after we lost to oregon... telling me "USC aint sh!t, your Pac10 dynasty is crumbling , etc etc" and im like - "look nerdball - i'm just here to root for my team - everyone here is rooting for their own team (the bar was full of gators fans, aurburn fans, illinois fans, vols fans - not just california teams)" then he says well, 'bama aint sh!t, lsu aint sh!t, blah blah blah, like this guy was really getting mroe and mroe aggressive not just to me but to the other patrons there... so finally one of the bartenders asked him to leave b/c after it's all said and done - its supposed to be fun...

~~after week 10 - there are still 5 teams in the BCS top 25 who are undefeated:
ohio state, boston, hawaii, kansas and arizona state... but there's still alot of football to be played!

Well the BC game last night was miserable on many levels (hurricane burst winds, freezing, rain, and oh, they played really poorly as well). The run at the championship was fun while it lasted, but was never really going to happen. Now if we can hang on and win the ACC (or first, our division!) that will be as much as we could ever have really hoped for.

No need to apologize--your team has some great athletes, and they played well last night. If they play like that every week they'll be the "old" Florida State (and of course I hate them :), but that doesn't take away from last night's good win).

That game was miserable wasn't it? DH and I wimped out and gave our tickets away since DH was getting over pneumonia so we decided it was wise to stay home. What a disappointment!

And the last team to beat BC at home was Florida State like 2 years ago.

This wasn't supposed to be our year anyway. Our first goal is always the outright Big Ten championship, which is still in our control. Not that the game didn't suck big time - huge props to Illinios for keeping the ball the final 8 minutes of the game, but it's Michigan week now. Nothing else matters - GO BUCKS!

The scary part is that we're only losing 2 starters next year - 1 on the O-line and 1 on defense.

And the great thing about the Big Ten on Saturday is that we now have 10 of 11 teams bowl eligible. How's that for a supposed sucky conference?

Exactly! I'm so sick of everyone saying how weak the Big 10 is. I'm thinking OSU should whip Michigan, we had no problem with them! :)

I think it's safe to say that USC is well represented in the hater department. polkadot, I think you're right that it's a matter of perspective. You hear unfair bias towards USC, and while I do understand that, I hear that LSU is the best thing since sliced bread and I have to stop my eyes from rolling right out of my head every time I hear someone say that LSU (and the entire SEC) knows how to play real football. um, okay

TOTALLY!! i just loooove college football in general - but i do have to say that the PAC10 teams have theeeeee fastest guys out there. we may not have the large 250+pound linesmen, but check out Keegan Herring from ASU or Jonathan Stewart from Oregon and Chauncey Washington from SC...

i dont think anything is "really" decided by the polls - i mean a 10-0 team who doesnt haev the same strength of scheudle as an 9-2 team = how do you decide?? b/c money down (and im not trying to offend any fans here) if oregon ducks played kansas jayhawks, um PAC10 is coming away with that W

Nah, I'd have to disagree with that. I'm not a Jayhawk fan, but they'd beat the Ducks, especially with Dixon being out now. And OU would smash them. ;)

I, too, want a playoff system.

For the record, if LSU wins the season out, then I hope my Sooners lose. I for one do not care to go play in the National Championship when it'd be a home game for LSU. That would suck, again. No thanks! I'd rather just go to the Rose Bowl and beat up on another Pac 10 team. ;) Not really wanting the Fiesta Bowl this year either. lol

Why do so many people insist on trashing the Big 12? To me that just shows that you're only a fan of your conference, not of good football. KU is good this year. *Really* good. And I'm a K-State fan, so it nearly kills me every time I say it. ;) :D Mangino is an awesome coach. I'd put that team up against a lot of good teams and give them the edge.

I was so bummed that Oregon lost last night. So much for the Pac-10 representing in the national championship. :(

lawyerlee, I don't ever get the chance to watch KU, but I agree that 10-0 is no accident! As for a theoretical Oregon-KU match-up - it sounds like Dixon is probably out for the rest of the season, which is a real bummer. I'd find it hard to take the Ducks in a top 10 match-up without him. Before that, I would have taken them against all of you guys!

You think so, t3h_wookiee? It will take some finagling, (we win out, Oregon loses again) but I'm hoping the Trojans make it to the Rose Bowl. And I'd be okay with a repeat of our last meeting. :D ;)

with all the talk about this conference and that conference I am just going to say this....i believe that each conference thinks theirs is the toughest....and that being said strength of schedule and style points and all the other things that go in to figuring out the BCS crap is what we are left with. I for one think it was a bunch of BS what happen in 2003 when LSU and USC where co-national champions.....BS...i tell you...we had the crystal ball...thats all I'm saying...I dont know how they could do a playoff system but thats not for me to figure out...

as far as this season goes...I think that this will be known as the year of the upset....i think every major team has had an upset...and yes i agree that Kansas has a great team but how many ranked teams have they played? When you look at a team that is undefeated you have to look at who they have played, if its fluff school then they should be undefeated...ok. but i am not expecting Kansas to be undefeated at the end of the year and if i have to eat crow at the end of the season they are and we see them in the National Championship....so be it.. and as far as LSU playing in the National Championship in N.O. being a home game, that shouldnt matter, its about football not the hometeam advantage...and ..getting a ticket to that game is like winning the lottery...it aint easy...ok..i am going off on a tangent...i gotta stop...sorry if this is coming off mean I just love football and I get kinda fired up :o

I dont know if there will ever be a playoff...probably not...until then we will be here debating this topic...until then....

Oh, and stupid question...are there lights at Michigan stadium? We couldn't figure out why that would be a noon game.

Aimee
11-18-2007, 11:02 AM
I wouldn't exactly call LSU playing in the Superdome a "home field advantage". For one thing, the Dome is Astroturf and Tiger Stadium is grass. H was in Tiger Band at LSU and they'd occasionally march at Saints games. He said that the turf was a lot "stickier" and hard to move on in comparison to grass. Plus, NOLA != Baton Rouge.

It really sucks for the hotels and tourism in NOLA when LSU plays in the Sugar Bowl. It's really better when there are two out of state teams playing. It's just happened to work out this way.

Not a stupid question. The Big House does have lights, but The Game is traditionally played at noon. Last year's meeting (when it was #1 vs. #2 in Columbus) was a night game due to the tv schedule/media hype, and it's my understanding that the coaches agreed not to do that again this year.

Hawaii's strength of schedule is nowhere near that of Kansas. They might be undefeated but they couldn't hold up against these really hard teams. Heck, my university's football team is 10-0 but you put them up against someone like Kansas, Texas, OU etc...and they'd crumble. Being undefeated doesn't necessarily mean you're national champion quality.

Kansas had the "easy" half of the Big XII South this year -- OSU, A&M and Baylor. As much as I love the Big XII North, we weren't really all that difficult either. The only ranked team KU beat was K-State when K-State was #24. KU - Mizzou will be a great game to watch!

Even if Kansas started out weak, they've ended strong. Every week isn't going to be against an amazing team. But you still just can't compare them to the teams Hawaii has been playing. Hawaii just has no really strong teams to compete against.

I actually feel bad for Hawaii. We watched their game the other night and there was a lot of talk about why their strength of schedule is so bad. Apparently no one wants to travel there to play them! I can't remember who the team was now but someone actually paid 250 grand to get out of their game with Hawaii this season because they didn't want to travel. It was one of the better teams, too. Unfortunately, I don't think they have much of a chance of improving their schedule when no one wants to travel all the way to play them. I don't think it helps that they are playing well this year - who wants to travel all that way to possibly lose?

It kind of sucks that teams can pay to get out of games. If it's on the schedule they should play or forfeit.

Oh yeah, and I am hoping that Kansas beats Mizzou. Those fans are assholes and I want to see their team get massacred.

Don't get me wrong, I think Kansas has been playing some amazing football, and most of the teams they played haven't been *bad*, but they also weren't tested against OU or Texas. Really? I thought that was pretty normal.

I've never heard a team NOT boo the others as they took the field.

And it's super lame but Nebraska fans booed their own team a few times this season.

I don't really like booing the other team, I never do. But booing your own team...ugh. People forget these are just college kids.

So my Mavs choked. They were up 17 - 7 with 2:30 left in the 4th. They let the other team run a kick back 100 yards so it was 17 - 14. Then, they threw an interception about 20 yards away from the end zone so the other team scored again but missed the field goal. Now it was 17 - 20. All they have to do is kick a field goal and they are in range but the quarterback throws a horrible pass that's picked off. Game over.

There goes the perfect season. :(

and the eye i was speaking of was in the middle of our field....as in our "eye of the tiger", if we came and defeated you and then stomped all over your mascot in the middle of your field...NOT COOL....

But things are looking up....TN just beat Kentucky in 4 OT...and we have a very good chance of beating them in the SEC championship next Saturday night...so all is not lost in Tigerland.....no, we arent going to win the national championship but we are going to win in the Toughest Conference in the Country and I am not going to argue that anymore. I'm feeling good about the SC-ucla game next week, which is good since that's a whole week of trash-talking to make it through. ;) I'm surrounded by bruins at work.

Sorry about that; I forget where I read that The Big House had lights. I've never been there at night. However, as a proud Ohio State alum, I can say with certainty that the Horseshoe does not have lights. Last year for the Michigan game and two years ago for Texas, there were temporary lights set up in the stands and on the field. It's unusual for Ohio State to play a night game in the Shoe for that reason.

I'll give you that one-- I experienced that game for the first time this year, and was surprised by the level of anger in the stands. Do you know anything about the tortilla tossing? I'm not sure what the deal is with that.

They're just angry because they all have STD's. Or at least that's the word in Texas. LOL :p

Hmm, maybe it just varies by state/team. I have never heard booing for the opposing teams at any of the AR games I have been to. Just...dead silence!

I do think booing your own team is tacky. This is your team, people! Though I have been known to cuss out my own players in the comfort of my own home ;)

I know nobody knows me here but I've been following this thread because I love college football, particularly KU (I have family on the team). And I'm not enjoying this game either ... but even if it doesn't turn out the way we KU fans want it to, that team was still amazing this year and they accomplished something no other team in their school history has accomplished. Not that anyone cares but I just wanted to say. It's still awesome to come from last year where KU lost so many games in the fourth quarter to this year and have the season they have had. I still love KU!

KU still had an unbelievable season and they arent going to drop that much...they didint loose to someone who wasnt unranked like other teams did....and they will get to a good bowl game too..they should be proud of what they accomplished this season...

I don't know about that, they only played two ranked teams and lost to one. For sure they'll get to a good bowl game, but I'm not sure how far they'll drop. I think they'll still be in the top 10 for sure, but how close to number one will depend upon next week as two of the top five teams play then. Still an impressive season for sure though, and one that fans can be proud of. :D

We're over here watching and waiting to see how the stars align for OSU. :) Rose Bowl for sure, which is a great bowl.

I think it's just a "creative" way to harass the opposing team. Really bad sportsmanship IMHO.

I'm excited to see how the Missouri/Oklahoma match up plays out next week. I would ordinarily pick OU hands down, but Chase Daniel really showed what he's about last night. If it comes down to coaching I can't see Mizzou winning. Otherwise, they have just as good a chance, I think.

This season was such a pathetic bust for my team. We couldn't even win six freaking games. Ridiculous.

Yes, now that I've had a chance to sleep away my sorrows 11-1 is an amazing season for a "basketball school" and as much as it pains me I'll be cheering for Mizzou next week against OU. We need a north team to win the Big 12. KU should still get a really good bowl and we only lose 5 starting seniors so who knows what next year will bring. :D

I heard lots of booing in CS! :) The fans were really nice otherwise though so it didn't matter. I did think the "beat the hell outta..." signs were kind of weird.
Yeah, the "Beat the hell" pass-back hand sign is a tad on the obscene side. We love it though. ;)

Tech throws tortillas as a way to "intimidate" the opposing team. I've always thought it was because of Tortilla Flats, because Lubbock is so freakin' flat but that may just be in my mind. They don't do it as much now because Big 12 officials penalize the team for the tortillas on the field. Tech fans really are classless though, even with out the tortillas. At an A&M game a few years back they won on their own field and then the fans rushed the field, tore down the goal posts and then tried to throw the goal posts in the A&M section. Klassy.

They're just angry because they all have STD's. Or at least that's the word in Texas. LOL :p
I always thought it was because the Tech kids couldn't get into A&M or Texas, that's why they're so angry. That and the fact that Lubbock is the world's most boring city. They go to college in a friggin' DRY county for pete's sake!

A&M fans may be classy in general, but I'm still bitter that they did the "beat the hell out of t.u." cheer the year of the bonfire collapse. We cancelled our Hex Rally, had a prayer vigil and donated blood, etc. and A&M said they wouldn't do that cheer but then decided to anyway. It just struck me as extremely unnecessary that year.

That being said....looks like A&M has a new coach. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5328187.html

Wow, that was quick!

Speaking of quick, I got this in an email yesterday and I thought it was funny. It's to the tune of Winter Wonderland.

We sing are you listenin
From Rozier to Glissman
A beautiful sight we're happy tonight
Watchin NU without Callahan

Gone away are the Boo Birds
Here to stay only good words
We sing the fight song as we go along
Watchin NU without Callahan

On the field we can hire a new man
Then pretend he is Parson Ron Brown
He'll say "Are you winning?" We'll say "No man!"
But you can do the job when you're in town

And later on we'll conspire
On who else we can fire
To face unafraid, the hire we made
Watchin NU without Callahan

When we win, won't it be thrillin
Even though it cost us millions
We'll frolic and play the NEBRASKA way
Watchin NU without Callahan
Watchin NU without Callahan

Hopefully, Mizzou won't have the 4 TO's they did against Oklahoma the last time they played each other... and will pull out the victory. It certainly is time the Big XII North showed the Big XII South that they don't rule the conference. It'd also be nice to show the country how good the Big XII really is.

As a missouri fan/alumna, I still CANNOT believe they're #1 in the BCS. Call it the eternal Mizzou fan in me but it just seems surreal.

I never heard that we wouldn't do "Beat the hell". I do know that we didn't sing the verse in the War Hymn about Texas, we sang the original second verse twice. They even passed out lyrics on our way into Kyle Field that year.

Ugh, I CANNOT believe they hired Sherman. Does Bill Byrne not watch the Texans? They suck big hairy ass. Can't wait for an exciting season next year.

ETA: Big XII is the best conference in the nation. I'll be rooting for Mizzou as well, even if I am a Big XII South (Former Southwest Conference) girl...I hate Bob Stoops and want to see his stupid visor get knocked off. ;)

Another Alumni here, I still cannot believe we are number one. I atended Mizzou when Corby Jones was the quaterback, I was excited because we made it to the the Del Taco bowl ( ok not really the bowl name ). I would have never thought we could be national champs. M I Z Z O U

Call me a bad person but I am loving this season! WVU lost, Mizzou looks like they're on their way to a loss...you just never know what's going to happen! I love it!

It hurts my heart to say this, but I think OU is just better than Mizzou. I'm cheering for them this ONE TIME. But never again. :)

Man the BC/V. Tech game was sooooo disappointing. BC just didn't want it badly enough, fools - it's the ticket to the Orange Bowl! My theory is that the seniors didn't want to get injured...typical BC fashion, loose the big game and end up in the TOILET Bowl. :(

ETA: bookworm did you go to the game? I guess I don't need to worry about finding a sitter for DD to go to the Orange Bowl :(

ETA: bookworm did you go to the game? I guess I don't need to worry about finding a sitter for DD to go to the Orange Bowl :(

I did--just got home (beat the snow, fortunately). SO disappointing. We outplayed them in the first half, couldn't score, then just imploded in the 2nd half (to be fair, they made some good defensive changes). Overall the Hokie fans were really nice--gracious winners (and were nice enough to say we were gracious losers...I didn't say it was b/c we've had so much practice). They brought a TON of people. We probably had 10-12k from BC, which I think is really impressive, but was apparently very disappointing to the businesses in Jacksonville. Whatever...we're not a big state school, and that isn't going to change!

So I'm glad I went, it was fun (I went with my family and some old family friends), but I am so disappointed to not be going to Miami. I'm not sure I want to go to Orlando, but my mom is lobbying for another family trip for Christmas. We'll see.
