I am hoping for a Cubs v. Red Sox World Series this year. It would be so fun to have a series played in Fenway Park and Wrigley Field!
Who are you hoping to see in the Series this year?

Well, I am a Phillies fan and want to see them go! I think I would like to see them up against the Clevland Indians. I like the Indians as well, but not as much as the Phils and the Indians have not been for a while. So I vote
Indians vs. Phillies
If it is not them, I would love to see the Cubs go! I would like to see them up against the Padres. So, my second choice is:
Cubs vs. Padres

I live near Cleveland, so of course I'm a major Indians fan. DH and I watched them beat Oakland today and it was awesome. They clinched the Central AL division champs-which they haven't done since 2001. I'm hoping they go all the way-but we're going to run into the Red Sox and/or Yankees at some point and that's scary.
I vote for Indians vs. anyone!

DH and I love the Phils as well. I'd love to see them go. I was a college sophomore in 1993 when they went. My school was in the Philly burbs and we had a great time.

I would LOVE to see the Phillies win. Have been a Philly fan and have been going to games since I was 5 years old. I'm so nervous right now and hate that it has come down to the last game! We went last night to the game and it was so amazing!! It felt like a pennant race! I also remember 1993, it was an incredible experience! Go Phils!

Phillies all the way, baby!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously - I am just so happy that the Phillies clinched the NL East, and that we are going to the playoffs. It's been 14 years . It was an awesome feeling to call my 87 year old grandfather, a life long fan, who was so happy he was crying. Totally made my day :)

Yippeee Phillies! I am sooo freaking excited!!! We were lucky enough to have gone to the game Friday night and it really felt like a playoff game. The crowd was just amazing, I was almost in tears! Trying my hardest right now to get tickets to one of the NLDS games!!!

Unbelievable that they are now not even making the playoffs.
However, I'm a Yankees fan, so I want to see: Yankee's vs. Anyone!!!
Our new TV is being delivered tomorrow, just in time for the playoffs! I see some late nights in my future :D.

I'm so excited! I'm feeling pretty good about the Yankees. Whatever will I do until Thursday's game? It's so weird to not have a game to watch for three nights in a row!

Ahh... The difference between Yankees and Red Sox fans. We don't bother making fun of other teams because, well, no one has nearly as many championships so it's pointless. ;)

I should clarify so I don't look like a Red Sox hater (whether or not I am)...
I hate when I hear booing against any team (even those I don't like) or making fun of any other team. Because I think my team is so great, I don't need to do that. Just root for your own team and call it a day. Why bother with the "So&so sucks!" chants?
GO YANKEES!

Because it's fun to do it. :D Fairly off topic, but still dealing with sports, one of my favorite moments at a college football game was when my Sooners stomped Oklahoma State after their coach made some stupid comment. In the 4th quarter the entire student section started chanting "Worse than Baylor!". You could hear it clearly on the tv, it was awesome! Baylor, unfortunately, is at the bottom of the Big 12 when it comes to football. Man that was a blast. :D
Back on topic, Go Cubbies!!! :D I can't believe we managed to salvage the season and make it after all! We were doing our best to stay home yet again, but we pulled it off. :D

So agree. And I'm a Mets fan...so agreeing with a Yanks fan is not the norm in these parts! :)
I stopped going to Mets/Yanks games bc I couldnt deal with all of the fans (from both teams) chanting Yankees suck...Mets suck... it was like I was in
5th grade. just grow up!

I root FOR my team much more that I root AGAINST the other. Of course, it's easy to be gracious when you are so very, very, very successful! ;->

I didn't mean to offend.
Here, it's the norm among our group of friends (some who are Sox fans some who are Yanks fans) to throw "Yankees suck," "Red Sox suck" comments back and forth to each other, all in good fun. Obviously, neither team sucks, seeing how they're both in the post season.

Oh no worries! I'm a New Yorker... Takes a lot more for me to be offended. ;)
It's my little pet peeve that I have even with Yankee fans. I really, really hated when our fans booed A-Rod last year. I hate when some of them yell that any other team sucks. Just my thing.

Oh and the smack talking has begun already! ;)
I'd really like to see a Red Sox v. Cubs World Series. Seems like the sentiment would be all pro-Cubs since they haven't won in ages... but I'd still have to root for my Sox. It'd be great to see the Cubs make it to the World Series, though.

I'm a Yankees fan, but that is the one thing that drives me nuts about Yankees fans. They are SO quick to boo their own guys if they are in a slump! Drives me nuts.
I'm so ready for the playoffs to start. We got our new TV yesterday and it's going to be awesome!

It's not just Yankees fans. Philadelphia fans do it constantly. Abreu is a case in point. Towards the end of his time in Philly, there was a big uprising that he played with no heart.
I mean, criminy...I live in a town where fans insult different sports! It's very commonplace to go to a Phillies game and hear the Eagles chant when the Phils are down.

Last year, pretty much the majority of the season. Remember he wasn't "clutch" then like Derek. This year the fans have done a complete 180 and go crazy for him, chanting "MVP" all the time. I like the new positive stuff but I'd just rather fans not be so fair weather.
Good luck to everybody playing today! May everyone stay healthy and strong.

Thats how it is around here too. My DH has many friends who are Yankee fans and they are always doing stuff like this. Its not mean spirited. One day, DH came out of work to find his car with Yankee decals and magnets all over it. He put big red X's all over them and put them on his friends car the next day. You will always hear "Yankees suck" or "Red Sox suck" when they are talking. They even text message it when the games where on. Its all fun.
I would like to see Red Sox versus anyone, but Red Sox vs. the Cubs would be nice to see Fenway Park and Wrigley Field.

Still hoping for a Red Sox v. Cubs series, but I'll be rooting for the Cubs. I once saw a real live Cubs game (at Wrigley) and it was magical! Someday maybe I will get to see a Sox game at Fenway! Nothing beats seeing baseball in a REAL baseball park!
