Just wondering where you got/bought your flower petals for the flower girls! I need some leads.

Thanks!

We recently used flower petals to decorate tables at my parents' 30th anniversary party. We just bought a dozen roses from the grocery store and peeled them.

My florist included rose petals for the aisle and tossing in our floral package. They weren't expensive.

Also, many florists will sell you bags of rose petals. You can call a couple of places near you and see what they'll charge.

My florist just added them in with the flower delivery. We weren't even planning to use them and had never discussed it with her.

Just wanted to add - at my florist, asking for a mix of colors was the least expensive option. If you wanted a single "traditional" color, it was slightly more expensive. And if you were like me and using the petals on tables and asking specifically for jade roses, it gets a little more expensive. But even then, it was very, very reasonable.

you should also check with high-end grocery stores like Central Market...I got 13 gallons of rose petals for something like $30...they were great.

We did freeze dried rose petals over fresh for several reasons:
1) We could get samples and order ahead to make sure we got the exact colors we wanted.
2) They mixed the colors in the proportions we requested.
3) No staining table cloths or wilting like fresh ones
4) Our florist was 2 blocks from the church (no delivery charge for flowers to the church, but would have a $50 to deliver petal to our reception about 10 miles away)

We got them from petal garden (www.petalgarden.com). They were beautiful and our reception hall and guests thought they were the coolest thing ever. The company was great to work with. DH say they were offering a new color that might look better than one of the colors we picked 2 weeks before our wedding. They overnighted us a sample with our previous mix of colors and with the new pink replacing one of the colors and changed our order with no charge.

Wow! That was SUPER nice of her!

Well, I ended up ordering my flowers from freshroses.com. I ordered petals from them as well. The "mixed" color bags were much, much less expensive than all one color, and that is what I decided to go with. The mixed colors will look fine since my "aisle" is a brick walkway in a garden.

You got an AWESOME price! I did not check with any high-end grocery stores since I live in such a small town. Good to know though. I can pass this info on to other friends of mine who will be getting married in the future.

It sounds like you found a company with fantastic customer service! I'm all for supporting great service, its sooo hard to find! I did look into freeze dried petals, but it was cost prohibitive for my particular situation. Since our ceremony is in a garden, regular flower petals are fine.
