It's Survivor time again! This time, the show takes place in China. I have to say, I'm really excited about the setting and think it'll be great to see a different environment for the contestants.

Show Info

Premieres Thursday, September 20, 8pm et/pt

The reality show that started it all continues to raise the bar with its exotic locations and high-risk challenges on SURVIVOR: CHINA. The new competition unleashes an eclectic group of castaways on the ancient south central province of Jiang Xi, where they are prepared for adventure, danger and surprises in the hopes of winning $1 million and becoming the ultimate Survivor. The Game

The following text from Survivor Sucks (http://survivorsucks.yuku.com/topic/14098) gives some information about the rules in this edition of Survivor. I'm putting this in white in case anyone doesn't want to know even the littlest detail before the show begins!

SURVIVOR: CHINA will feature a cast of 16 Americans who will begin the series amid the bustle of downtown Shanghai before moving to HuangPu Mountain's Mi Tuo Temple for a Buddhist ceremony where they will be instructed to leave all of their worldly possessions behind. The castaways will then be marooned with the clothes on their back at two separate islands on Zhelin Lake (translation: the Land of 1,000 Lakes) located in the Jiangxi Province. They will split into two tribes, Fei Long (translation: Flying Dragon) and Zhan Hu (translation: Fighting Tiger), and will each be given a copy of Sun Tzu's The Art of War for tribe motivation and assistance throughout the game.

SURVIVOR: CHINA will once again afford each tribe the opportunity to obtain a Hidden Immunity Idol which may save someone from elimination at a future Tribal Council. This time, two Hidden Immunity Idols will be in plain sight (one at each camp), although the castaways will not realize this at the start of the game. Each week, the winning tribe of the Reward Challenge will be allowed to kidnap someone from the losing tribe. The person who is kidnapped will receive a note from host Jeff Probst before departing for the enemy camp and will be instructed to give it to one member of the enemy tribe (the kidnapped victim will decide who receives it) in private. The clue will inform this person of the Hidden Immunity Idol located somewhere at their camp. This person must then decide if they wish to share the information with their tribe or keep it to themselves. The kidnapped victim will return to their original tribe at the following Immunity Challenge.

Who's up for Fantasy Survivor this season? Anyone want to get a league started?

(Jiangxi information from travelchinaguide.com (http://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/jiangxi/))

If you are a traveler looking for a place that will give you a variety of interesting options, then Jiangxi province in southern China is definitely the place for you! The pristine beauty of its misty mountains and fresh water lakes will enchant you. Its modern as well as ancient Chinese historical sites will whet your appetite for learning about its culture.

Jiangxi has a warm and humid climate with cold springs and winters, hot summers and dry autumns thus accounting for its four distinct seasons. Jiangxi province is a showcase for natural beauty. Tourists will find it hard to leave its beautiful mountains, lakes and rivers. Particularly attractive is Poyang Lake, which is not only the biggest fresh water lake in China, but also the largest winter habitat for white cranes. When winter approaches, about 2800 white cranes will migrate to Poyang Lake to spend their winter.

The highlight of Jiangxi travel should be Jingdezhen, which is known as the 'Capital of Porcelain' in China. Ceramics were produced here as early as 1,800 years ago in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Today, Jingdezhen remains a national center for porcelain production. While in this ancient town, tourists can visit many pottery factories and ancient kiln sites. In addition, Jiangxi is one of the ancient tea-producing areas in China. The Black Tea produced in Ningzhou City and the Green Tea produced in Wuyuan City are well-known throughout China.

The Wuyi Mountains (Chinese: 武夷山; Pinyin: Wǔyí Shān) are a mountain range located at the prefecture Nanping, at the northern border of Fujian province with Jiangxi province, China.

The TV Guide Channel is doing a Survivor: China preview. I'm sure they'll repeat it constantly if you're interested.

The area where the game is taking place is BEAUTIFUL!! It's all lakes and trees-- so pretty. They're also talking about how they're going to involve a lot of Chinese culture in the show.

What they're saying about the contestants (in white, in case anyone would consider these spoilers)

They're describing Dave as someone who would get on your nerves.
Probst says he thinks Sherea will go home early, that she won't be able to deal with the game.
Amanda is the pageant girl and she's saying she hates the girls who think they can get by on their looks and she wants to compete
Probst doesn't think Jean-Robert has the goods to win, but could last until later in the game

More contestant info (in white):

Chicken reveals that his ex-wife was sleeping with his father. EEEK! There's some more talk about how he's had a hard life.
Mike aka Frosti is the youngest player ever. Probst thinks he's physically a great contender and that he could last a while. Probst says if Frosti lasts till a merge he could be a threat to win
Leslie is the Christian radio host. Probst says he doesn't think she'll be first out, but doesn't seem more confident than that.
Todd is the gay Mormon. He says people will underestimate him because he's small physically. Probst says he's good at developing relationships and may be around for a while.

ETA: More contestant info:

They're hinting at a possible show romance, possibly between Erik and Jamie?
Probst says Courtney has an acerbic wit and people might interpret that as rude or bitchy.
Probst says Erik is a question mark in terms of playing the game but that he's a romantic and girls will like him.
Jamie is described as a sheltered Southern girl who describes herself as flirty. Probst says he doesn't have a lot of faith that she'll last.
Aaron says the metal game will be harder than the physical. Probst descibes him as very fit and a threat if he makes the merge.
Probst descibes Peih-Gee (pronouced "PEE-GEE") as toxic and irritating and says it'll be really hard for her to win the game.
Ashley is described as having really funky style. She says she worries that people won't want her to win because she's already on a TV show.
Probst thinks Denise (the lunch lady) might be made fun of but if she lasts will be a fan favorite.
James is described as being the most physically fit Survivor contestant ever. Probst thinks he'll do well and could be a leader.

YAY for a new season! Cool location, interesting people... I'm excited. :D

Okay, that one tribe is just doomed. Seriously, NO ONE can make a freaking decision-- and then when Peih-Gee starts trying to get something going they complain that she's too bossy and want to vote her out. They're dancing when they have no shelter or fire. HELLO? They are so lame that I predict they will be Pagong-d in short order.

The other tribe has lots of interesting folks. I agree on the James hotness factor 100%. Wow! However, I wish someone would muzzle Courtney and all her stupid "I hate people like that" whining. Overall, that tribe seems smarter and more focused. I bet they keep winning for now.

He's pretty hot! I loved the way he announced what he does for a living.

I think they made a mistake sending Chicken home. He wasn't giving input because when he did, they didn't listen. If they continue to send the stronger players home, they're going to get picked off each week. Either Ashley or PG should have gone.

Love that they had to abandon their suitcases and go with what they had on. When you are on Survivor, from the minute you step on the plane, you should anticipate this and wear what you would want to be stranded in. Having to wear your underwear for 30+ days can't be that comfy. The girl without the bra...good luck!

I have Jean-Paul (the professional poker player) in my work pool -from the previews next week they are trying to make it sound like he gpoes home. I home not.

James.....*sigh* - they better keep him around for a while. We haven't had some nice eye candy in a while.

Courtney is a complete b****. Too bad she couldn't have gone home.

Have none of these people ever watched survivor? You have to be prepared at every minute to start the game. They did give everyone sneakers though it seems like. And some of the guys seemed to be prepared in the fact that they were wearing dark colored tight boxer shorts (whatever they are called) instead of tighty whities.

I always feel bad when the oldest person goes home the first week. The older people seem to go first or go very far.

recent seasons have been sort of hit/miss w/me, but i am psyched for this location! it already looks SO wet and muggy there. ick.

i think james is SO sweet! a sweet, shy guy who happens to be HOT and have a body from H E LL! i hope he comes out of his shell, i found his shyness very endearing.

and how could ANY of these people be foolish enough to NOT wear more outdoorsy clothes on their first day. they basically make EVERY season ditch their belongings, hello?

I found it odd that Leslie said she wasn't religious but she bows for no one but Jesus Christ. Um, what is it then if it's not relgious? I did find her treatment towards James quite endearing, helping him and supporting him, but maybe she just thinks he's hot like the rest of us. I found his personality to be endearing too - although it may be the hotness seeping through my brain.

Oh, and after how many seasons, contestants should know they can't bring suitcases full of stuff and it is very likely they'll be going in the clothes they are wearing. I'd like one survivor to actually be prepared. Out of a group of women wearing dresses, for example, I'd respect the woman dressed in shorts, athletic bikini swimsuit top, t shirt, sweatshirt and sneakers. Even if she does look out of place in the picture.

I have to figure that the show told them to dress up or to dress a certain way for the Buddhist ceremony. Otherwise it would make absolutely no sense that they were all dressed so inappropriately for the Survivor part.

I wouldn't have wanted to participate in the ceremony, either. I just don't feel comfortable taking part in religous ceremonies of any kind.

And, ohmy, gravedigger is sooooooooo hot. And nice, too! Lovin' him!

In the spirit of Bill Maher's "New Rules", here are a few helpful rules for future Survivor contestants. (Although honestly, you think they'd know this stuff by now!)

1. From the moment you get on a plane to fly to the Survivor set, wear only what you would actually like to be wearing while stranded. Ladies, this includes a bra. Things to avoid: heels, Armani anything, suit jackets.

2. Upon landing on your beach, the FIRST thing you should do is begin building a shelter. Immediately. If you don't have a sheltered place to sleep when the sun goes down, you're in trouble.

3. When you first hear that you are going to be on Survivor, get on the internet and look up the myriad of different ways you can start a fire in the wilderness. If you can start that fire before Probst gives you flint, you'll look pretty darn valuable to your tribesmates.

Anyone else got some?

Do they not watch the show?
I think some of them don't, or they're just really dense. Look at Courtney. She thought she was going to be stranded in China with a group of her friends? And someone (can't remember who) last night was complaining because they weren't outdoorsy.

AMEN!! You'd think after 10 seasons, people would atleast know this one!

to add:

-When you get the phone call that you are a contestant on "Survivor", immediately watch every episode of Les Stroud's "Survivorman" (http://science.discovery.com/convergence/survivorman/survivorman.html)

-Do not be the passive agressive know-it-all. Do not boss people around, but when people ask your opinion, give it. Shame shame chicken man!

I've got one for those going on Survivor:

Learn to swim if you don't know how.

Hit the gym every day and start lifting some weights

Try cutting back on food so you get used to feeling hungry

I'd never make it on that show! I'd get as far as the top of the stairs with my luggage and need a cocktail! Oh yeah, quit drinking when you get the call and cut out your morning coffee, too. Yikes. No wonder they all say it's harder than they thought. I'm getting antsy just thinking about it ;)

We knew within 5 1/2 seconds Chicken was so out of there. It feels like older contestants are almost always targeted first, paritcularly if they get mouthy or on a young team. Doesn't it seem like most of the contestants are really young this season?

When DH keeps rewinding the DVR to watch Chicken go "DAMN" when he gets voted out--friggin hilarious! Makes us proud to be Virginians!

Adding to the list of what you should do if selected for Survivor..

-If you smoke, quit or drastically cut down so you don't spend your entire time there trying to work through withdrawl symptoms.

-Hit the elliptical, treadmill, or cardiovascular machine of your choice at least 4-5 days a week to build up endurance and stamina. Not sure if I would lift weights though, muscle requires more calories to maintain and there sure aren't enough calories to be had when you are a castaway!

-Women should find a bathing suit that is flattering and durable. There are at least two women prancing around in underwear and bras on this season's show, and one (Denise) wearing some kind of horrific ...thing that I can't figure out what the hell it is! Don't pack the damn suit in your suitcase either, WEAR IT under your clothes so you have it when you are dumped out of your boat or whatever with no warning. (see next item below for further instructions)

-If the production crew tells you to dress up for a promotional photoshoot or whatnot, assume that today is the day that you will begin the game instead, and dress accordingly!! (ummm...your clothing choices for the day should not include giant, ugly, clunky boots that weigh 20 pounds each and fishnet stockings. WTH was that girl thinking?? Survivor should not be your opportunity to make some kind of odd fashion statement)

Finally got to watch this weeks episode. I'm sorry, but they were rude to the Chinese people. Courtney, can I smack you now? What a stupid little bitch who obviously has no respect for anyone. And Mama Christian, not even sure what her name is, you weren't bowing down to anyone, you were being welcomed into a new country, have a little respect for your guests and their customs. Ok, rant over, so far! :D

I love the grave digger..."I bury people". What a body!!

Chicken, too bossy, then too quiet (stupid??). The former model guy is kinda hot, but he's in for a mess with that team. Wrestler girl, what were you thinking, and "PG", that kinda cracked me up, but how else would you know how to spell it. She was way too bossy though.

I will say I like the red team, I think they'll go much further than the yellow team. I love the locale, its nice to see a wonderful country that I'd love to visit but doubt I'll ever get there.

I agree with everyone else, what the heck were any of those women thinking when they came on the show. Everyone knows you get stuck in whatever you're wearing, wear a sports bra, or at least a bra! Wear your swimsuit under your clothes if you have too. This is going to be very interesting when the women's summery/flowy dresses start to fall apart early on. Lots of blurred tv I think! :p

Can't wait for next week.

So true! Don't know what they were thinking. I would have had the best sports bra, running shorts that I could find underneath my clothes along with the best running shoes. Shame on them for not doing their research!

4. I would also add learning the basics around fishing (you know that is the main reason Richard/season 1 remained on the island for as long as he did).

Seriously. What's up with people not knowing how to swim? They have to know there will be a challenge or two that involves swimming. Or it could be like one of the seasons where they had to jump ship right from the beginning and swim to their team's raft.

I'm finding Survivor pretty boring so far.

I think the wrestler girl made a mistake by not trying to rally votes *before* tribal. Everyone has their mind made up by then and no one wants to risk changing their vote unless they know they have numbers. You don't want to be the lone vote out.

ETA - I wish they would give them some clothes! I tired of seeing them all in their boxer briefs and lacy panties. Too much!

Well, the Zhan Hu tribe continues to be a total disaster. Dave = worst leader ever. He's not so much a leader as a dictator!

You know what, Dave? The priority should probably be to have the tribe eat before a challenge, rather than carrying heavy stones around and wearing themselves out. Also, you might possibly want to send some people out into the jungle to look for fruit or something else to tide them over. You're going to have a total mutiny on your hands if you don't start considering the wants/needs of others, particularly when they're starving.

Oh, and it's also clear that the Zhan Hu camp has a flooding issue, so perhaps thinking about some way to deal with that would be productive. I just can't believe what a mess their site is!

Over at the other camp... I love the Amanda/ Todd alliance. I like people who think about the game and strategize, and they seem to know what they're doing.

The players are not really good at strategizing. I miss Rob C. and Boston Rob.
Oh, I think once we see more of Amanda and Todd, we'll get some good strategy moments. Right now the cameras seem to be too busy with the disaster that is Zhan Hu, though.

Jean-Robert, perhaps you have never watched this show before. Never once has anyone won Survivor by employing a strategy of laziness and pissing off tribe members. Your days are numbered.

Fei Long is thinking merge. Leslie did herself in after she was kidnapped by telling her tribe how there were 3 Christians in Zhan Hu. They think she'll turn. Courtney, as much as she annoyed me with the crying last night, probably won't win a lot of challenges. Especially if her effort/ability in last night's was any show of what she is capable of. I'm tired of Jean-Robert and am SO happy that Jeff Probst called him out when he tried to say he didn't say they were weak.

The woman with the mullet is Denise. She's a lunch lady. That's about all I know. There are some people flying rather low on the radar and she's definitely one of them.

Courtney scares me..she already resembles Skeletor; what in the world is she going to look like if she stays for a long time? Is it possible for her to get any thinner and continue to compete? She seems so weak to me already.

I am of the opinion that Denise is going to go far in the game. Just a guess. I also think that James' tribe will eventually try to vote him out because of his sheer strength becoming a threat to them. They won't want him to make it to the merge when they compete individually. Thats too bad because I really like him. Even if he was dumb enough to talk strategy without first making sure nobody else was in earshot.

She was an obvious choice to go last night. I'd still like to see Jean-Robert gone, though. He BUGS! However, he is important in challenges for now.

It was funny to see Dave pulling a Richard Hatch and going naked in the challenge. Didn't work for him at all, though. That guy's days are numbered.

What tribe talks about physical threats during the first time they have to vote someone off. Right now it is all about keeping the strong ones on your team so you can get to the merge with as many tribe members as possible. Okay, maybe closer to the merge you pick off a strong person or 2 so they won't be a personal threat to you once it goes to individual immunity. I really feel that they have picked people who haven't seen Survivor, ever....but I guess I say that almost every season. But really, I think Courtney has lived locked up some where (I was going to say a cave, but it is obvious she isn't an outdoorsy person) and she seems to have so few social skills.

Dave has ZERO self-awareness. Modest? A good leader? Huh?

I actually think they made the right call--they need S for the female challenges/match-ups--Dave worked around camp, sure, but he didn't offer anything in the challenges, and the other guys are stronger. S goes next anyway--the other 4 seem pretty tight.

Totally agreed. Sherea's on her way out next, but in the meantime she's useful in challenges. Many of the challenges thus far have been women vs. women and men vs. men and Sherea can hold her own with the other women. I was SUPER irritated by all her eye rolling and pretending she was contributing around camp during tribal council, though.

Dave = whack job. I'm glad he's gone.

Frosti/ Erik/ Jamie/ P.G. seem to be a pretty tight foursome. If they can start winning some challenges and go into the merge with four, they might be able to hold their own. I'm not holding my breath, though. I think they'll go in down in numbers and get bounced one by one.

Erik + Jamie romance... awww, sweet. However, I did have to rewind to make sure I heard him correctly when he said "I'm a virgin." Wonder what the story is there? Not really a spoiler but in white anyway: I read somewhere that Erik & Jamie are dating in real life now.

Jamie and PG acted like 5 year olds. It's one thing to throw a challenge for strategic purposes. It's another to giggle and be deliberately disrespectful of other team members. Well, James IS right about them. They're not going to last till the end.

Yes I was actually happy that James spoke his mind. For a moment there I thought he'd just tell Jeff that he's quitting over exasperation. I wonder when do they start collecting the jury. I hope James is there if those sorry ass witches are one of the last two standing. I hope he lays into them.

Have any of those two dumb gals thought that if you win the challenge, you'd automatically make someone from the other side go home? I know that was PG's strategy - saying that they were outnumbered in a merge but wouldn't it be better to beat the crap out of the other team in challenges rather than sink your own team?

I don't agree with it. I thought those two were jr high idiots. Shame on that other guy (Jaime's purported boyfriend) for going along w/ that crap. Those gals were outnumbered. If that guy built an alliance w/ James & Aaron, PG would be going bye bye. BTW, I don't think PG would be the last one standing since that guy is in love with Jaime. So her scheming would be for naught.

After last night I've totally lost respect for that team. I'm voting for the other side. I hope next week the other team wins and they kidnap James back. He can tell them what they did and then when they merge, the other team will pick those idiots apart.

I was thinking James could just tell the other team what happened and then they can also try to throw the next challenge to get Frosti or Sherea out. That would be funny - two teams trying to throw the challenge.

I thought maybe the show would mix it up by having the new players on the team be immune or something when they got to tribal council, but no. It was a lame "twist."

I think they usually merge the teams when there are 10 players left. Am I remembering correctly?

Zhan Hu really can't guarantee that they'll be able to get rid of James next week. From the previews, it looks like they have an eating challenge coming up, and those aren't quite so easy to throw. What if Erik refuses to help throw a challenge? And what if James is sent back to his original tribe? What if he finds the immunity idol? What if, what if?

Even if James DOES go home next week, Zhan Hu is silly to assume that Sherea is going to rejoin their alliance at some point. She's never really been a part of their foursome. I predict that next week is the final pre-merge elimination. Then, the tribes merge the following week and the four Zhan Hu members are picked off one by one.

Yup. Sherea is the black horse. I think she's going to make friends over at the other team and there's no guarantee that she's going to swing PG & Friends way since they never really liked her to begin with.

I do hope James gets kidnapped and he goes and tells them what the deal is. It would be an interesting merger!

They can throw the food challenge if Jaime all of the sudden decides to chew 1000 x's per bite. That is of course, you can't do that when "mentally" you don't want that crap in your mouth so you'll down it fast.

Before the switch though, James was cracking me up talking about the lunch lady. When he said that if she were a bit younger or he older, she'd be in trouble...I was rolling. I have a lot of respect for him admiring her work ethic and thus finding her attractive. Too cute, but funny.

I agree that Sherea sealed her own fate last night by shooting off at the mouth so randomly. Why does she loathe John Robert so intensely? It kind of seems like she was just feeding off Courtney's hatred for him, and it rang kind of hollow because of that. If she'd kept her mouth shut I think she might have stayed. Instead, she sounded like a crazy lady with an attitude problem!

I really like Denise, randomly. Hope she goes far. Todd is a crafty one, though he and Amanda really fell down on things by being so stupidly obvious about looking for the idol. Could they really not wait until it was less noticeable?

I like James and am hoping he goes far!

Okay, so looking at the previews for next week, I'm hard-pressed to figure out WHO ends up with the hidden immunity idol at the other camp?? Is it James or not? I thought it was, but then they showed Eric and Jamie looking at it. Did they find it in James' things or did they get to it first?

Zhan Hu is quite possibly the dumbest team in Survivor history. I positively loathe them all. (except for James of course, who isn't really a Zhan Hu member!)

I think the other idol that is found next week isn't really an idol. If you watch the previews, it looks like the HII, but it doesn't have the writing on the back of it like the one James has. I'm hoping that Jaime, PG and Virgin boy think they have found the HII and try to use it at TC only to be told by Jeff that all they have is a pice of wood.

I love James more every week. He seems to be such a nice guy and he's not back to look at when showering!

Last night's episode was SO interesting!

I'm glad Sherea went home. I wish they could have sent Courtney packing, too. I think those two bonded over the fact that they're both b*tches who like to sit around and complain a lot. Ick.

If I was Todd, Amanda or Denise and I saw the 4th member of my alliance (Courtney) wavering on her commitment and causing dissention among the alliance so early in the game, I'd be seriously concerned. There's a good plan in the works (boot a member of the opposing tribe for the sake of numbers) but Courtney wants to book a member of their own tribe simply because she doesn't like him? What a dummy.

I do think that Todd and Amanda made two big mistakes this week: (1) Not being more subtle about their search for the idol and (2) Being too open about their plans for James, thus revealing themselves to be the team's puppetmasters. However, I think Todd is going to be in control of this game for a good while to come.

Here's the TV Guide blurb on next week's episode:

Thursday, November 1, 8pm et/pt

What is a true friend? This is the question some Castaways try to answer in a heated argument about loyalty. The fierce hunt for Hidden Immunity Idols continues, as private property is violated and one Castaway falsely believes three Idols are in play. Later the tribes merge, and one Castaway torn between two alliances holds a lot of power--literally. In one of the most surprising Tribal Councils yet, one Castaway feels invincible and makes a shocking revelation.

Courtney aka Gwen Steffani light really needs to shut up. She's by far the weakest player on that team (she sits out on more challenges than any one I remember). Well, yeah, JR isn't a prince but you need him to win the challenges up to the merge.

Sherea was just insane. She should have kept her yap shut.

Man, I had another BAD week at Fantasy Survivor. I thought for sure Courtney was going to turn and vote off Jean Robert! I'm glad she didn't because I'm rooting for Todd's alliance, but it really hurt me on points.

Courtney needs to STFU. I can't stand her. Sadly, I think that Jean Robert is right and she's going to be around for a long time.

Jamie playing that non-idol was priceless.

Interesting that Frosti continued to vote with Todd's alliance, even now that his Zhan Hu team has merged. I wonder if he's really changed sides or if he's just temporarily aligning himself with the dominant team to save his butt.

Voting out James next week is not a smart move, Todd. Yes, he's an individual threat-- but you need to keep your numbers strong. James is on your side. Not to mention, you can't win if you piss off every single person on the jury.

I'll post this in white below just in case someone hasn't watched yet....I'll un-white it after the discussion gets going here. :)

It was Jaime who was voted out. OMG, it was priceless....

she played what she thought was an immunity idol, and it WASN'T!! :D

Good riddance to her. She was going on and on at the end about how James wasn't 'trustworthy' - yet who was the little bitch who went rifling through James' bag looking for the damn thing? Ehh....

I agree with other PP's about Todd - I really think he is 'overthinking' his strategy, and it will bite him in the ass eventually.

Okay, who has the smilie that falls over laughing?? I know I've seen it around here before and that was TOTALLY me last night during tribal council!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Seriously, she's the dumbest player in Survivor history. Here's the thing that iced the cake for me. She had James' bag open, had the friggin' real idols in her hand and didn't bother to actually LOOK at them?? Hello? Anyone home in that ditzy brain? I was chewing my nails off waiting for tribal council, thinking that she might have made a play by taking one of the real idols and replacing it with the blank one. Oh, wait, that would be what a smart player would do! :p Holy crap. I'm just in shock over her stupidity. Definitely one of the best.moments.ever.in Survivor history!!

BTW..just wondering what would have happened if that scenario really had played out? Would she really have been allowed to play that idol, or would Jeff had made her give it back to James as she stole it from him to begin with?

I don't think they are allowed to steal the HII, so if Jaime had looked at the actual idol and taken one, she probably wouldn't have been allowed to use it. Of course I can't find anything to verify this, but I know I've read it somewhere.

I was reading on another board that the idol cannot be stolen from someone. Also, if someone decides to give it to another person (ala Yau Man - to this day, this still rankles that he got robbed), it must be done in front of the camera. So it could be that Jamie knew she couldn't swap it.

Also, it could be that she just felt up the idols hidden in James' pants (that sounds gross doesn't it) but was too nervous to actually unwrap it and take a looksee for fear that James will come back. You know what they say, if you're doing something wrong, you'll always have nervous guilt.

Gawd. TC just made me laugh sooo hard. Jamie is Jessie Simpson lite (irony fairy was ringing really hard during her interview). I like James. He tells it like it is (especially his advice to JR).

Courtney/Gwen Steffani lite is getting on my nerves. Quit whining. Really, she is the weakest player on that bunch. She should go.

PG - poor stupid clueless PG. As much as she thinks she's smart, she didn't see Jamie/Eric turning on her (notice they didn't share that info on the fake idol).

Todd-He better no get rid of James. The nerve. I think the group will turn on him though because there seems to be a lot of respect for James. If Todd does do a number on James, I can't wait for the jury epi if Todd manages to be in the final two. James will rip him up (JR will probably too).

PG is on my last nerve and Todd is quickly working his way there too. Both of them think they are such good game players and I have a feeling it will back fire on them both.

I like Todd, but he's so open about playing the game. He needs to be more subtle. I think what will happen is that he'll make it all the way to the end, and then the jury will vote for whoever else is in the final 2 with him because they're angry at Todd. Just like what happened in All-Stars-- Boston Rob manipulated the whole game and then the jury voted for Amber because they'd been burned by Rob. I personally hate this and think the money should go to the person who played the game best, not necessarily the person who was the nicest about it. Like Richard Hatch. He was a jerk, but he deserved to win.

I'm still trying to figure out how PG and Jaime thought James would be in any sort of alliance with them. What morons.

Total morons. If they wanted to bring James into their alliance, they should have been NICE to him and not made him bust his butt in a challenge while they sat back and laughed.

As much as I like James, Todd & co. did miss a golden opportunity to vote him out now. It'll be harder later with those idols. I wouldn't be surprised if James plays those idols at every tribal council now, just in case.

So relieved to finally see J.R. go. It was pretty amusing watching him get all excited about the idol though (The American Immunity Idol, ha!).

You know, I dont like Courtney, but I felt a weird sort of... affection for her when she won immunity. I have no idea. I wont be sad when shes voted off.

Why didn't they tell Denise what was up? I did feel bad for her. I predict Denise will confront Todd & Co., and find out that they were planning to blindside James - and probably Denise would then give that info to James. Those two seem to get along well, I could see her forging a 'new' alliance with him - separate from Todd, who is going CRAZY with overthinking strategy lately.

Jean-Robert *is* a tool with his empty threats. "You'll regret this." I think J-R had this idea that once he got on the jury, he'd 'sway' everyone to vote the way he wants. Dude, nobody likes you! They didn't listen to you at camp, they sure as hell won't listen to you on the jury.

Courtney is NOT looking well at all...I mean, she was gaunt to begin with, now she looks like she's been through a famine - and really, it's only day 24. I'd guess her to weigh less than 90 pounds. Impressive how she stayed on that barrel, though.

I may be the last one to know about this.... did you guys know that they're doing another All-Star season of Survivor? Supposedly it'll either be next season (in Palau) or the following season. I guess it'd be players from some of the later seasons that weren't eligible for the first all-stars. There's also a rumor that there'll be a tribe of all-stars vs. a tribe of new contestants. Interesting!

Just one of the many lists of people who would supposedly be on the all-stars episode (in white, because there are some players from this season mentioned and that may mean they go far):

Supposedly confirmed for all-stars:
Johnny Fairplay (season 7)

Jonathan (13)

I *loved* the last all-star season. In fact, it's my favorite season of Survivor aside from the first season. I thought it was really exciting to see a group of people who were very skilled at the game duke it out. However... I don't know that anyone cares as much about the players from later seasons as they did about the early players- Richard, Tina, etc. Honestly, when looking at the names I couldn't even remember who some of those people were- and if an obsessive Survivor fan like me can't remember them, why should your average viewer?

I also was dismayed to see Johnny Fairplay on the list. What a turnoff. And I do remember that Probst quote, so hopefully this is bogus.

All-stars vs. new contestants would be fun though, only because I'd be really curious to see if the newbies could win it. No one thought Rob would win the first all-stars, right?

I guess I mean that you never know WHO will do well the second time around. I would have thought Rob C. and Richard would manipulate the game and they were both out fairly early. It's different when you're in an all-stars situation and the other players know you and how you work.

However, from the Todd/Amanda/Courtney alliance's POV, it was a smart move. Frosti was very likeable and good at challenges. He was more of a true threat than Eric.

I'm still wondering what the "more business to attend to tonight" is all about. They didn't give us any hints in next week's preview. Do they have to boot a second person right away at tribal?! I didn't notice anyone missing in the preview, I don't think.

Is there a link to info about the upcoming All-Stars Survivor?

Nothing official, but I read some discussion about the potential all-star episode here (http://www.survivorskills.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=96;t=5435), here (http://survivorsucks.yuku.com/topic/18707/t/ASS2-Confirmator.html) and here (http://survivorsucks.yuku.com/topic/2905/t/Next-Season-is-ASS-2.html?page=118).

I'll be so curious to see what actually happens with this!

I felt bad for Frosti too. But it made sense to get rid of at this point.

What an interesting twist at the immunity challenge: eat or play. James was tearing that food up. LOL! He was so funny at tribal council when he said that when he saw the food, his first thought was "attack".

Can't wait to see what happens next week. I was thinking maybe they had to vote someone else off, but Jeff made a big deal about saying you are not going back to your camp. Maybe they are making a detour. If so, where? Why?

eta: Oh, maybe they are going to have another immunity challenge right away.

I felt bad for Frosti, I liked him.

DH noticed in the preview that James appeared to be very clean shaven while this week he looked scruffy. I wonder if they are piecing stuff together or if they win a reward that includes showering etc.

DH noticed the SAME thing. Wonder what that's all about.

I was sad to see Frosti go....but it made sense.

Gosh I like Frosti a lot. I admire his spunk and his athleticism. I was soo sad to see him go. :(

I wonder what the tiff is between Todd & James. Anyway, James better play those idols for all they're worth. Something tells me that Todd is gunning for him next.

I know a lot of people like Todd but I don't see the charm at all. He's a mean spirited twerp (all those side bar confessionals about hating everyone drives me nuts!).

Todd is so hyper and paranoid, and Amanda is totally manipulating him to be the one who gets his hands dirty so she doesn't have to. If they are in the finals, I bet Todd is watching at home and screaming curse words loudly and longly.

INTERVIEW: Michael "Frosti" Zernow talks about 'Survivor: China' (http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/interview-michael-frosti-zernow-talks-about-survivor-china-6115.php)

Gee, you mean Frosti, isn't his real name? Great interview. He sounds like a neat person (too bad he got voted out! :( )!

I gotta say, brilliant strategy move by Amanda. I liked James an awful lot, personally- but in terms of the game, that was a really smart move. If they'd let him get even a little further, he would have won the whole game. Goodbye, James. I will miss your rock hard abs and your incessant talk of apples.

How freaking COOL was that reward? Wow, that would have been an amazing experience. It was great that all three of them seemed to be truly appreciating it and taking in every moment.

NOOOOOOOOOO! :( I will miss gazing at James, that is for sure. He looked like he was going to go in his bag for the idol, too (unless that was just some clever editing).

James could have won the whole thing, had he stayed. Now, I think it'll come down to Amanda & Todd for the final two.

I can't believe he left holding TWO immunity idols! It wasn't very smart for him to trust them. He should have played them, better safe than sorry. I was screaming at the T.V. trying to urge him to play one but he didn't listen... I was hoping that he would play the immunity idol and then Todd would go home. That would have been funny.

James rolled the dice too many times, and unfortunately he lost this time. I hate that. I'm gonna miss checking him out too. What do I have to look forward to now? I agree that it was a smart move though. Just too bad it involved James, the honey! :(

Sucks that he gone. No more eye candy what-so-ever.

He had 2 idols....you can only use them up to a certain point. I can't believe he didn't use one. I honestly don't think I'll watch the rest of this one play out...though then again there isn't much new tv on these days.

Adaya - James will be on the jury every week. Unfortunately, it will only be at the end of the show and I'm sure he'll have a shirt. on. :(

I was really, really hoping the spoilers were wrong and he'd whip out one of those idols. Oh well, as long as Todd or PG don't win!

Looks like they put up the scores. You and I are neck and neck!

Really?? I think this is one of the best seasons in recent history! Even though I liked James, you gotta admit that was great gameplay from everyone else. They couldn't just let him waltz through and win without putting up a fight. I like that this season's cast is actually playing the game and thinking. Looks like next week things start to get even more interesting amongst Todd & Amanda's alliance.

Actually, I think that Eric voted for James also, so there would have been a tie between PeeGei (James vote) and Todd (PeeGei's vote). Everyone else voted for James, so if he'd been smart and played the idol, there would have been whatever they do for tiebreakers, right?

I suck at this fantasy game, but it's still fun!

Todd is so far out there I think he's gone, but wouldn't it be funny if Amanda got voted out instead! I hate to say this but I think either PeeGei or Courtney are going to win this season! I hope not!

I think PG should have told James that they were planning on voting him out and then had him, her & dumbazz Eric vote for Todd. Or at least her & Eric vote for Todd and then James play the idol... Of course, this would require Eric to at least think somewhat about strategy.

Eric is so lame. "I don't want to risk anything." Risk what? You have no obligation to vote for James, no one even told you they were voting for James.

I want Denise to win now too. I dont think it will happen, but it would be way better than handing over the money to Todd (anyone else notice that he is looking more and more shady every week... beady little eyes) Or PG who annoys the crap out of me, she doesnt even have to speak and I want to jump through the TV and strangle her! At least all I want to do to Denise is cut her hair.

But I am so so bummed about losing James, he could have taken it all if he hadnt been so greedy with those idols!

I think Denise has a fairly decent shot of going pretty far. If she makes it the the Final three, I think she could beat whoever else she went up against when it comes to jury votes. She's flying under the radar pretty well, and usually the ones who do that tend to fare pretty well in this game. Time will tell.

I was yelling at my tv for James to play one of those idols. But he didn't listen. :( He was my favorite player by far! I agree with Rosebud, this has been one of the best seasons of Survivor in a long time!

Todd and PG drives me nuts! I just want to bitch slap them both whenever they show up on TV. Amanda is not far behind. She will probably try to unseat Todd this week. Which is unfortunate cuz now PG will go farther!

I totally didn't understand why he didn't play an idol. Isn't it like other seasons, that they can only be played until there are 4 people left. So play one now, and hope you get II later, and if you don't then you have another one.

I hope the lunch lady wins too. I don't care for the rest. I really really don't like Todd!

Usually they interview the person that's kicked out but I found this disclaimer from the Editor:

[EDITOR'S NOTE: Reality TV World will not be publishing an interview with James this afternoon. In a move that all but confirms his participation in Survivor's still-unannounced but currently-filming second all-stars edition, CBS has announced that James -- similar to what happened with Survivor: All-Stars participant Rupert Boneham in 2003 -- will not be available for post-show media interviews. No reason was given for his unavailability.]
