We'll be taking the pup with us up to our property in Canada next week. For us we need ID to cross the boarder, but is there anything i need to bring for the dog? Should i bring a copy of his health certificate? Anything else?

Check with your vet but I beleive you will need documentation that all of his vaccines are up to date. You might also check Canada's travel site if they have one.

I just crossed the border from Washington State into Canada and back this July.

They asked for his rabies cert coming back into the US.

On the way into Canada, they asked us if he had his rabies shot but didn't even look at the paperwork.

I also brought along copies of his other vaccinations and registration, but no one asked to see them.

We go across with our dog a couple of times a year. They almost always ask for her vaccination records (or sometimes more specifically rabies). Other than that, they haven't required anything.
