Right now I keep my everyday jewelry in separate little depression-glass bowls and cups in a drawer, but I'm looking for a better way to store necklaces and bracelets. How do you store your jewelry, especially things that you wear often?

I store it in a wooden jewelery box from red envelope that a now ex-bf gave me. The little compartments are lined, with velvet I think. The box isn't big enough and a lot of the jewelery gets stacked, like necklaces and bracelets. Some of it the pieces came in little bags so I keep them in there if they have to be stacked to lower the risk of harming them.

I have so many different jewelry boxes at home it's insane (and they're all full). I have 1 each for:

-Vintage jewelry from Tim's family (each Grandma has their own shelf with separate compartments for pins, bracelets and chokers)-jewelry box actually came from my Great Grandma and stuff I got from her is in the bottom drawer of that

-Vintage jewelry from my family - jewelry box came from one of my Grandma's

-Vintage jewelry I bought at rummage sales and/or Goodwill-bought the jewelry box at Goodwill

-Black Hills Gold or "nicer" jewelry I've gotten from Tim - small jewelry box I got from when I stood up in my brother's wedding.

-Obnoxiously cheap large rings I've found at rummage sales or department stores - Box from my parents for my birthday.

Then I have 2 small rubbermaid boxes with 3 pullout drawers where I separate the bracelets from the necklaces and the pins.

Oh-we do have 4 dressers in our room plus a little night stand that has 4 shelves so I have plenty of room for all the boxes.

It's a good thing I get a kick out of the cheap jewelry. I have a ton of it but it didn't cost me much to get.

I have a small wooden jewelry box that I got for C-mas a long time ago that holds most of my small and sentimental stuff. But my longer necklaces and most of my earrings are now sitting on my dresser, fully laid out (they get tangled in the box).

Bed, Bath and Beyond has these things and I want to get them...they come in all different configurations, so I can mix and match as I need. Plus they aren't too expensive, and with the 20% coupons that come in the mail, I can get them one at a time.

Here's their website link with the complete set of what they have - and the brands they sell.

On my person. I wish I had enough jewlery to store. ;)

My only everyday pieces are my wedding bands which I just place on my nightstand before bed and my diamond studs and a white gold necklace that never come off me.

I have a jewelry cabinet. Its like a little dresser with tall legs. It has 6 drawers that are each separated into various sections and the top flips open for more storage with the back of it having hooks for necklaces that hang behind all the drawers but still inside the whole unit.

I've got two jewelry boxes, one I bought at Target and one DH's aunt gave me for Christmas last year... both are full LOL The one from Target has a little rotating thing with hooks where I keep my necklaces... I don't have many bracelets but the ones I do have don't tangle easily so I can stack them or shove them in wherever there's room.

I have a large jewelry box on the dresser that holds everything. I'll usually leave my everyday earrings and such sitting on top.

I have lots of earrings for pierced ears. I bought a piece of plastic "canvas" --the kind that crafters use for needlepoint projects--and hook all my earrings on it. I hang it on the wall in the bathroom, but you could put it in a frame and set it on a dresser.

Keeps them in pairs and right out where I can see them.

Necklaces and bracelets are on eyehooks screwed under a high shelf, also in the bathroom.

Does anyone have any other ways they store their jewelry? I have a nice collection of really nice pieces and some more costume pieces. I don't want something that takes up a lot of room, but it needs to hold a number of necklaces. I'd like to be able to keep it organized and easy to see everything at once.

For all my costume jewelry I bought a jewelry organizer that hangs in my closet. It can hold up to 80 pieces. My only complaint is that there are not enough larger compartments for my bigger necklaces. I got it on Amazon for $10.

I have a 3 "tray" style jewelry box from Red Envelope and a silver engraved jewelry box from Pottery Barn, which I received as gifts. Most of my everyday (costume-ish) jewelry goes in one of these, which hangs in my closet:

It's not the classiest looking thing, but it allows me to see everything and it organizes a lot of quantity (which I have) in a very small space.

The Container Store has a lot of different options, though:

I currently have all my jewelry in a small cabinet that sits on top of my dresser. It looks sort of similar to this:

However, I have way too many necklaces and they're all smashed in there and I can't get at any of them. What I'm planning to do is purchase some tie racks and hang them next to my dresser so I can display all my necklaces individually. It will be nice to see them all and select one without having to untangle it from 10 others.

Another option are these fabric panels (http://www.etsy.com/shop/KikiBella) sold on Etsy. Earrings go on the top half, necklaces are hung from the bottom. This seller offers a bunch of different fabrics for the panels.

Also a friend of mine suggested buying a bulletin board (a nice, fabric-lined one, like this (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=11801250) from BB&B) and hanging your necklaces from it using straight pins. You can dress it up a bit by using straight pins that have pearls on the end.

And I bookmarked this website (http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/jewelry_holder), which shows how to make a necklace display using a photo frame and cup hooks. Pretty creative.

I have one of those hanging organizers, too, and like Sashi, I wish it had bigger slots for my big necklaces and bracelets. That's where my costume stuff goes.

My good jewelry is scattered all over. I don't want to make it easy for some thief to just grab a jewelry box :D

I'm trying to figure out a system for my new house. I'm not yet sure if I'm going with the system that I've used in my past few houses or if I want something new. I don't have a pic of my old one, but I had it set up almost like an "art" installation hanging on the wall by my bed.

I had something similar to this for earrings: http://www.woodwitch.com/products/earring_holder_4tier_closeup.htm

Edit: I seem to have forgotten how to link to a pic. Here's the web link since I'm just getting a box with an x in it above: http://www.woodwitch.com/products/earring_holder_4tier_closeup.htm

and then I had two rows of hooks next to it for necklaces. The concept was similar to the white tie rack Rosebud has in her post, except that I had individual decorative hooks. I had several necklaces on each hook and I guess about a total of 8 hooks, staggered in a couple of rows.

What I liked best was that it was very easy to see all my jewelry at a glance and when it was all hanging up together, it was really pretty.

I'm just not sure if the look is going to work in my new bedroom so right now, it's all in my closet and pretty inaccessible except for a handful of earrings and necklaces in my nightstand for now.

I also have a small jewelry box that I use for "good" jewelry (and some hidden spots in the house for really good jewelry).

I have a tray insert that fits inside a closet system drawer. It has separate compartments and one of those roll things that you store your rings in. My necklaces get kind of clumped together in there. I've been thinking that a peg board on the wall of my closet would be a good option though. You could paint the peg board a pretty color and hang necklaces, bracelets, and rings on the pegs, and you could even put those storage boxes that go with peg boards up to store earrings and whatever else you want.

I have a half circle shaped jewelry box with a key on my nightstand...I tend to keep it open since I access it quite often. I do not have many expensive pieces though so I'm not too concerned about things getting lost. This reminds me that I need to purge some items though...another thing to add to my future garage sale!
