The neighbors that we have in back of us (we share a fence, but our yard is about 1600 SF) are having their house tented and fumigated. My DH thinks the dogs have to be boarded on the 2 days they are doing this. Anyone have any idea if this is true? I have put a call into the company that is doing the work but they haven't called me back and I can't find anything on line.

Thanks!

Hmm, I've never heard of a neighbor having to do that. Are your dogs entirely outdoor?

Thanks for the quick response. No, the dogs are indoor when we are there and at night of course. They are only out during the day when we are at work (unless it's raining or something.) I am just concerned because one of the days they are going to have the tent up is the day the housecleaner is there and she isn't a fan of "big" dogs (they are actually very sweet and only about 30lb border collie mixes.) I wanted to leave them out that day but now he has me freaked out.

I don't think it would be a problem- I've never heard of anyone having to do that personally...I know people board their pets when their own house is being fumigated (duh!) but it seems that if it were bad enough that your neighbor's house were affected they would be required by law to notify you, kwim? With people and their kids running around and all of that, and lawsuits abound, I think those places are pretty tight about keeping noxious stuff contained.

It wouldn't hurt to just give Terminix a call for your own peace of mind though.

Those are kind of my thoughts too....I have called Terminex twice and the call reps don't know the answer and 2 messages to a manager have gone unreturned. Grrrr.
