I know you all have been on pins and needles! ABC has announced the new bachelor.
From ABC.com (http://abc.go.com/primetime/bachelor/index?pn=newbachelor):
ABC'S NEW BACHELOR IS A SINCERE, SEXY, SUCCESSFUL SELF-MADE MAN WHO MAY BE THE SERIES' HOTTEST GUY YET
The 11th Edition of ABC's Popular Romance Reality Series Will Premiere With a 90-Minute Special on Monday, September 24. Brad Womack, 34, a successful, self-made entrepreneur, has been selected to star in the 11th edition of ABC's popular romance reality series when it returns this fall on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24 (9:30-11:00 p.m., ET), on ABC with a special 90-minute season premiere. It doesn't hurt that his sexy good looks make him The Bachelor's own "McSteamy."
For all his hard-earned accomplishments, there is one thing missing from Brad's life: He is ready to find his soul mate, settle down and have the family life he has so long desired. But Brad's heart, determination and commitment have already given him a good head start.
Currently residing in Austin, Texas, Brad co-owns four lucrative bars with his two brothers, Chad and Wesley, both of whom are married. With the success of these establishments, they are now looking to expand into other ventures and are in the early stages of developing a hotel. (continued)

And from People.com (http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20050538,00.html):
Working with his brothers Wesley and Chad (his twin), Womack saved enough money to purchase his first drinking establishment in 2001. He now co-owns four bars with his brothers – both of whom are married – and resides in Austin. (He and the brothers are featured on the MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/chugginmonkey) for one of their bars, The Chuggin' Monkey.)

Between the human pretzel, the girl walking around with "one boob" and all the drunken booty shaking, it seemed like a sorority party gone very, very awry.

He's so not the sexiest bachelor ever. Hello, Andrew Firestone! (was that his name?)
Last night was okay. I kind of miss the crazy excitement of the chick with the eggs that were close to their expiration date. Remember? A couple of seasons ago? She upped the ante for me on trainwreck-ness. There was just nothing quite as shocking last night.
I'm rooting for my homie from Argentina, although I have to say, I barely remember her. But hey, I'm from Argentina, too, so I feel like I have to like her. ;)

Some of the girls were very....interesting. Women choose to impress him by being...freakishly flexible, ultra slutty, drunk as hell and just plain corny (a la Hillary "I'm an RN so you'll have to let me check you vitals and see if your heart goes pitter patter for me" as he is literally PUSHING her away).
I just don't get it. But, the slutty girls will reign, as usual. Except at the very end when he surprises everyone and picks the sweet girl next door. Why are we always surprised by this?
And I agree with pp on his sexiness....eh, not so much. Andrew was WAY hotter....and as icky as it sounds to some, I'd rather have Byron. Something about being a professional bass fisher just makes me all hot and bothered

Hello, Andrew Firestone! (was that his name?)
Completely agree!!!!!!! I wonder if he's still single ;)
I thought the episode was quite amusing. I couldn't hold back my laughter when the girl showed Brad her webbed toes. How weird was that! I think Mallory could have gotten a one-on-one without jumping in the pool and asking him to take off his pants, but she still got a rose, so who knows!
I LOVED the boob girl. Was it Melissa? She just couldn't understand why she didn't get a rose. I would have loved to have seen her sober reaction to it last night.

Nope. He's engaged to some "former model":
May 7, 2007
Andrew Firestone, star of ABC’s reality series The Bachelor season three, ended his bachelor days as he proposed to Serbian model Ivana Bozilovic. According to Us Weekly, Firestone and Bozilovic dated for two years prior to Bozilovic’s acceptance of his marriage proposal. She said, “[Firestone] is a lot more down-to-earth than I pictured him.” An engagement party has been scheduled in two weeks. source (http://www.buddytv.com/articles/the-bachelor/former-bachelor-star-andrew-fi-6248.aspx)

It's interesting how much we think different bachelors are attractive or not. Firestone was SO not my type. And though it is an unpopular opinion, but the one I thought was the most attractive (at least physically) was Aaron Buerge. It seems impossible that ALL 25 women just happen to find the Bachelor any one particular year super hot, kwim?

Oh, interesting analysis. To me, it sounded like he wanted to know what her ethnicity was. Because he said, "Where are you originally from?"
Maybe I'm projecting, because people ask me that all the time. And they don't want to hear me say "I live in Boston". They mean, "I can't pin your look/accent down. Are you Latina, Italian, Middle Eastern, or what?"
Because Solisa looks "ethnic", to me, that's exactly what he meant. I could be wrong though.

A couple of things cracked us up last night:
- The girls stayed at the same hotel where DH & I spent our wedding night, the Westlake Hyatt (http://westlake.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/rooms/room-description.jsp;jsessionid=ZGBPRUFSTNISJTQSNW2VAFO OCJWYYUP4)! We were looking at the rooms, and especially the fountain in the lobby & said "hey, wait a minute...."
- Brad's version of the webbed foot story was soooooo funny!
- Seeing his twin brother step in could be really amusing, or really lame. :p
Yea, the uncontrollable laughter talking about the webbed feet was hysterical. :D

OMG, no comments on the train wreck that occurred last night??
Brad is just....stupid...honestly, he's not the brightest bachelor we've had. It almost seems like he is reading from cue cards or something when he talks to the girls.
Michelle--Did she think pulling a Bevin was going to get her to the final rose?? Come on girl, it's already been done...on a side note though, i was glad to see she didn't break anything or do any real harm to herself.
Jenni--I felt so bad for her. She really does seem genuinely sweet. I don't know why her bringing her modeling portfolio with her is such a big deal. The girls furthered her career by opening the damn book on camera. She didn't really have to do anything!!
Solisa--OK, I'm assuming everyone picked up on this...."I want a body shot" as she pushes out her chest, rubs salt on her cleavage and tries to feed brad a lime with her tounge. THEN, she pulls brad aside and says "I'm a christian, I like to stick to my morals and values" and he's like..ummm...ok. THEN, the girl takes off her top and goes streaking down the beach. THEN she wears a dress to the rose ceremony that barely covers her tatas. and he STILL picked her. WOW, can we say shallow?
Jade--I don't like her, she's trouble.
That's all the commentary I have. I'll be interested to see who makes it to the top.

They cut out to commercial when he was talking about the kiss with McCarten. Did he say it was bad? She looks like a 5 year old BTW.
I actually like Jenni, and I can't stand trash talkers like Jade.
I'm thinking he only chose Solisa because none of the other girls were interesting, and the producers probably told him to keep her around for ratings.
I thought of Bevin too when Michelle fell down the stairs. You've got to be kidding me. She could have gotten a rose on her own merits.
I thought I was going to like Hillary, but damn, that girl has claws. I can't wait to see her emotional breakdown next week during their date.
Is it just me or is his twin brother hotter?

Solisa drives me crazy. Loved her morals/values talk. Give me a break. I still can't believe he gave her a rose.

My favorite part of this episode was how a girl fell down the stairs and REALLY hurt herself, and the other girls react with catty comments and skepticism. "Wow, she has a concussion and she can call you?"
What a bunch of b*tches.
I'll admit that I've been reading spoiler boards, but I think the girl who's our winner is getting a Jen Scheft edit-- as in way under the radar. Hmmmm...
eta: I must add that the one great thing about this season is that we've just seen episode 2 and there haven't yet been ANY tearful declarations of eternal love for Brad. Very unusual.

Brad's kiss with McCarten was just awkward. She said she was going to kiss him and then he started talking, I think to have her not kiss him. It was embarrassing to watch, yet I have to admit that thanks to Tivo, I hit rewind & got to watch it again!
I didn't think that Brad and his twin (Chad?) looked very much alike. Why couldn't we have twin Bachelors this season?!
Did you guys catch Chris Harrison on "Chelsea Lately"? He's hilarious. Chelsea made fun of him last week saying that Chris wanted Brad to pick him. She also asked him who his least favorite Bachlors/Bachlorettes were. To my surprise, he gave an answer, albeit with the disclaimer that he was basing his picks on how the ratings were. He said Jenn Schift didn't translate well with the audience and that her season was a disappointment. He also didn't care for Lorenzo's season, also saying that the ratings weren't too good.
I'll admit that I've been reading spoiler boards, but I think the girl who's our winner is getting a Jen Scheft edit-- as in way under the radar. Hmmmm...

I have no words for Hillary. She made a complete ass of herself last night and am stumped as to why she got a rose. I knew these girls were desperate, but geez, show some restraint!
And Solisa, what show does she think she's on? She's better suited for Rock of Love or perhaps auditioning for a job at a strip club. I'm still wondering about her speech last week on morals and values.
The whole Brad/Chad switch was pretty funny. They don't look identical to me, nor do they sound anything alike. Some of those girls must have already been drunk. Can't wait for the double date next week!

Seriously, why is he keeping Jade?? She always has this snotty look on her face! I thought she was friends with Hillary but she looked like she wanted to murder her when Brad was putting the necklace on her.
Why did Hillary keep crying? I had to look away b/c I was so embarassed for her. Everytime they cut back to their date, she was still crying! I totally thought she would be going home. Oh well.
Solisa was ridiculous last night. Did anyone notice her lips when she was talking to the camera after she got cut? They didn't look attached to her body.
I want to like Bettina but I have never really seen her talk to Brad. When she finally told him she was divorced she kept playing with her hair. It reminded of the "I'm so mature for my age" girl from last season that always played with her hair.
I like Sheena too. She seems like a nice, normal girl.

I liked that sending in Chad was able to flush out a few of the girls who shouldn't have been there, like Lindsey and Solisa. They may be twins but they aren't that identical-- even I could tell which one was which. But my real question... who names their twins Brad and Chad? So ridiculous!

This show is crazy! Where do they find 25 batshit crazy women? So glad Jade is gone. She was only there to bitch about the other women. I'm not sure who said Jenni was a slut for kissing Brad, but all I could think about is how any one of these women would probably have already slept with him given the chance. And I hate Bettina. She's a carbon copy of Bevin from last season. Can't wait for Hillary's meltdown next week.
In past seasons, there was some guy that wrote a really funny recap each week. I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and have a link?

I am pretty sure Bettina said Jenni was the slut for kissing Brad. She then said she is a slut & a liar b/c she didn't tell anyone she kissed Brad on that date. I'm sure that given the chance, every single one of those girls would have died for the first kiss! I don't know if it is editing but Bettina sure changed a lot last night. She used to be this quiet girl that never said much but she was pretty outspoken last night. Not sure what to think about her. I still like Sheena. I think Jenni is really cute too.
The guy that I think you may be talking about is Reality Steve. Here is the link:

Wow. What an awesome episode!
I felt bad for Jade. It's hard to tell who is the bitchy one, her or Deanna...or both.
Before the show even ended I was thinking that Hillary and Bettina have major psycho potential. Can't wait for next week. It's interesting that they revealed that Hillary gets cut.
I have to say I still like Jenny. I think the others are just really jealous. She and Brad seem to have the most genuine and mutual connection.
I did like when Bettina said the others have no clue about marriage...I don't think they do. :) It makes for a fun show, though.

Yeah, Chris said, about Hilary, when Hilary leaves the show... leads me to believe that she is leaving on her own... not sure why she's crying so much if it was her own choice, though.
I noticed a huge difference in DeAnna last night... I don't like her as much anymore.
Yes, it was Bettina who called Jenni a slut AND a liar.
Off topic... I went to school with identical twins named Miles and Niles. LOL

Yes-- possibly the only words of wisdom ever spoken on this show, and all those twits respond by scoffing, calling Bettina damaged goods and uttering my very favorite phrase, "When you know, you know."
Marriage is hard, ladies! But what do they care? They just want to win a game show.
I actually don't like Jenni. I think she's playing the game HARD and her fakey-fake sweetness seems so, so contrived to me. If I had to say I like anyone... maybe Sheena? There's no one I'm rooting for, though.

I thought they were especially mean about Bettina's divorce too. It's not like she's a convicted felon, she was married before and now she's not. What does it matter?

Bettina is nutso. I can't believe she said Jenni was "the sluttiest one in the house" b/c she kissed Brad. What is she, 12 years old? That girl has serious issues.
Hillary annoys the living $&@#(* out of me! Ugh - when she was saying "Well I may not have been the first to kiss him but as long as I was the LAST person to kiss him I'm fine with that!". Hellooooo idiot. He's been on dates since you last saw him one-on-one. What makes you think you wre the last???
I think he obviously has the strongest connection with Jenni - and maybe the next strongest with Sheena.

Hillary bugs the crap out of me too, but I think she said "as long as I am the last person to kiss him", meaning the person he chooses in the end. Either way, I hope she is far from that.

Yeah it was a little anticlimatic considering how much they had been hyping it all week. I am still surprised that they revealed who was going home last week. I figured there had to be more to the story than just not getting a rose. It was pretty funny though when Brad kept trying to tell her they were just friends and then she would say something about how great their chemisty was and she can see it when he looks at her. Ouch. I can't believe they are already on the hometown dates. The season seems to have gone so fast! I can't remember......do they usually get rid of two girls at a time this late in the game?
I agree that Jenni seems to have the strongest connection. I also like that she seems to qenuinely care about the others' feelings. Sheena is okay. I guess she just seems so young to me. Also, she doesn't seem to have a very strong personality. I did feel bad for her when she fell though! I bet it will be down to the two of them at the end.
Bettina's hometown date looked BAD!
For some reason I'm a bit on the fence with Jenni now. I don't know why. I can tell you the headbands definitely aren't helping. There are some people who headbands just don't work for. I'm one of them. Somebody needs to tell her she is one of them too.
I agree that Hillary definitely needed a Xanax or something last night but they WAY overhyped that. Well, and they showed pretty much the entire breakdown in the previews anyway! I thought it was hilarious early in the show when going into commercial the voice over was like "And later .. Hillary LOSES HER MIND". Ummm no. That she did not. The producers of this show kill me with that!
I honestly don't think Brad did that good of a job of telling Hillary he got the "Just friends" vibe from her. He was "I had to shoot straight" but there is a difference between telling someone "I ONLY feel the friend thing" and telling someone "I feel very comfortable with you, like a friend". The latter indicates that more feelings might be present.
Is it me or is Bettina a complete brat? And a terrible liar. When Jenni confronted her about saying that her date sucked after hearing about Sheena's date her excuse of "I totally meant it as a joke" was terrible. It was like you could see her processing the excuse in her brain as she made it up. I expected her to be like "YES! That's it .. it was a joke!"
I think Deanna is a complete bitch. At least that is how she is portrayed. He seems way too nice for her.
I think I might be on "Team Sheena" for now. It somewhat looks like her mom might screw things up for her a bit with the "She's the one. She might not be you're one, but she is the one" and then "lets get a ring!". Ummmm WHAT?

I could not believe Bettina's family. Yeah he owns bars, but isn't he a millionaire?!?! And I can't believe he gave Bettina a rose after that. At the end of Bettina's hometown date, Brad seemed so uncomfortable and didn't know what to do. Must be something we didn't see.

I am a HUGE Suns basketball fan, but their dancers SUCK!! I was appalled when I went to a game in Phoenix last year. Of course I am overly critical, as a dancer, but I think that may be par for the course, the NOLA/OKC Hornets dancers sucked last year too.

Some of the scenes in the preview for next week's episode (fantasy dates in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico) were at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach resort, where I was on vacation with DH at the end of August. I wasn't too impressed with Jenni's dance abilities either. If she wanted to show Brad how much dancing is a part of her life, why didn't she show him a routine or something? I found a picture of Jenni on the Phoenix Sun's Dancers website. If Brad did indeed choose her, I guess they are doing a long distance relationship

Well.. Brad did agree to be on the show and signed those same papers. So he has to expect that some people wouldn't approve of the show or be skeptical. So it goes both ways. I wouldn't be surprised if her parents didnt approve of her being on the show but only did it because they wanted to support her.

Jenni: I think she was just embarrassed to dance in front of Brad. She probably (hopefully?) is really a better dancer. She seems the most real to me and the most genuine,
DeAnna: It still seems like she is in it just to win to me. Although she has probably convinced herself she has feelings for Brad I don't see them lasting.
Bettina: I think it is funny she is not even smart enough to come back with remarks to defend herself when put on the line. Like when she said she was just joking about not liking her date last week. Ummm...no you weren't. I can't imagine him picking her with such an unsupportive family. I get the feeling though that Brad isn't used to being disliked. He's usually the golden boy.
Sheena: Although I like Sheena she still seemed to lack personality to me. I saw the most personality in the limo after she was rejected. I think Brad was trithful when he said there just wasn't a spark.
I think DeAnna and Jenni will definitely be the final two. I will be shocked if he doesn't pick Jenni.

Do you think he had sex with all 3 girls? In past seasons I didn't necessarily think that after watching the fantasy date episodes, but...last night I really got the impression that's where things were headed on each of his 3 overnight dates.
Speaking of dresses I thought Bettina's dress last night was so pretty...if he was choosing based off of looks she'd win hands down.I thought her dress was weird and didn't like it at all. :p
I'm glad they at least changed up the rooms for all the overnights. How icky.Icky, I agree. It looked like he stayed at 3 different resorts for his 3 overnight dates - they're all part of Pueblo Bonito & are close together though. One of them has these cool beach beds out on the sand, and I thought for sure we'd get a scene of Brad and one of the girls hanging out there (obviously not for the overnight date due to lack of privacy) but no such luck.

Here's one of the beach beds at the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica that I mentioned above. The Pacifica is where he stayed one night (I think with Bettina) and where he held the rose ceremony.

I had the same exact impression. I don't recall any previous Bachelor where he seemed to almost come out and say that they would be having sex. Even the girls gave that impression. So I think he did.

Here is a Podcast with an interview with Brad this week where he says he did *not* sleep with any of the women and the reason the girls and he all acted so eager to go back to the rooms was b/c they could spend time together away from the cameras. That makes sense to me.

I think this is the first season of The Bachelor that the people on the FORT boards have not been able to conclusively figure out the winner at this point. The editing on this show has gotten tricky!
I'm betting the winner is Jenni. I don't like her (or Deanna, for that matter), but Jenni is the only one that he's clearly had chemistry with from day one.

It would be funny to watch the FRC next week and not have him give out a rose. Two meltdowns are better than one!
McCarten and Jade still seemed as bitchy as ever last night. It's no wonder most (I think Sheena has a boyfriend) of them are still single.

I thought it sounded like Jenni too! I think they are just trying to throw us though. I am still thinking that he doesn't pick either one.
I'm thinking they are totally over dramatizing this "ending you NEVER saw coming" like they did whats-her-names departure with the "biggest meltdown in Bachelor history". Dun dun DUNH! :)
Bettina
I'm hoping they are not bringing her back or anything b/c I don't see how they would do well with her family being so "disappointed" with him. Thing is his family never said they were upset b/c of the way they were meeting - they specifically said they were put off by Brad b/c he owned a bar and didn't complete college. How freaking snobby can you be? Personally I could never be with someone who would comletly judge me like that without getting to know me.
Jenni
Okay I liked her before but now I just find her annoying. I can't quite put my finger on it. Just annoying.
Deanna
Still not a huge fan of her but LOVE her family! They were just so warm and inviting - the way you should be when you host someone in your house. Plus they just seemed like so much fun. The type of people you'd actually look forward to spending holidays with - unlike Bettina's family the McStuffy clan ;)

Here's a guy that has four bars to promote and had the chance to do that on national tv with 25 desperate women throwing themselves at him. In the end, he got exactly what he wanted -- publicity, a few weeks of bikini clad women, and now the chance to date anyone he wants.

Although I called it, this was a really bizarre ending. I wonder if Jenni knew before last night that Deanna didn't get the FR either...I also wonder how ABC is going to recover from this with a new bachelor season. To be honest, I wouldn't watch again. I know this show is incredibly scripted and edited and it's not entirely real, and in the past i can get past the ridiculous sobbing with each goodbye. But for whatever reason, watching this finale made me feel like they really DID screw with these womens' hearts. I mean, they were both completely unsuspecting. In the past, I have seen the women cry and boo hoo, but you could tell they were ready for it. I dunno...just kinda weird.

I'm assuming you know what happened, since it's all over this thread...but a recap of his heartfelt words, lol...I got that
So the girls meet the families. Mom has a private talk with each one. Deanna is very sincere and honest, Jenni is giggly and sweet. Mom says she like deanna better, but probably because she met her first, so she doesn't know.
Now both the girls get one last chance to wow Brad. First Deanna. She is making dinner in some apartment (I doubt they get to stay in nice apartments like that, probably just used this one for last nights show). Brad is saying in the voice over how much he cares about deanna and he can see being with her forever. Then he completely pours out his heart to her.
Now Jenni has a turn to show she is domesticated. She's in another apartment (or maybe the same one???) cooking dinner. Brad comes over, they eat and talk. Then they end up on the couch where Jenni gives him this journal and on the inside is a note from her telling him how much she loves him and how she had a hard time saying it before (before what?? you've only known him for 3 months) and she hopes its not too late. Brad is so touched and tells her he really needed to hear that from her.
And onto the FR. Brad is waiting at the pretty little podium for Jenni. He says lots of nice gooey things to her, but says that she is not the one. He asks her to say what is on her mind, she says that she is embaressed now for telling him all those wonderful things the night before. They hug, brad teas up, sticks her in the limo. Goodbye Jenni
The voiceover comes on and he says he is nervous and scared about what is coming next (i thought he said he was excited, but i'm starting to think I was wrong). Deanna comes down, he is just pouring his heart out, then he says "you know how you said that you want to get married once and that's it? well I want that too, and I just said goodbye to jenny" (not exact quote). THEN, he actually says excuse me and walks away from Deanna and had to loosen his collar and regain his composure. Then he comes back and tells her that he cannot tell her that he loves her because he doesn't. And she looks like she is going to put her fist in his face. He says to her "Don't you know how much I care about you". and her award winning reply is "I thought I did, up until now". He looks like he is going to choke and he tells her "I have to take you to the limo...now". Into the limo she goes and goodbye Deanna.
And THAT was the most shocking ending in bachelor history :)

I don't understand why he didn't just ask her to date him. He said he cared a great deal about her, but had to let her go because he didn't love her. I think it would be extremely difficult to truly love someone that you met on a reality dating show and that you've only known a few weeks.
Deanna still looks angry (I don't blame her) on the After the Final Rose show tonight.

ITA!!! Haven't they done that in the past? Where the Bachelor said he wasn't ready to get married but wanted to see where things went? (I haven't watched it since Trista and Ryan, but I seem to remember hearing that one recently ended that way.)
Call me naive, but I really felt bad for him at the end. He really did look sad (and sexy at the same time!). Although I do live in Austin and I think I could hear thousands of women shrieking with joy that he is still single. :)

You really think so? I think these women have completely unrealistic expectations. I don't see how any woman can expect a man to fall in love with her after 6 weeks when there are 20 other women are around.
Also, maybe he did see something in them but maybe it wasn't enough. That's called relationships. I don't see why they aren't able to grasp that concept.
The way the women are acting now is making me think he did the right thing by letting them go. I think it's kind of sad that they have been in mourning over him for 2.5 months when the show didn't even last that long! I think Deanna is looking especially stupid. She really needs to let it go. If she thinks she's as great as she says she does, she shouldn't be crying over him. Why does she want someone so badly who clearly doesn't want her?
I do think he misled them before the finale but I highly doubt the show would allow him to do anything else. This is television.

Eww...I apologize for that stinky (non)spoiler, LOL! A friend of mine's brother was DiDi's old manager...that is where the info came from...and wow, what a bunch of hooey! Sorry! :)
I am one of those fans who only watch the women tell all, the finale and after the final rose (I find you can know everything important that went on during that time).
His explanation was bizarre. I can respect the "I got caught up in it all, I'm just not that into you" part. He's being honest unlike Bob (ewwwwwww). What I don't get is the whole "I love you so much to let you go" part. He should've said, if he meant it, "Listen, you say love takes time and that's not how I see it. I tried to force something that I think will never turn into love." Not sure why he didn't just say that. Instead he said "I can't be forced to love someone" when people said, "Why not just try a relationship?" He could never answer clearly (although I guess he tried) that he doesn't do relationships like that. Odd.
He obviously has commitment issues. I think his feeling were too real for him and that scared him away. No one was asking him to tell either of them that he loved her, but if you find someone who has all the qualities you've ever looked for in a wife, then why not give a shot? He could've been honest that way and still gave it a go. My personal opinion is that he's a chicken for not even trying to give it a shot.

I think that he probably got turned off when these girls professed their love for him. He was still in the "like" phase. If someone told me they loved me and wanted to spend the rest of their lives with me and have my children, six weeks into dating, and I wasn't there yet, then I'd probably get a little turned off myself. I think that when a relationship is that lop-sided in mutual feelings, regardless of how much you may have liked that person before, it may be hard to go forward.
Maybe in this case, had one of them "not" told him that they loved him, she would have gotten the rose and been asked to continue a dating relationship with Brad.

Byron and Mary are still together. Trista, Ryan, and their new baby and Byron and Mary were all on the show last night. ABC's last ditch effort to make us all warm and fuzzy about the show after this week's disaster of a finale. :p

I was thinking the exact same thing. I actually feel this guy was the most "real" about the whole thing. I bet it was a combination of what ABC made him do/say and just freaking out about liking 2 women who professed their undying love. My DH would have freaked out if after 5 weeks I did the same. :)
I agree, had one of them said, I really like you and would like to see where this goes and left it at that, she may have gotten the rose (at least the rose to continue dating.)

I agree. I don't fault him at all for not falling in love. I respect him for being honest about it, actually. My gut feeling is that he had serious issues with having feelings for BOTH of them at the same time. He seems more of a hopeless romatic type and it just wasn't right to feel things for both. Perhaps because it was so uncomfortable he didn't allow himself to feel more... like being "in love" with Deanna. At least her Daddy was there to comfort her.

I think I kind of get what he's saying.
If both people (he and the girl) had the same level of involvement, then they could date and see what develops. If they were both in the process of having feelings and wanting to be around each other, then dating is great.
But when the girl says she's in love with him, and he knows he's not, dating her to see if he will eventually fall in love *is* leading her on.
It sucks for the girls, especially DeeDee, who got her hopes up when she found out Jenni had been sent home. But in the end, I'd rather lose a guy I knew for 2 months than one I'd dated (or been engaged to!) for much longer.

I feel so bad for the girls who expressed their love to him. I felt like he was ASKING them to share their feelings, and his mom even asked Jenni if she had said she loved him. I think they were both kind of pushed into these feelings and expressing them. They were definitely led on.
I agree w/ this. I think even our dear bachelor was pushed into leading the girls on. If he had known early on he wasn't interested in marrying / dating any of the women after the show, it wouldn't be good TV. I would have to assume the powers that be urge some feelings on all sides.
I'm so confused. If he was *SO* into both girls why not just pick one to date and see how things go? I mean in "real life" you're usually not going to decide in a month or 6 weeks (whatever it is) if the person you are dating is for SURE the one you will marry! I don't get it. I guess it ws b/c the girls both said "I'm falling in love" or "I am in love" but still - why not still just go with it and see if you don't fall for one of them over time too? And WHY am I not only spending time watching this crap but also spending time outside of normal viewing time getting all caught up in thinking about it!?!??!

I'm sure the producers of the show had a hand in that. It isn't like going to them and saying please don't tell me you love me because I don't love you was really any option.
You'd think the girls who go on this show would have figured that out by now.

Haven't you ever been caught up in a moment? Kinda like when Christy Brinkley married that guy because they both survived that skiing accident. It's just a moment that brings you together and you get caught up in it. I understand how they could "fall in love" in such a short time. It's all very romantic plus they feed them alcohol the whole time.
The other thing is, they take away all of their communication to the outside world...no cell phones, no music, no computers, no books, no newspapers, no tv...no access to the outside world. They cannot call their family or friends, they can't even tell them they are going on the show. Then, the producers talk about the bachelor all the time and all the girls have to focus on is him. could you imagine if you have nothing to do but sit by the pool and drink all day...for 6 weeks...you'd fall in love with a leaf if it meant something exciting.

That is so true, I always forget they have no contact. I think by week 2 I'd be going nuts!
Byron and Mary are still together. Trista, Ryan, and their new baby and Byron and Mary were all on the show last night. ABC's last ditch effort to make us all warm and fuzzy about the show after this week's disaster of a finale.

Apparently they were arguing over leaving a friend's house. And Byron did call the police on Mary.

I just wonder when they will give up on the franchise. When they have the first divorce or will battery suffice?

Yikes!
Actually, not to sound sanctimonious or too serious in light of the thread topic, but it really bothers me when the media makes light of men who are battered. TMZ's title "Bachelor Gets His Ass Kicked" is quite insensitive. If a woman had been battered, would they say she got "her ass kicked"? Domestic violence is wrong and sad, no matter the gender of the abuser!
Okay, end of soapbox. Let's go back to gossip and dish! ;)

Police: 'Bachelor' couple Mary Delgado, Byron Velvick fought over visit (http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/police-bachelor-couple-mary-delgado-byron-velvick-fought-over-visit-6160.php)
Delgado and Velvick were at a friends' condominium last Tuesday night when the pair disagreed over whether they should leave the home after the couple they had been visiting with began arguing, Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt Jim Bordner told The Tampa Tribune in a Monday report.
While Velvick wanted to leave the condominium, Bordner told The Times that Delgado wanted to stay, and after the pair got into Velvick's truck they "became involved in an argument which turned physical."
Boy isn't this a little petty to get into a fistfight?
Who wants to bet that this is the end of the road for these two?

Yeah she was my neighbor around the time DH and I got married. I dont really have much to report but we lived in an apartment and she moved in around the time the Bachelor with Bob started airing. I thought she looked so familiar. She had photo shoots and newspeople interviewing her around the complex. I finally figured out who she was. She wasn't friendly at all, she never smiled, never said hi, it wasn't like I was running up to her for an autograph (she acted like she was sooo important.) Another neighbor (who is also involved in the entertainment business) told us she was friendly but stressed out. She drove a low rider car (if I remember correctly) that had dark tinted windows and a license plate that read something like "What is up" DH and I started calling her "What is up" we would say "Oh, What is up is home" When she moved out she left her door open and it was open for like a week. DH and I were joking that there must be a body somewhere in there and we dared each other to poke in there but we were too chicken to do that.

From Defamer.com:
Nothing You Say Will Stop This Man From Getting Laid: Love-Refusing Bachelor Brad Womack Runs the Daytime Talk Show Gauntlet (http://defamer.com/hollywood/nothing-you-say-will-stop-this-man-from-getting-crazy-laid/love+refusing-bachelor-brad-womack-runs-the-daytime-talk-show-gaunlet-328813.php)
Remember Brad Womack, the slab of The Bachelor man-beef who ripped out America's heart, doused it in Old Spice, and then set the still-beating organ aflame by failing to pretend he'd fallen for either of the two contestants who'd survived weeks of televised culling? Of course you do. That stuff only happened a week ago! Anyway: after giving him the what-for on yesterday's program, today Ellen DeGeneres invited Womack to her show so that should could get some f-ing answers to questions she felt weren't adequately addressed during the post-finale interrogation that repeatedly stole the breath of a studio audience scandalized by his inability to let love heal his tortured soul.
To his credit, Womack rose to the challenge, even knowing that his hunky, lunkheaded charms--or, in a pinch, the mesmerizing removal of his shirt for a peek at his Strip-O-Gram-quality abs--would be of no use against this particular inquisitor. Watch the clip, then head off into your weekend with a marginally greater degree of closure than you had three-and-a-half minutes ago. (article & video at link above)

I could have sworn that on the ATFR show that he had admitted to asking for DeAnna's father to be flown out, but now he's saying that he didn't. Man, he can talk circles around the questions without ever answering them.

Brad refused to give ABC an update on his life or answer any questions regarding the show. What a sleaze!

It's not airing here on the west coast for several more hours, but wow, that's interesting about Brad! He must have gotten a lot of crap from people for the way he ended his season so he doesn't want to open the can of worms again. Acutally I'm surprised there aren't more of the past bachelors who were reluctant to participate in this reunion show tonight...are the rest of them all participating in some way?

Most of them had some sort of update. I don't think I remember them doing an update with Byron though. I could be wrong.
