Can someone please explain the difference between Club Soda, Seltzer Water and Sparkling Water?

Huh, I'd like to know the answer to this myself. Also, what's Tonic Water and how is it different?

Tonic water has quinine in it, but I can't help you with the rest.

I'm pretty sure soda water is carbonated as is any soft drink. It's water with CO2 plus salt. Seltzer and sparkling water just have CO2 bubbles. In sparkling water it is supposed to occur naturally (as in from a mineral spring). Seltzer has CO2 forced into it under pressure from a canister. Bottled seltzer is supposed to be without salt.

I just bought club soda that is sodium free. Would that make it the same as seltzer?
More importantly, :p my Mojito drink recipe calls for club soda. Can I use club soda, seltzer water and sparkling water interchangeably?
I'm not a fan of any of drinking any of them plain. Can you taste a difference between them?

Mindie is right. :) Traditionally, seltzer water is water with CO2 without sodium. Club soda is water with CO2 with 55mg of sodium per 8 ounce serving. I think they all taste pretty similar and I would definitely use them interchangeably, especially in a mixed drink. Enjoy your Mojito! Yum!

And sugar, so calories! The others don't though.

I drink sparkling water daily. I've had club soda and think they are quite similar, but my preference is sparkling water. Club soda is quite a bit fizzier. Sparkling water tastes smoother to me.

Tonic water doesn't taste at all the same as the other three. It tastes gross, IMO. :) Sort of sweet and chemically. The other three, I think, are basically interchangeable.
