A few days ago we had a change of weather and it came out super hot and sunny...at the same time DS broke out into a red rash on his head and back of his neck...it changes every day but today I noticed small white-ish bumps that feel rough to the touch and on his one ear it is slightly crusty yellow.
At first I thought it was heat rash but I would think that would have gone by now...is this something I need to call the dotor about or does it sounds like the beginnings of cradlecap??
TIA!

I am probably overly paranoid, but the crusty yellow would concern me. I would probably call the doctor, just to rule out anything more serious.
baby acne? my ds had it pretty bad for a month. it's just starting to clear up. his skin felt like sand paper.
is it just on his head/neck or his face too?
cradle cap is just dandruff basically. so his scalp wouldn't be red if he had it, it'd be dry/crusty looking.
Doesn't fit the description of the cradlecap my DS had either. Worth a call to the Ped I think.
I don't take chances with any kind of rashes. Especially now that DS is in day care.

When my DS had cradle cap it was yellow and crusty. He also had bad eczema that at times would get yellow crusty patches. We have a Rx cream for those flare-ups.

Thanks ladies!
Yeah I think I would feel better if I took him in to get checked out...I will call tomorrow. The rash is on the underside of his legs and there is a little under his neck too.
I had eczema when I was a baby so maybe that is what it is. He had some baby acne when he was 2 weeks old but that looked like pimples..this doens't look like the same thing at all, otherwise I would think it was that.

We have experienced the same thing as Michelle. Your DS may be having a reaction to what ever you are bathing him with. We had to switch to Cetaphil cleanser and vasoline following his baths.
