Fantasy Football has gone over really big with the NFL football fans, so I wondered if anyone might be interested in doing Yahoo's College Football Pick 'Em Game. I think it sounds like fun.

Question -Are there no spreads for the games that say "Off(0)"?

Alright, ladies. I'm wondering if I didn't make all my picks. I KNOW I wouldn't have picked Texas to lose, and that's what it is showing. BOOOOOO for week 1! lol

I think that the Yahoo Sports page may not working properly-- because on the page where it shows me just my picks, it shows that I supposedly "chose" a bunch of schools that I definitely would not pick. However, on the group page, it doesn't say that. In fact, it looks like we all might have a problem, because nobody got more than 13 of the 19 picks correct, according to the tally-- but looking at the grid, it appears that most of our picks may have been correct?

OK, actually I just asked my DH, and he confirmed that the "problem" is that it's set up (under "group settings") for us to pick the spread, not necessarily the winner. I guess that I should have read the rules before I set my picks this week. At least I'll know for the next one!

oh man..i hate having to pick with the spread and I am the one who set up the league...dang it...I wish I could change it..would anyone be opposed to that if I could change it?

ok, i tried...I cant change it...even in the commissioner settings...i will email them to see if it can be changed...

It's not fun to pick without a spread because we would all basically pick the same teams. If you notice, we all picked the same teams where the line was not a spread. I'm definitely for the spread! It is weird, though, that half the teams have a spread and half don't. Very odd to be set up with both options. Do you all know how the spread works? I can explain it, if not. At least this one isn't confusing with the spread because it clearly shows who the underdog is ... some you kinda have to guess by using the points that are negative and who is listed first. Anyway, the first week was fun! Congrats - we are all so close :)

ok then i will just leave it as is...they do have a little blurb on the pick em home page explaining the spread and how it works if anyone is confused...

strwbrygirl - Same thing happened to me! I went to make some changes and the site was closed. Last week we had until Saturday am to make the picks, but for some reason we only had until Fri night to make them. I missed that in the email. I wonder why the day/time changed. My internet was down! Ugh.

Just a thought - we should probably have a standard day and time that our picks must be in by. Say Sat at 11 am ... before the games kickoff for the day. Or if we need to do Fri night, maybe a little later so everyone can get home and settled and still make their picks? Anyway, just a suggestion.

actually we dont get to pick the time...the site does it itself...according to what games are up for the pick

I think that this week it was messed up/earlier because the Rutgers game was on Friday night. Unfortunately, that's out of our control... I just need to get in the habit of finishing my picks on Thursday night or Friday morning so that I don't miss the window!

Picking with the spread is hard.

As for picking in time, there will be several weeks this year where we have to pick before a Friday night game. Last year I think there was even one week with a Thurs night game. So definitely watch the email notices.
