Okay I am really scared to mention this to anyone IRL because the thought going through my head is Cancer. I am hoping for some level headed people to convince me this might not be that bad.

I seem to have some tenderness and achiness on the side of my left breast, it almost feels like the tenderness and achiness is in the lymph node. I don't feel a mass.

I know I need to call the doctor. Any ideas what this could be? I am not pregnant and I am in the middle of my cycle, and I am not feeling sick.

TIA

I just went to the Dr. for the same problem last week. It's happened to me 2 times in the last 6 months. The first time, I had an ultrasound done, and it was just a swollen lymph node. The Dr. said it was most likely a hormonal thing. The second time they did an exam and an ultrasound. Once again, it was a slightly swollen lymph node. Both times it was in the middle of a cycle. I was told I have nothing to worry about, but if it happens again to come back.

If I were you I would call your Dr.

I hope everything turns out great for you!!!

<I am not a physician, nor do I play one on TV :p>

I agree with nml, it sounds like a swollen lymph node. Also, hormone fluctuations play a big part in breast tissue tenderness, as does having fibrocystic (benign lumps) breasts. But, it's always a good idea to visit your physician, just to be sure it's nothing serious. Generally though, cancerous tumors in the breast are not painful at all, so in that sense it's a good sign that your breast is tender and achy.
