Ds is 7mos and just starting to pull himself to a standing postion in his crib. He still is very unstable and falls down a lot, I am afraid the he is going to hit his head or mouth on the crib railing. What can i put on the railing to protect him? I have found those foam looking things (use them for the corners of our other furn) but i thing he will pull those off since he is using the railing to pull himsef up.
any ideas? oh yea also should i take out his bumper?

If your DS is pulling himself to a standing position, I'd definitely take out the bumper. He could eventually figure out how to use it as a step of sorts to jump out of the crib.
I personally wouldn't put anything on the crib rails. IMO, part of the learning process might include a few bumps and bonks. I totally understand that you don't WANT your child to get hurt -- nobody does. My oldest DD bonked herself a few times when she was first learning to stand in the crib, but never got seriously hurt. It wasn't long before she learned to stand up and sit back down without bonking herself. Sorry, this probably isn't what you want to hear, and my opinion may not be popular, but I'm of the school of thought that learning isn't always free of boo-boos (e.g. when learning to walk, it's inevitable that the child will fall; when learning to ride a bike, it's inevitable that a child will scrape their knees, etc.) Given that it shouldn't be long before your son develops stability that will prevent him from falling down so frequently, I personally don't think it's worth putting something up to protect him.
