Ok, cat mommies how have we let it go for so long that the dog mommies have a thread expressing their love for their canines yet we don't have a love my cat thread? I think our cats would not be happy with that, so here goes...

Reasons I Love My Cat

*She came into our lives just at the time just when we needed her most.
*She comes to me when I call her (well, most of the time).
*She can leap really high in the air when we are playing with her "snake."
*I don't really have to buy her toys bc anything dropped on the floor becomes a favorite toy.
*The way she wags her tail when I am petting her on her special stool.
*She turned dh into a reluctant cat daddy into a proud and doting cat daddy.
*She socializes with the upstairs cat neighbors.

I'll play...

*The way he meows in the morning outside the bedroom door because he wants to cuddle with us in bed so badly!
*When he purrs...
*When he puts his paw (pad only, so gentle) on my face
*When he comes in from being outside playing and he meows as if to say "I've missed you!"
*Seeing my husband hold him like a baby, and the kitty eats it up!
*When other people ooh and ahh over how sweet he is
*Watching him follow me when I walk around the subdivision...he does a cute little gallop to keep up

And why not...some pictures of my Jasper:

Posing, of course!

*The way they purr when I rub their soft bellies, as their little paws twitch joyfully;

* Their endless vocalizations: one means "I want food," another means, "Let's cuddle," another means, "SHOWER! Playtime!"

*How they mark me with their scent before I leave home for work, letting the world know to whom I belong;

*Their unmitigated joy when I head for the kitchen;

*Reilly's love of the melted cheese in a grilled American cheese sandwich;

*Nina's love of ice cream (vanilla, please);

*How the watch TV with me: Reilly behind me, on the top of the couch, Nina next to me;

*Nina's desire to meet the neighbors: she runs out the door and enters an open neighbor's apartment, says hello, then returns.

Tee Hee, I'll play!!

I love how this one, Rubyn, purrs up a storm when he cuddles
I love how he loves to cuddle and snuggle, anytime, anywhere
I love how he can find the hottest patch of sunlight in the house and plop himself down in it, even when it is 100 degrees outside
I love how he hangs out in the bathroom with me when I shower, and waits until I am done to give him attention
I love how Rubyn "rears" up on his hind legs, like a little prarie dog, to give me head-butts
I love how he gives me a "look" when I scold or reprimand, like he just got caught with his paw in the biscuit jar!
I love how Rubyn came into my life the day before me dear sweet Whizzer passed away
I miss and loved how my Whizzer was a mama's boy and was the sweetest little mush-pot around me but noone else

* because he snuck out the front door when I went to get the paper, and he was a good boy and stuck around until I could find him (definitely keeping a watchful eye on the door now)

* because I don't free feed him, he'll follow me into the bathroom/laundry room when it's time to eat, and sit patiently at his food dish as if to say, I need a refill, please!

I love my cat because:
She greets me at the door when I come home.
She is very chatty.
She never jumps on counters or in sinks.
She doesn't attack our plants.
She loves giving headbutts.
She loves kneading me.
She likes to sleep in bed next to me, but not on top of me.
She "scratches" the floor in front of her food and water bowls after eating and drinking--it's so cute. (She also does this with the floor in front of the litterbox, instead of scratching the litter, but what can you do?)
She's the prettiest cat I've ever seen!

She really is the perfect cat for us: sweet, cute, and not demanding!

I have never had a cat before...neither had DH. Somehow, we lucked into the world's greatest cat. He's awesome. DH loves him (and he used to be terrified of cats). He's a total PITA sometimes, but we just work around that. :p What I love about him most of all is that he thinks he's part of the dogs' pack. He also greets me at the door when I come home and comes when you call him. I also love the fact that he has no stranger anxiety at all and will interact with visitors from the first time they come over.

If it wasn't for the 5:00 AM wake up call for breakfast, the plant eating, the jumping on kitchen counters, and the bread-stealing, he'd be close to perfect! :D

I love Beau & Belle because:

-They are always happy to see me
-They love to cuddle but will resort to head butting if you aren't giving them the attention they feel they are entitled to and deserve
-They are the self appointed neighborhood watch team
-They usually greet me at the door
-They keep me company when DH isn't at home and when he is
-They've helped me realize having a clean house isn't a priority

I wanna play too! There are so many reasons I love my sweet kitties, Pepper & Ginger...

- I love the sound of their purrs...it is the sweetest, most comforting sound in the world!
- I love that they'll let me pat/touch them anywyere - head, ears, tail, tummy, paws, etc.
- I love that they sleep in the bed with us pretty much every night. In fact, one or the other of them is usually snuggles up between our pillows.
- I love it when either of them comes up to me as soon as I get in bed, head-butts me, then flops down *right* next to me, purring as loud as can be...as if they've been waiting all evening for me to go to bed so they can come snuggle.
- I love the cute meow/chirping sound that Ginger makes when we rub her head/ears.
- I love that they greet us at the door every time we come home. Even cuter is when you can tell Ginger's just woken up from a nap to come greet us, because she sits there on the landing with these sleepy blinky eyes.
- I love that Pepper is very social and isn't afraid of strangers, and that Ginger, while shy around strangers is the sweetest cat ever around me and DH.
- I love how cute and beautiful Ginger is.
- I love that when Pepper has had enough attention she gives off "signals" so we know to leave her alone before she gets feisty and nippy at us.
- I love that one or the other (if not both) of our cats is almost always in the same room with us wherever we are in the house.
- I love that Pepper stalks her little toys around the house like they are her prey, and then she deposits them on our bed every single day while we're away at work, as if they are gifts she's giving to us.
- I love that my DH, who swore he was so glad to be cat-free after getting his own apartment (his mom had cats, too), moved in with me & quickly became a total softie kitty daddy. Ginger's got him wrapped around her...tail. ;)
- I love that Ginger has never given up on loving & playing with Pepper, despite the fact that for the past 6 years since I brought Ginger home Pepper has never shown her much love in return.
- I love the occasional (rare) moments when I catch Pepper giving in & cuddling with Ginger or licking her head...even though the moment usually doesn't last long before it turns into a fight. ;)

Oh I could go on forever - my kitties are my babies & I just love 'em so much! :p

Because Jade pretends she doesn't need me, when in reality she does.

Because they love to cuddle more than anything in the world.

Because they are experts at keeping the mice away!

Because I am never lonely when they are around.

We just got two kittens about a month ago. My cat, who had been with me for about 18 years, died almost two years ago. The short answer as to why I love them is that make me laugh constantly! I'd really forgotten how much fun it is to have a cat in the house -- and it's even more so when they're kittens and there are two of them.

They do all sorts of crazy things and honestly the funniest are usually when they're being bad (shhh, don't tell *them* ;)). But it's impossible not to laugh when the little one is swinging from the drapes with her claws or hanging 5 feet up in the air on the screen door (and yes, I did immediately stop her from both) or the bigger one has just scared himself with his own image in the mirror yet once again.

And there's nothing like having a cuddly purr-kitty jumping onto my lap while I'm working or cuddling up next to me when I'm sleeping.

This summer, DH will be away for almost 2 months. I don't know what I would do without them. I'd be much more depressed.

tenofcups your little ones sound too cute for words!!! ITA about the whole "hanging" thing though, they are super cute when they find themselves in a precarious situation.
