Post your pictures of your wedding card holders! I have a pic of mine, but it's currently on the camera at home.

If I didn't have one already, I'd be up to making one like this!

Diana, that card holder is SUPER cute!! Did you make that yourself?? I'm sure loads of brides-to-be would LOVE the directions! That is one of the coolest ones I've seen.

We just used a red basket. This is was project I left until the last minute and then just gave up!

Thanks! I love it. :) I can't take credit for it though. My wonderful MOH (SIL) made it! I bought the box and she added dowels on the inside of each corner covered with ribbon and hot glued in. Attached the lid to the top of the dowels with hot glue and voila. She just added ribbon around the lid and formed a cute bow using two kinds of ribbon and then glued it.

We didn't want to cut into the top of the pretty box so that's the idea she came up with. She's very creative!

I was just planning on using a basket but Diana's makes me think twice!

mrstim, I love that idea! It's secure but still pretty and can be used after the wedding as you pointed out you're doing. I may have to steal that if it's all right with you. :D What material did you use for the top and bottom? And where'd you get the lazy susan? Are those 8X10 picture frames? Sorry for all the questions!

Nicole -

No problem - steal away!! :) We used 8x10 frames from the Dollar Tree, lazy susan from Walmart, and just thin thin plywood for the tops and bottom. Add a little duct tape and it was voila! You attach the frames together using L brackets. Post in my journal and let me know if you need anything else!

I don't have any pics of my but I just took a box from one of our shower gifts, cut an opening on top and wrapped it in silvery-wedding'y wrapping paper. Then attached some ribbon on the sides and a pretty bow on top (to attract attention to the opening). I told the catering manager that I wasn't too happy with how it turned out, so he put it out of the way, so it didn't attract too much attention. :)

My step-mom decorated this birdcage for us to use as a card holder:

Sazoo - I like the purple "pillow" on the bottom of your birdcage. (I am also digging that wedding cake candle on the table.)

My mom also made a birdcage for us to use for our cards. She found it somewhere and painted it white, added pearls and tulle, and it turned out quite nice. She's so proud of it.

Thanks! :) Your birdcage is really nice too!

The wedding cake candle was from Crate & Barrel, & it was kind of special because DH wrapped it up as a Christmas present & when I opened it & saw what it was he got down on one knee, pulled out a ring from his pocket, & proposed! :D I thought about not burning it at the wedding so that I could keep it as a memento of our getting engaged, but I decided it was a candle & it was meant to be burnt, & I figured I'd rather let people enjoy looking at it lit up at the wedding rather than have it sit in a box collecting dust for the rest of my life. ;)

I guess I never posted my card holder. I got the idea from mrstim and my dad made it. It's on a lazy susan, so it spins around.

I love your card box Nicole but I think i've told you that before.

Here is mine, got the idea from a bride on theknot.com. Pretty simple and it's currently holding flour in my kitchen:

Not a great picture but it's over there on the left:

The stuff in the forefront is my wishbowl.

sorry i dont have a picture, but i simply wrapped up a large box w/a big bow & tulle on top and put it on the gift table. i cut a slit on top for the cards to be inserted and it worked out really well!
i didnt really care for the overly-decorated mailboxes, birdcages, etc. so this was my-kind-of alternative! =)

We used a decorative bird cage.
