Did anybody else watch? She may be my new favorite person!

I really enjoyed it. I was wondering if people would get how funny she is-- that it's all played for irony-- especially if they haven't seen anything but photos of her before.

I was actually hoping this would turn into a reality show because it would be fun to see her doing something of a bit more substance, but I totally understand that they didn't want their children filmed.

eta: Perhaps my favorite moment was when the DMV guy says "I've got my eye on you Victoria!" and she says "I've got my eye on you too, Bill." Cracked me up.

That was my favorite part too. I've always liked her and I hope others will see that she is a lot of fun.

I thought the show was originally supposed to be a series though, or at least a few episodes. Hopefully she'll do another.

I missed it because I was out, but I am so looking forward to seeing it replayed on Thursday (Bravo @ 1030 PM). From what I've seen of her she is very funny.

I caught it by accident and she's possibly my favorite person now as well. From photos i thought she was really fake but she's actually really down to earth.

I wasn't planning on watching it, but there wasn't anything else on. I loved it! I hope there are more episodes to come.

I was so surprised with how nice and genuinely funny she is. I see her in a whole new light. And I too liked the line mentioned above.

And she and David seem to really love each other. Unfortunately I missed the end when David arrives in the US. Can anyone give a quick recap?

Fabulous! I mean, majorly ;)

Who else caught the former Mrs. Trump in the background at the socialite party Victoria attended? Did you see Marla Maples was there? They never showed a close up of or used audio from her but she was there -- actually the only one who didn't look like she had one too many Botox injections. Thought it intersting that they didn't mention her, but then again the show aired on The Apprentice network :)

All they showed of their arrival to the US was just the same footage you've seen already -- the walk out of LAX to the black SUVs. Nothing new there.

I really just loved her much more than I thought that I would.

i loved it! she's so nice and very funny. my fave part was when the real estate agent told her 'this house was built from the ground up' and she replied 'arent all houses built from the ground up!' that blow up doll was funny too! I've always liked them and so glad to be seeing more of them since they are in america.

I thought that was Marla Maples!! The rest of those ladies were scary looking!

Victoria's face when that lady was doing the dolphin noise....sooo funny!!! And seeing her crack a smile was a change....it made me see her alot differently. I hope they give her a series.

I turned this on during the baseball game (gasp!) and my husband was none too happy, but we ended up laughing together and really enjoyed the show. I was one of those people who thought she was a stuck up snot from her photos, but she seems really nice and funny in that dry british way.

The look on her face was priceless when the new assistant asked if she would be servicing david.....LOL

I thought she was hilarious! I laughed so many times that DH was wondering what I was watching.

I, too have only seen pictures of her but heard in the celeb pics thread that she's really funny. I never watched any clips of her.

I also thought it was funny that she hunted down Perez Hilton in the coffee shop to ask why he was so mean with her pictures. That shocked the hell out of him!

Loved it! Wish it had become a reality show. I never knew she was so funny and normal. I loved it when she met with Perez and said she couldn't be caught laughing, smiling or eating .... it would ruin her image.

The part that cracked me up the most was the vogue pose when getting her picture taken for the drivers licence. And that to her the worst part of getting pulled over by the police was that she was wearing flats.

She's very funny, but when in public she assumes everyone wants an autograph (like Bill at the DMV) and she can be a little too concerned about what she wears.

Add me to the list of new VB fans. She was a riot. I laughed out loud several times. She definitely does not take herself too serious. Knows how to work the camera. LOVE IT!

Funniest line for me was when they had the blow up doll all dressed and she said something along the lines like, "it's perfect except it's smiling."

I loved it too! She is just too fabulous! My favorite line was when they were in Lionel Richie's old house and she said, "So, Lionel Richie laid the parquet floors...whilst he was dancing on the ceiling." So funny.

Another VB fan (goodness, never thought I would say that)!
Some super funny moments for me:

The earthquake specialist; when they were under the table, and she was concerned about showing her "knickers"
Perez Hilton changing her alien antennae to a crown
The blowup doll in the car (that wig looked great when it was finished being styled!) and the paparazzi chasing it around town
The house she looked at where the walls opened up and she declared it a "death trap"
The one house she looked at where she hated the interior design: it looked like some "vomited" all that bad taste
Her opening pitch at the Dodgers game (it was a good pitch!) and the pose with the baseball player. When he asked if she was smiling and she said "yes" (not!)

I have to say it was refreshing to see a celebrity really truly come across as caring for her children, and wanting to find a home that would work for them as much as for herself.

I thought the show was a hoot. The paparazzi following around the blowup doll was a riot.

I love VB and was so excited to see the show last night. DH even seemed to enjoy it. She's hilarious! I esp. loved when she was pulled over and was most upset that she was being photographed wearing flats!

Dh and I watched it and laughed the whole way through. One of my favorite parts was when she got pulled over and the police officer asked her to step out of the car and her friend said that they would come and visit her. Hilarious!!!

I had heard rumors that she was a blast and how true. I love her, and would not mind having certain aspects of her life.

I did think the PA was a little ditzy but that probably worked in her favor.

Maybe they will do another show later on showing the first 6 months of living in the US.

OMG, I thought VB was hysterical!! I was channel surfing last night, and was instantly hooked! It was so refreshing to see a celebrity dealing with the same issues as the rest of us - dealing with DMV, trying to find friends in a new place, looking for a suitable house, etc.

Plus, it was so obvious how much she loves her family, and really puts the children first (no pics of them). And she treated everyone around her so kindly - no diva attitude.

I loved how she stuck up for for her friends. When Perez Hilton asked her which celebrity she hated, she instantly said Eddie Murphy. Go VB!!!

I just read that the show only got 4 million viewers and was beat by a repeat of Wife Swap. So sad!! I think VB is an absolute riot and completely (well, for the most part) down-to-earth. LOVE the fact that she got absolutely wasted with the BH socialites/mermaids/dolphin callers (WTF was that??!!).

Add VB to my new fav celeb list...she was hilarious!
When she was telling Perez Hilton that she couldnt eat the cookie because she couldnt let the papz photograph her eating or smiling....now you realize that all those sourpuss face pictures of her are a total act! LOL

FYI, on the show's page at NBC.com, it mentions a repeat on Thursday @ 10:00 hosted by the fabulous VB. Count me in!

I too am a convert! I didn't care much for her and her super-serious pictures I'd see slathered all over the net and magazines, but now I totally get what she is about. She is a riot and I only wish this were going to be an ongoing series NBC offered.

I'm stunned by the lack of ratings; everyone I have spoke with watched and LOVED the show! Maybe it will fare better on Thursday night.

There was a special that ran on the BBC a few years back called "Full Length and Fabulous". It's a special about David and Victoria planning a HUGE gala event to raise money for children's charities. If you liked the special that aired om NBC on Monday...you'll love this. Plus it has a lot more of David in it! Yummy! ;)

I had this in my DVR and I finally just watched. I LOVE her! She is hysterical and I think that they seem like such a sweet family. She must have said 100 times how much she missed D and the boys.

By far my fav part is when the real estate agent was giving his sales pitch on one of the homes and he said "this house was built from the ground up" and she replied "aren't all houses built from the ground up?" ;)

I also surprisingly loved the show. What I really liked was that I felt like I was laughing with her and not at her.
I think NBC should really have promoted the show a little bit more because I found Victoria Beckham incredibly entertaining.

I watched last night, only because my DH was out of town and nothing else was on. I have to say I am a fan! She is hilarious. I was laughing out loud at her. I found her very endearing and, amazingly down-to-earth. I'm surprised she is getting so bashed by it all.

My favorite stuff was when she was making fun of herself, especially with Perez. "Oh, let me get miserable before we go out." Hilarious!!!! I'm bummed this isn't going to be a series.

I didn't watch most of it but I have to say she's pretty witty.

"This home was built from the ground up!"
"Aren't most homes built from the ground up?"

I taped this last night. Victoria is really funny. I'd love to be her assistant.

That socialite luncheon was hilarious. Those women had so much plastic surgery, they either looked like trannies or cats.

We watched this last night and I have to say...I'm a HUGE fan. I totally laughed out loud. Those socialites were AWFUL. DH physically reared his head back when he first saw them.

My 3yr old DD was playing with some new babies and accessories on our bed while we were watching the show and she must have been partially listening because when I asked her if she was having fun playing with her new toys, without missing a beat, she said 'Major'. DH and I were ROLLING. VB would have been totally proud.

I hope she gets a reality show or something because I'm totally hooked.

I finally caught this last night (so happy they replayed it!) and I laughed my ass off. Those socialite women - ummm, there are no words. There are a few plastic surgeons out there who deserve a large karmic spanking for letting their patients roam the planet looking like that. *shiver*

I thought this was great - she was so funny and down-to-earth.

My question is - how did that personal assistant get that job? Because she looked/acted as if this was her first job interview, as if she'd never seen a celebrity, and as if she'd never been taught the meaning of the word professionalism. Maybe they were playing it up for the show, but she was not at all what Beckham needs. I wouldn't want her to be my personal assistant, I know that!

^^ LOL, that is too cute!:D Kids say the darndest things!

On another note....
I purposely did not read any reviews of the show, because frankly, I know it's "bad" TV, but hey, it's a reality show, it's supposed to be bad.:p ;)

VICTORIA BECKHAM: SOMETIMES SHE FAKES IT (http://janetcharltonshollywood.com/gossip//victoria_beckham_sometimes_she_fakes_it_20070720.p hp)

How UNREAL was Victoria Beckham's Coming to America "reality" show? Well, it seems most of the people on the show - including the traffic cop above - were hired ACTORS. Victoria's hairdresser and makeup artist were the real thing, but her assistant on the show was also an actress. And of course there were writing credits at the end of the "reality" show. Despite disappointing ratings, the network insists there might be another Beckham special coming up - "Christmas with the Beckhams." We'll believe it when we see it.

Looks like most of the people were actors...

Linz

That's disappointing

Oh, I totally thought the assistant was an actor. Didn't bother me, though. A lot of reality stuff is scripted in some way.

cbiggers
07-21-2007, 03:30 PM
No!!! Don't ruin it for me! I want it all to be real!

But, during the socialite scene, I could have sworn I saw Marla Maples. The camera panned her quickly, but I wasn't sure.

On the assistant, I sort of wondered if something was weird when the assistant asked "will I ever be David's personal assistant", considering the hubub of the rumors of him w/ his former assistant. I just can't imagine anyone who does the celebrity assistant thing asking that for real.

She's quite funny. I watched some clips of the show and was laughing out loud. The scene with the 'socialites' really did seem staged though, especially the dolphin lady.

I have never thought she was attractive at all, even more so after watching the clips. I don't even think I would consider her 'cute' -- even with perfect hair & professional film makeup. Just my opinion of course. I am impressed however that she carried 3 babies in that body -- she has got the body of an adolescent boy!

Brandles
07-27-2007, 06:03 AM
I read a lot of Cosmo UK and Glamour UK, so I was very familiar with her--at least the way the media portrayed her. From reading about her, I just rolled my eyes and thought she was useless. I didn't even like David Beckham--because he was HER husband. But...I watched the show and my opinion of her changed 180 degrees! I like her--she's funny! She's "in" on the joke!

I also liked the Earthquake house! Being in Ohio, we don't get anything like that. It would be neat to experience that...and always the teacher...it would be neat for school children who might never leave Ohio, let alone the area, to experience what an EQ would be like.
