Just wondering how many of you "cool" girls are from Delaware? If so, where are ya? What do you do? Kids? A song is suddenly surging through my head, "Why cant we be friends...".
To get started, I live in Dover and have a 5 year old daughter. I work as a school nurse (if you couldnt guess).

I don't live in Delaware but pretty darn close (Northern Harford County in MD). We ventured up to Newark for the first time a couple of weeks ago and discovered a delicious Vietnamese restaurant. We are waaay hurting for ethic food down here in HarCo. You two familiar with the UD area? Any recommendations for good restaurants there?

I don't live in DE anymore, but used to before we relocated to the south.

TerpsFan - I know a great Italian restaurant kind of close to the UofD.....are you into Italian?

I live in Delaware for most of the week- Milford to be exact. I live in PA on the weekends and Milford Monday-Friday.

Good restaurants in the UD area- Vita Nova, which is run by the Hotel & Restaurant Management majors is in the Trabant Student Center on the second floor. Wonderful gourmet food!

I'm also a big fan of Klondike Kate's and Iron Hill Brewery right on Main Street.

Nothing I've mentioned is ethnic... hmm. BF and I go to Jose's Border Cafe right by the Christiana Mall ALL the time. Best Mexican food we've ever had, and the atmosphere is great too!

Maybe we could all do a GTG sometime?

Loving624 - I'm currently pg so I'm up for ANY kind of food! :D

Thanks for all of the restaurant recommendations! We don't head up to DE that often since we do have some good restaurants nearby but we are in dire need of some ethic choices. If you happen to know any good Chinese, Indian, Thai, etc let me know!

Ahh, I understand. I am as well, so I know just what you mean.

The Italian restaurant was called La Casa Pasta, it's on 896, going towards Middletown. Ohmygosh that food was to die for.

I've been gone for 4 years so I'm out of the loop with most of the restaurants, but had to step in and tell you about that one!

Good lick with your little one!

oh hi!

I forgot all about this thread. I figured my sister and I were the only ones from DE on CC!

Yes I am familiar with the UD area, I went to UD!

If you are still interested in ethnic restaurants here is a link to a site listing all the restaurants in Newark. I know there is a good Indian food place up there but I forget the name.

My fave restaurant is Cafe Gelato on Main Street in Newark. Its not ethnic but it is good!

I think a GTG would be fun!

Oh cool! Lewes is so nice now, that is awesome.

Yes I think we should do a GTG then! (Or maybe when you are settled and it is warmer! ;)

I went to UD and lived in Newark until 2005. I'm in HarCo, MD, now, too. I sooo miss the Christiana mall. Just too much of a truck to pack up 2 kids and get up there.

The Italian restaurant was called La Casa Pasta, it's on 896, going towards Middletown. Ohmygosh that food was to die for.

That is where I went on my first date with my now DH. :D We went there A.LOT! Soooo yummy.
