Well, here I am again, looking for info on relocating... We've been looking at moving to Wyoming, possibly. He's been researching housing out there and it's in a range that we can afford. I've been to WY 1 time and that was driving through (on our way from Montana to Yellowstone and then down to Salt Lake City). From what I can remember (we went 4 years ago) it was a wide open state with gorgeous scenery. I do realize it snows (alot) in WY but I can handle snow (lived in AK for 8 years) and I'd rather be in cold temps than hot ones.

If we end up moving, it'd be to Jackson (Hole); Douglas or Sheridan.

Anyone live in/near any of these cities? Or ever have?
How are the schools there?
What do YOU like best about where you live?
Anything else you think I should know or concern myself with about Wyoming/these areas?

We live in Montana, you should think about moving here :D Oh, but you wanted to know about Wyoming right? ;) It is beautiful there. Dh wouldn't mind moving there, that is if we had to get out of MT. They have the most amazing sky there, it goes on forever with the big puffy clouds. The people always seem friendly when we go there. I love how open it is there, the land just goes on forever. And I love how they are really into the history of Wyoming. They really take pride in their state. People are very family oriented. Dh's company has offices there in Casper and Sheridan. Casper is our favorite city in Wyoming, I know you didn't post that city but it is a great place and I could totally live there. It is also like an hour from Douglas. Not sure if I have been to Douglas or not, if I have then I don't remember, sorry. Jackson Hole is beautiful but way OVERPRICED! Their real estate has gone insane! Also it has become quite built up which makes me a little sad. Expect to pay alot if you move there for a house. If you thought CA had crazy prices wait until you see the prices there, it is crazy, you would think they would be way less than they are! If you live outside of Jackson you could get a reasonable priced house though.

Sheridan is a good city. The people are so nice. I think their main street downtown area is really cute and they have a nice X-mas Stroll event every year. Their house prices seem reasonable.
The only bad thing about Wyoming is the wind! Sometimes it feels like living in a wind tunnel I swear. But that is really the only thing I can think of that I don't like. Hope that helped a little. I don't live there so I am just an outsider looking in. Good luck!

Ooooh thanks for the reply & info tinkerbelljenny! LoL we'd actually LOVE to live in Montana.. I have a friend who just moved to Billings and I'm oh so jealous!

Well it's looking more & more like we actually might be moving to WY. DH has a phone interview with the co. next week and the guy who's doing the interview told DH that he's at the top of the list :D He's interviewing for Jackson next week and we've been talking to some realtors about the Victor, ID area for housing prices. Looks like it might be an affordable area for us...
