Just wondering...my Grandma saw an ad on TV today for these gloves that peel potatoes, sweet potatoes and carrots. It's called the Handy Peel:

http://https://checkout.primetimesolutions.net/clients/natex/handypeel.com/?s_kwcid=potato%20peeler%20glove|827342299&gclid=CNTTpdjGm40CFR24IgodsDem2w

Does anyone have these gloves? Do they work as well as they do on TV? Or like other As Seen On TV things, are they more trouble than what they're worth? Would this be something that an older person could easily use? I'd like to get some if they work as slick as they do on TV.

Thanks! :)

Never seen the ad before but they look neat! (If they work as well as it looks like they do)

I just saw the ad for the first time this weekend, and was wondering the same thing! I say give em a try, since they are about the same price as a not so flimsy veggie peeler! Then, let the rest of us know ;)!

I don't have them, but good housekeeping did a feature where they tested 15 or so As Seen On TV products, and this one got a bad score because the vegetable has to be parboiled for them to work. Kind of defeats the time saving purpose, IMO.

AHA--that's why the skins came off so easily, then! Thank you! :)

That kinda makes sense. How disappointing!

As silly as it is I have the Rotato (http://www.amazon.com/Rotato/dp/B0004BV2MU) and it actually works really well. I have the hand crank design and it really is super easy to use as long as you can crank. They also now make an electric version. It has been the only TV thing that I have bought and it actually works really well. I mainly use it for potatos but you can peel apples and lots of other things also.

I too had the "Rotato" years ago and loved it! It really does work very well.

I let my Grandma know and she was disappointed. She thought this might be something she could get us grandchildren. Thanks for for not letting her waste $30-$40! :)
