I need some advice.

We have a dog that will be 2 August 29. We got him when he was 8-10 weeks old, and had him housetrained pretty quickly. So he has been housetrained for say, a year and a half. He has done very well. We moved at the end of March this year and he had no trouble with the switch to the new house regarding housetraining.

I am currently pregnant, due 11/18. I had a very rough first 12 weeks, sick a lot. Thru all of that, Herc was just fine.

However he has started this week going poop in the house. He still pees outside but he is pooping in the living room, and more concerning to me, in the baby's room. We have been in there a lot since finding out the sex, we have gotten the crib and we have painted, but, like I said, we have a new house and we have decorated many of the rooms. I think that he does indeed sense that something is up with this room but I dont know.

I just dont know what to do about the poop. I dont know how to fix this. When I catch him in the act or just finished I scoop him up and put him outside like we did when he was a puppy, but I'm at a loss. He has had the run of the house for so long now I'd HATE to crate him again.

I expected this when the baby got here, but we haven't stopped loving on him and giving him all of the attention that he is used to getting.

Help!!

If possible, can you contain him in a smaller area, like the kitchen, for a while until he can get back in the swing of things? Dogs generally won't poop where they eat and sleep.

I did think about that, and that's not a bad idea. He hasn't ever had this trouble so he hasn't ever been contained in just one area, he has had the run of the house for a long time now but I am certainly not against it. Anything that helps. Thanks for the advice!
