I'm just wondering if anyone on here does massage or massage therapy? I'm looking into going to school for this and was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips?
Thanks!!

Not me, but my husband is in massage therapy school and will get his license in September. He's also a musician, and it is a good, flexible way to earn extra money during the slow times.
He is focusing on therapeutic, injury-related and sports massage...the kind at a chiro's office.
For tips, I'd make sure that the school is a part of the big licensing organization...I think it's NAMTA, or similar. I'd ask about their insurance policies (you usually have to buy your own liability insurance at a student rate), their teacher credentials, and their financial aid options. Other things would be the total number of hours for licensing in your state and the surrounding states.
Have you had an informational interview at the school yet? Usually, they will give you a feel for how the experience is. We both went to DH's and it was great...they totally walked us through everything.

No I havent. I've had two schools call to set one up with me, but they are schools that are in the city or suburbs that arent very close to me and I couldnt get there after work. And since I have a lovely FT job and they dont have weekend appointments I want to make sure that this is something that really could be for me before I go taking days off of work for the interviews.
Thanks for the tips though. I guess I never would have thought about stuff like insurance.
