I have been watching Ina Garten's Barefoot Contessa show a lot lately and now I want a food processor. Problem is that I'm not sure what size to go with. Should I go with 7 or 11 cups? Please help. Thank you.

How many portions do you usually cook?
I usually cook 2-3 servings (recipies can range anywhere from 4-6) and I have been fine with my 5 C Kitchen Aid. I think I'd get the 7 cup with the small workbowl accessory if I did it all over again.
Unless you are cooking for a ton of people, I'd find the 11 to be too cumbersome to get in and out each day. The 5 is nice b/c it's small and I don't feel like it's a big production to use it.

Thank you for posting your reply. I haven't had a chance to check this thread in a while. I'm still undecided because I think that the 7 cup is perfect for me, but when I have guests, I know I'm going to want the 11 cup one.
Then again, I see the show "Jon & Kate plus 8" and Kate uses a teeny tiny food processor to feed 10 people... and I think that the 7 cup one is fine. =)

I have an 11 cup with a small workbowl as an option and am really happy. I could almost always be just fine with the smaller version - but when we are doing big batches of something I'm glad to have the larger one!
I don't think it's harder to get out the larger one than the smaller, it's all about if you have the space (and I always find getting it out at all a PITA, I doubt it being a little smaller would bother me less ;))

I have an 11-cup and have recommend to friends to get the smaller one. That said, I believe KitchenAid makes one with a couple of different sized bowls.

I have the 11-cup and think its worth it in every aspect. It may seem big, but those 11 cups fill up really fast!!
