French Bulldogs ??

I think a few people on this board own frenchies. I have a few questions for you. If you have a frenchie did you go through a breeder or a rescue shelter? For the past 6 mos or so I have been doing online searches for breeders and looked on petfinder. Petfinder doesn't have many results and breeders cost is typically $1600-1800. Is this normal? I know frenchies can be rare but that seems very steep.

I am just looking for a good place to start my research. Any links would be helpful.

Ahhh, I'm getting a frenchie puppy this Wednesday!!!!!!

He is a 12 week old male.

I am so excited. I really don't want to work today or tomorrow...I just want to get him now!!! I guess until then I will be reading the full crate training thread :)
