lil geek~I have a Kecci bag that is similar in size and fabric to what you posted. As far as size it's been fine for me, however I usually carry a small purse in addition to the diaper bag for my stuff I like doing that so I don't have to lug a big bag everywhere (like into the grocery store)

My bag usually holds 2 bottles/sippy cups, several snacks, 3-4 diapers, a wipes container, plastic bags, a few pockets of misc stuff, and a small blankie or toy on top.

And I have to echo what Kopper said about the brocade fabric snagging. I also always worry about putting it on the ground, especially if it's wet outside.

nettreefrog~I'm sorry for your frustration...The perfect bag seems so hard to find!

Yay for Amazon! I just ordered my 2 Red Hens Whole Roost bag in Serendipity. I had a gift certificate so it only cost me two dollars. I am so excited. Glad I waited for the right price. I will be using it when I take DD to work with me so I figure that I will need a big bag. I also got the 2 Red Hens diaper pack in Miss Fancy Pants for extra organization as it was $8.

I have a Skip Hop Duo in canvas (ice blue). I love it but its filthy. Does anyone have any suggestions for cleaning it without ruining it? TIA!

So glad to know that the ice blue shows the dirt. I almost bought a skip hop in the ice blue on ebay but wondered about that. I haven't seen the fabric so I don't know what to tell you. Would a Mr. Clean magic eraser work? I use that on alot of my bags and wallets and it works wonders.

lindzgirl - I've never tried the magic eraser on fabric. I may give it a shot - starting with the bottom of the bag. I knew the ice blue was a bad idea but I bought on ebay and never could win an auction for the red one. I love it aside from the dirt.

Does anyone use the Bumble Bags? I want a backpack style bag and theirs is on sale for $34 at Amazon, much cheaper than the Ju-Ju-Be I was thinking about.

isobel - I haven't used a Bumble Bag yet but here's what someone people said about the backpack on a co-op board I belong to.

My first bag was a Blue Latte Madeline and I love it. It's the perfect size for baby things and not too big on my back. The only thing I didn't like about the backpack style is that if you need something in the bottom, you have to take everything out to get to it. I use pouches so that helped a little. All that being said, now that DD is getting older and I am carrying more toys, bigger clothes, bigger diapers... I ordered a bigger messenger style bag from etsy.

I really liked the BB Madeline, as it was LIGHT as a feather packed. BUT I HATED the cup holders on the side. They're just not deep enough to hold them in.

I also have a Madeline that I carry occasionally and I do like the fact that it can hang from a stroller.

I disliked the Bumble Bag Madeline-found it not functional at all. the side pockets were worthless and it was like a black hole inside. but the fabric was beautiful!

It seems several people don't like their customer service.

Jane&Andy I have that same bag. I sprayed the dirtiest parts with OxyClean and then ran it through the washer on the gentle cycle. After that I let it air dry. It worked pretty well. It didn't get everything out (mine was really dirty!) but it helped a lot.

Looking for a bit more advice...

Yesterday I found a new bag I hadn't seen or heard of before, it's the Sugar Booger Utimate Diaper bag. I loved that it was big, lightweight, the organization and a few extras, but it was a canvas material which worries me...I think I need something more wipable. Does anyone have one or have you had experience with one?

I also came to the realization that a Fleurville Mothership or Oioi Messenger seem to be organized the way I like and are probably the only ones I find big enough for 2...Anyone with an Oioi Messenger with positive or negative feedback??

Thanks!

I have an oi oi messenger - but I only have one baby. I really like the size, and it slides over the handles of my P3 stroller - which was a must for me. Oi Oi rolls up their changing pad, but I unrolled mine and folded it into a rectangle and put it in the back pocket. It also came with a clear zippered bag, which I put all of my toiletry stuff in there (tylenol, mylicon, extra breast pads, butt paste, aquaphor, nail file, etc.) On the inside, there are one long elasticized pocket one one side and two smaller elasticized pockets on the other. In the smaller interior pockets I can fit my diapers and wipes perfectly! When I go on trips, I put about 8 (size 3) diapers on one side and probably 3-4 more diapers and wipes case in the other. (I'm terrified of being stranded without diapers!!) The two side outside pockets are nice too. We bf, but I have put a bottle of BM in the pockets before. I haven't tried a sippy yet. I just switched to a back-pack type diaper bag, but I still love my Oi Oi messenger! I have the black and white floral pattern with red interior. If you have any other questions, I'm happy to try to answer them!

Ausi~ Thanks so much for the info...I guess the only other question I have is if it's lightweight when empty?? Oh, and does it have metal feet on the bottom? How has the fabric held up? It looks like sort of a wipable microfabric, is that right??

I also have a OiOi Messenger, but I don't like mine. :o It was a gift from DH or I would have sold it. I am a medium packer and wouldn't be able to pack 2 babies. I found it too large for day to day use with 1, but not large enough for long trips/outings. If I pack too much, then I cannot get the flap to snap closed which is really bothersome when I am carrying it. My biggest issue with it is the lack of adjustable shoulder strap, I need to be able to make my diaper bags longer or shorter and it just isn't possible with this bag.

Mine does not have feet on the bottom (it is an older pattern) and it does have a few marks/stains even though I have hardly used it.

ausi2b
07-02-2007, 11:05 AM
EJM - thanks for the additional info. Like I said - I've never had to think about packing for 2, so I can't say how it would work, but I agree, sometimes it can be too big for one, but I tend to be an overpacker, especially in the beginning - I liked to put a receiving blanket in there rolled up, some toys, etc.

Gardenmommy - in re: to your questions - It is lightweight when empty, and I'm pretty sure it has metal feet on the bottom. The material is hard to explain, it is not plastic-coated like the fleurville totes, but it is definitely wipeable with a damp cloth.

I ran my Skip Hop Duo through the wash last night. It looked fine at first but once it dried I could see yellow blotches of discoloration all over it. Oh well. That was a waste! Still love the bag but I learned my lesson about canvas and light colors.

I bought a Posh Baby Bag back when they were clearing them out on some site. I saved it for our summer travel, which kicked off this last week.

It was terrific. I can't believe how much this bag held. Here's most of what was in there, but I'm sure I'm forgetting:
JJB snack capsule
sippy cup
portable dvd player in case
2 board books
a couple of toys
a big pile of flashcards
iPod
2-quart size ziplocs of toiletries
small blankie
change of clothes for DD
small packable umbrella
dipes and wipes case
a couple of magazines for me

Like I said, I'm sure I don't remember it all, but it held a ton. Even DH commented on how stuffed I had it. I don't like that the lining is black, but I knew that when I bought it (too good a deal to pass up). And, the backpack straps are not very comfortable. I wish I'd remembered to bring the shoulder strap with me to try it out. The bag itself is lightweight and the outside fabric is very durable. It has a ton of pockets which helped keep everything organized and easy to find (except for the challenge of the black lining!).

I can't see that I would ever carry a bag this big for everyday, but for travel it was perfect. We are going overseas next month and I already know that this bag will make life much easier.

JaneandAndy- I am so sorry about your bag. Maybe you will find a better color on Ebay or something. I would be so sad if I ruined a bag that worked well for me.

2 Red Hens- I got my bag from Amazon and after using it for a week, I know I have found the bag for me. I absolutely love the Whole Roost! I have gotten so many compliments on the pattern and I can't believe that I waited so long to order it.

Jane Contact Skip Hop and provide them a picture. I had a similar washing fiasco when I had a duo- no color issues but the velcro detached when I washed mine in the machine on delicate in cold water (as directed). I had to send my bag back to them but they sent me a brand new one to replace it! And I even got to pick a different color at my request!

Or the StorkSak's GiGi

My friend is having twin girls and I wanted to buy her a diaper bag for her shower. But I can't find anything that is big enough to carry double of everything. Any recs? I know she wants a nice print or girly color and the Skip Hop Double Duo doesn't come in any cute prints. Any other recommendations?

For a big bag I really like my Lexie Barnes Superstar (http://www.lexiebarnes.com/collection/BSPR.htm). They have some large totes as well. I also have a JJB Be All (http://www.ju-ju-be.com/beall.html) but it is smaller than the Superstar but it is my favorite larger bag. There is also the Fleurville Mothership.

storksak - they actually just came out with their fall 07 line so maybe you should check them out before deciding!

mia bossi maria - i just got this at a local boutique for 50% off in black. it's huge and i think will be perfect when the new baby comes since i'll have 2 in diapers. good organization and it holds a TON.

fleurville - i got a ton of bags from the seconds/ sample sale. most have no flaws i can see. i have sling totes, suzy paks, motherships, and a luxe in chocolate brown that i'm going to put on ebay. however, if you are interested, PM me with your email address and i'll email you the pics. these will be great deals for new bags.

EJM are you a heavy packer? I've seen the Be All and it seems more durable, heavier/thicker nylon material yet still pretty lightweight. The SS seems huge to me. I have a Lexie Barnes Darling for 2 kids and love it. I'm not a heavy packer but that bag fits more stuff in it than you'd think. This might be a good quick trip bag for you. This is what I currently have in there:

1 size 6 dipe
3-4 size 1 dipes
1-2 burp cloths
an extra onesie or 2 for baby
1 thing of Target antibacterial wipes
2-3 pair nursing pads
my small clutch purse (alot bigger than a wristlet)
1 tube A&D ointment

and i usually have a bottle of water for me and a sippyjuice box for dd on the outside.

and there's a little room to spare! :)

You can fit a TON in the SS. I will can take some comparison shots for you this evening and post them. The SS is huge so I don't use it a lot. I've actually been using it for my 17" widescreen laptop. It's that big! I can't find a cute laptop bag big enough for it so the SS works for now.

vjel I love love love my Darling, I use it everyday -- but apparently I am a heavy packer because I don't think I could fit 2 kids in it. I could size down now, but didn't bother with a smaller bag since I'll be sizing up soon. :) I like the look of the Be All, just not sure about the messenger flap, my main beef with my OiOi Messenger but the Be All does have the zipper closure.

Kopper Thanks, I've heard the SS is huge so maybe it would be a better long trip bag. I'll look forward to the photos!

Looking for some insight on the OiOi Herringbone Hobo Diaper Bag. If you have this bag or have seen this bag and can offer comments I would be interested in your thoughts.

I am expecting our first child in November. Since I live in an urban city and take public transportation I want something that isn't too big or heavy. My hope is that I can pack somewhat light while still getting all the must items.

http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/51dP17L4u1L._SS400_.jpg

Description: The Hobo design provides a great everyday bag for mom and baby. It features soft herringbone exterior with matching chocolate trim, an adjustable shoulder strap in rich dark chocolate, pale pink lining and accessories, two exterior side pockets for bottles, cups, wallets, keys, or cell phone, internal pockets for diapers, wipes, etc., and zip top closure. The large padded micro fiber changing pad, insulated bottle holder and pvc zipper "wet" bag for wipes, utensils, or dirty items make this diaper bag as functional as it is fashionable. Measures 13.5" high, 15" wide, 6.5" deep.

Ok here are the photos of the LB Superstar, JJB Be All and Fleurville ST side by side. Packed vs. unpacked and what went in the bags. I have a JJB Be Mine and Be Quick as well as the Kecci bag that are packed in the pic. The Be Quick has 4 size 5 dipes and a flat wipes hard case.

I have this bag (in Azure Circle print) and its great! VERY lightweight, you can fit a good amount in there but if you're packing light it doesn't totally collapse in a floppy way (I mean that in a very good way).
I used to use this bag when Bjorning DS and taking the ferry/bus/subway in NYC. Great long, slender strap for wearing it 'messenger-style' comfortably.
Get it!!!!

Kopper Thanks a million for the detailed photos!!! I love the Parfait print, that is what my Darling is. Hum, kind of makes me think that I'd get a lot more use out of the SS with 2 kiddos, especially with your comment about the Mommy pocket. Something like that drives me batty. Of course I love the look of the Be Prepared too. I'll have to wait for the fall when I can hopefully see it in person somewhere. Decisions, decisions.....;)

No problem! Glad I helped. It's funny because the SS doesn't look a lot bigger unpacked than the Be All. You can really tell the difference though when you pack them up. The Be All has a lot of structure to it even when unpacked and the SS is pretty floppy when unpacked. I love both of the bags but if I would have to pick between them I would probably pick the JJB just b/c it has so many cool features. I LOVE the Parfait print though and the fact that the SS is so big. I'm sure I will get more use out of it once we have a second child. Can't wait until the new JJBs come out. The Be Right Back and possibly Be Spicy are on my list. I'm also planning on getting another Be Mine or two.

Has anyone tried a Loom brand bag? I saw one today at a boutique and it was fabulous! It can be an over-shoulder bag or a backpack, it's very roomy inside with several pockets, easy to open when it's over your shoulder, and I love the little clutch purse attached to the side for my personal stuff that I can detach if I'm going somewhere without my baby. I am due in September and am willing to spend some $$ on a good bag and the Loom bag seems to be the closest I've found to what I'm really looking for. It was $145 at the boutique but they have it for $110 on this site (http://www.laylagrayce.com/V_loom.aspx). The one I played with at the store was the Chocolate Bandicoot w/ pink clutch. Edited to add I found the brown/pink Bandicoot bag at this site for $85 (http://www.expressivetoys.com/lobadibagwij.html). I think I'm going to order it.

No insite on the OiOi bag, however if you want a smallish compact bag that would make a fabulous quick-trip bag I would suggest this Overland Equipment bag. (http://www.ebags.com/products/index.cfm?modelID=19375&Subcategory_Link=Details_Overland%20Equipment_1937 5) I have been using this exact bag for over a year as my purse and when someone on another thread posted this as a diaper bag they use I took a long look at mine and they are right, it would work great! I still plan on having a larger bag for longer outings but this one will work great if I want something compact and light and I don't plan on being out long.

Looking for some insight on the OiOi Herringbone Hobo Diaper Bag. If you have this bag or have seen this bag and can offer comments I would be interested in your thoughts.

I have the OiOi hobo in black, and have been very happy with it. It was large enough to fit all my CD supplies in it (which are slightly bulkier than disposables), a large burp cloth, change of clothes and my purse, keys, sunglasses, phone and a little makeup. I liked that it looks like a normal purse, and is well organised inside. The change mat is very bulky IMO, and I've recently (after 1.5 years) taken it out and put in a disposable change mat, as I can fit so much more in the bag without it. Now, I fit 2 diaps, a change mat, wipes, face cleaning wipes, a bib, assorted toy cars, board books and stickers, his water bottle, and then my stuff. It still has extra room in it too.

ETA: I'm an urban mom too :)

anenome - Thanks for the feedback. The thought of the diaper bag looking like a purse is very appealing though this does mean I'll need another bag for DH as he will refuse to be seen holding my new "purse."

kopper - I went ahead and got the bag off the mamas and munchkins sight using the discount code. Thanks for leading me to that! I swore that I would never get into the diaper bag craze though that first Fleurville you posted is calling me.

Hi - Does anyone have a recommendation for me.. my DS is 16 months so when we go out i don't really carry extra clothes for him. But would like a diaper bag that looks more like a purse. But someone that can give me their personal opinions... I have so many but want one that I can definitely use after he out grows the diaper bag phase...

I am also torn because it seems that a backpack maybe easier since I am running around so any recommendations on both backpacks and more purse like diaper bags would be great..

TIA

Emi - A OiOi might work for you or any of the other hobo bags. There are some great leather bags out there but they get pretty pricey. I think it depends on how much you want to spend, material and size. I have a Baby Kaed Jaipur but it is pretty large.

Thanks! I didn't pay that much for it. No way could I convice DH to spend that much on a diaper bag. I got it through a co-op for a little over 1/2 that. DH still didn't want me to spend that much but used some settlement money that was mine from a lawsuit. I figured if I was going to put the vast majority into savings I deserved something fun so I bought the Jaipur.

I would really like to try the OiOi hobo. I like the prints but the solids are nice as well. This one caught my eye.

Help! I need a bigger diaper bag. I'm currently using a Fleurville Sling Tote and it's not big enough. In the diaper bag, I usually carry 4 diapers, 2 disposable changing pads, ointment, sanitizer, wipes, 1 bottle of water, 1 baby bottle, bib, cloth diaper, some toys, extra outfit, and a blanket.

I'm considering the Kitchen Sink Tote. Does anyone have it?

Any other suggestions for a large bag? Thanks!

I'm sure this has been asked about a thousand times, so can someone point me in the direction of posts about bags good for two kids? I carry an anna william diaper bag now that I looooooove, but I don't think it's going to be big enough for me for two kids. I read the info on the Be Prepared and that looks like the size bag I would need. The new line is coming out in the fall?

Do you mean the one by Luv My Bag? I have one - it is definitely big! I really like it - I can fit absolutely everything into it. A couple of cloth diapers/wetbag, change of clothes, sunscreen/diaper cream/lip balm/lotion/sanitizer/etc., a couple of disposable diapers, my wallet and phone, sippy cup, and probably a lot more than I'm remembering right now. My sister actually saw mine and bought one too because the one she was using was just too small. I also have a Pottery Barn quilted tote which is a bit smaller but still a good size for everything I carry around.

The purple paisley is definitely my favorite print. I tend to change my bag to go with the season, though-I hope they come out with more patterns! I'm not a heavy packer now with a toddler, but I was with an infant. DS will be in pre-school a few months after #2 is born (and hopefully potty trained), so it's possible I won't need a big bag anymore at that point. I checked the Ju Ju Be site and it looks like I'll have to travel an hour to see it in person.:(

The Be Prepared is more of an all day out or travel bag for us. Even with two kids, I prefer something a bit smaller for just dashing in and out of stores (Petunia Touring Tote). However, for a day out at an amusement park (just did SeaWorld) or even a trip to the regular park, it is excellent. I love the stroller clips, the zipper close, and all the pockets.

dollface - If you join the babybags (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/babybags/message/94952) group I found some great pictures of the Emily on there. It looks like a great bag! 1/2 price is a great deal. What color did you order?

EJM - I think the Be Spicy will be my next bag. I have a Be Smart on the way though so it will be awhile.

LeslieR -I saw a Be Prepared on Wednesday. It's a really nice bag but huge unless you pack A LOT of stuff. She bought it to use as a travel bag and it will be great for that. I would not want to use it as an everyday bag. I've been using my Be Small and Baby Kaed lately so the Be Prepared was gigantic compared to them. My Be Right Back is PP and it's a great pattern for that bag. JJB should have more patterns this spring if you can wait. :D

* Kalencom Weekender

Does anyone have a JP Lizzy bag? Looking for a little feedback on how functional their bags are. I have an adorable JJB Packabe, which fits a ton of stuff and is easy to carry as a backpack. Looking for another bag that is more of a tote style as well. Any thoughts on the JP Lizzy?

So I have been using my Emily Stork Sak for about a week and I love it! I have been using my Gucci bag since he was born and it is great, but the Stork Sak is much more convenient. The opening to the Emily seemed a bit small but I haven't found it to be a problem. It has a ton of compartment, is very roomy and very comfortable to carry. I have found I am much more organized with this bag as well. The side pocket is great - it kept DS yogurt chilled the entire time we were out. All in all - a great bag at a great price!

Adjustable shoulder strap with gold hardware and contrast stitching.
Dual side zip pockets are thermo-insulated and will keep fluids warm or cold for up to 5 hours.
Padded changing mat
Detachable inner bag for wipes or make-up
Cell phone pocket
Multiple inner pockets to store you and your child's items.
Wipe clean lining.

If the pewter color ever goes on sale - I am going to get that one too!

Heidi - the only thing I don't care for about that bag is the fact that it doesn't have a way to hang on the stroller. It's a little thing - but I realized it's a huge thing when you can't hang it! Also, some outside pockets would be nice.

Heidi9771

thanks dollface! I didn't even think about the stroller compatible issue/outside pockets, and I can see how that would definitely come in handy. This will be our first child, and it's hard to figure out at this point what would be good features to have in a bag.

Heidi, it's really personal preference and you'll probably need to go through a couple bags to find the fit and style you like best. In the past 2 years, I've had 8 different bags. The one I have now is my favorite style and I have two in different patterns. You might want to go to BRU or Target-somewhere that has a lot of different diaper bag styles you can see and try on in person. You can hang them on the strollers they have in store, stash them in the stroller basket, etc. You can even stuff the bags with items in the store to get an idea of how it feels. I wish I had done this when I was pregnant last time. I just found a bag at BRU that I fell in love with the print and therefore I had to have the bag. It's a messenger style and totally unpractical for me. My mom bought it for me, so I feel like I have to hang onto it even though I'll never use it again. Anyway, just a few thoughts. HTH!

I would be really careful with them. I know some moms have tried them and they will sometimes take the color off of the bag. I would do a test first if you go that route.

Kecci bags are supposed to be machine washable. I've never washed mine but I know some people have.

Yep the Sling Tote would be too small.

I'm a Ju Ju Be girl so I would recommened the Be Prepared. I talked a mom into getting one awhile ago because she travels with her baby a lot. She raves about it and says it is perfect for traveling. It can fit a ton! I don't have one myself but have seen hers and it's a nice bag with tons and tons of organization.

ETA... I've traveled with my Lexie Barnes Superstar and it was a nice size bag. I'm a heavy packer though and I still felt it was a little too small. When fully loaded it was pretty heavy and didn't sit very well on my shoulder. The strap felt too flimsy/small.

EJM

I was going to suggest the JJB Be Prepared, the Lexie Barnes Superstar, or a Mia Bossi Caryn (medium to heavy packer)/Maria (heavy packer).

I am obsessing over a couple of bags. I am not an overpacker, but would like a little extra room (however, do not want the bag to be too big or too heavy). Also would love for it to look like a purse. The ones I like:
Storksak Emily

Nest North by South

JBB - I have that exact Petunia Pickle Bottom bag and I love it. It is beautiful and I get compliments whenever I use it. I am a heavy packer and I easily fit everything I need in there. I really liked having the option of wearing it as a backpack when DD was younger so I could have both hands free to hold her. The only con I have found is that the brocade fabric snags easily, but I have been careful with it and it still looks great after a year. Granted it is just one of several diaper bags that I use, so it has not taken too much abuse.

Hi ladies! I need your help here. I really love the look of the Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bags - can those of you who have one give me some recommendations? What style do you like the best? I will need a diaper bag for one child. Also, how practical is the fabric? It just looks to me like it may not be as practical as one you can wipe clean. But I really love how they look!!

Thanks! :)

ETA: Okay, I just noticed that some of you were discussing the PPB bags above - but I'd still love to hear more!

I really like the PPB backpack style. The fabric is pretty delicate, so there are certain places I choose to carry my Skip Hop instead (baseball games, parks, etc.). But I LOVE that it can go into a backpack. I wear my baby almost all of the time when we're out of the house, and it's really handy to be able to put it on my back or sling it across my shoulder (depending on how I'm wearing my baby right then). I don't think I'll ever buy another bag that can't be worn both ways again.

Thanks karlatta! The backpack style seems to be one that a lot of people like. Guess I might need to make a trip to look at some of their bags!

Just wanted to chime in that I am getting the emily Storksak in pewter for Christmas, and I found it (I had to order it since my dad is clueless!) at boutiquetoyou.com and got 15% off with the code CASTYLE15, and the bag was 160$ so I got it for $136, not too bad. I LOVE the pewter color and cannot for 2 more weeks to use it!

Ooh Linnybubbles - that is awesome! Make sure to come back and report how much you love it. And if it isn't too much trouble - I'd love to see some "real life" pictures! I can't get a handle on what the fabric is like! I've been lusting after a brown and black one at Buy Buy Baby!

Okay...I've narrowed down my choices to the Ju-Ju- Be Smart or the Be All. I have 2 in diapers (hopefully one is almost potty-trained) and a 3rd on the way. I'm not a heavy packer, but I will have a newborn again next year, so which one is the better choice? I like the looks of the Be Smart, but the straps look a little short. The Be All seems like it might be easier to carry. I also love the looks of the Be Prepared, but it seems way to big for me to carry everyday. I could also go for the Be Spicy, but it also looked like it may be a tad too big as well.

Also, I can't decide on the color - perky perennials, blue bouqet, lush paisley or purple paisley??

On the subject of JuJuBe's I just got the Be Spicy in Purple Paisley for Christmas (a couple of weeks early ;)) and I love it. Right now I just have one kiddo but we cloth diaper so I needed the extra space for the fluff. I'm totally digging all the great pockets, the wonderful strap/handles, and of course it's style. Too bad they didn't have these 9 months ago. I totally could have packed more during my over-packing stage, but even now it's not too big. I can still carry it a la messenger style if I want or just throw the tote straps on my shoulder.

I'm in the market for a new diaper bag. I have 5 already ( I need to put some of them on ebay). Right now I'm using one I got at WalMart a couple months ago by Carters. I want one medium sized with lots of compartments. I want something fun colored. What do you ladies suggest? I like something on the more fashionable side. I don't like things with baby things on it like winnie the pooh or disney characters.

I just ordered this one of off amazon. The Skip Hops were recommended to me to get as they have alot of organization. I need that since I take DD to the office with me and she is almost one and so it seems like I am always losing the different things that she needs. Hope I like the color. I wasn't sure and then after I ordered it I realized I liked the olive color better.

I too need to sell my old ones on Ebay as I don't want to store them anymore.

I'm having neck & shoulder problems and am looking for a cute but functional backpack that will eventually hold stuff for 2 kids.

Does anyone have/or seen this Timi and Leslie backpack? (Ack, I was going to post the picture, but evidently Flickr is having a "massage"). Here's the link -- http://www.dimplesanddandelions.com/product_details.asp?Product_ID=8718

I'm also debating on the Ju Ju Be Packabe, but I'm not sure I want the bright print for everyday wear....

Thoughts?

Taurus
01-12-2008, 03:04 PM
TOMama- The Ju Ju Be's aren't all bright prints, you could get a more neutral one. I love the Ju Ju Be bags for several reasons, but they are heavy. Personally, I don't like bags with flaps (like the one you posted) and having been lately using a tote bag that has mesh pockets on the sides perfect for sippys and bottled water, I can't imagine losing that feature. I also want to try a backpack now, so I just ordered a Lexie Barnes Duchess backpack (http://lexiebarnes.com/collection/BDCH.htm). I'm not crazy about any of the prints, but they half off right now (last year's line...they aren't doing the backpack in this year's line) so I found one I like enough and it is on its way to me. I know the LB bags are really lightweight, which is important to me.

Taurus - I forgot about weight... yeah, I definitely need something light. I'm using a fleurville slingtote right now and it's heavy without anything in it (at least it's heavy to me :p)

Thanks for the heads-up on the LB Duchess! I hear what you're saying on their print selection, but for that price I think I could live with the "baja" print.

Hmm... probably it would be. I'm 5'4" and it feels a little big to me but still really comfy. It is bigger than the backpacks I had in college. I would say you should probably see one in person before buying since they aren't cheap.

I just bought a chocolate brown and tan baby sac diaper bag off ebay. I'm a little concerned on how well it's made. new to the thread, so i apologize if this has already been covered. do you think the petunia picklebottom backpacks would be big enough for 2 kiddos? i don't actually HAVE two kids yet, but i'm thinking long term! :) also, how many "organizational" things are included, like pockets, etc?

01-14-2008, 07:05 PM
So I got my Skip Hop in the mail today and was so dissapointed. Needless to say it is being returned. First off the colors are ugly not at all like in the picture and then no organization whatsoever which is why I ordered it. I need a very organized bag since my daughter is with me in our office all day and I usually have her stuff and mine in there.

So are the Fleurville Motherships as good as people say they are? I like the colors but I am not sure. Any advice? Any other brands of bags that are out there?

Taurus
01-14-2008, 10:32 PM
steelcity--Sorry, I don't have any experience with the PPB bags since they have never appealed to me. The fancy fabric would be a problem for me. I did just see a woman at a boutique buying one that was in a wipe-able fabric, but it had two other features I have learned I don't like--velcro and a large flap to be opened every time you open the bag. I hope you get some feedback to help you though!

lindzgirl--what kind of organization are you looking for? one main section that has various pockets inside? A bag with one main section divided up into different sections? How much of "your stuff" do you need it to hold, and what type of stuff?

I used to think I needed a bag with lots of organization, but then I realized that since I switch bags occasionally and sometimes only have one child with me or am going out for a shorter/longer time, the key for me is having different black mesh bags that I group things in and put inside a bag that has a big main section for all the baby stuff. My priority is outside, separate, easy access to my mommy stuff--keys, cell phone, wallet, lipstick. ETA: I can see how my needs might be different if I knew I was only going to use one bag all the time.

...

I got my Lexie Barnes Duchess backpack today. It's not my dream bag (I'm still searching), but it is so lightweight, which is fabulous, and it is going to be really nice to have a backpack option now that I've got two kids. The biggest problem I have with it (and this is pretty obvious from the pictures, so it's not a big surprise) is that the outside pockets aren't big enough for the mommy things I mentioned above, which I really prefer keeping on the outsides of my bags, separate from all the baby stuff and with easy access. Pretty much the only thing that fits well in the two front outside pockets is my cell phone. There is a small pocket on the very top that zips closed (and is made for a cell) but my change-purse-sized wallet fits up there. I like to be able to throw my keys in an outside pocket of my diaper bags, and I'll have to really shove them into one of the small pockets on the outside. It is also not as deep (front of bag to back of bag) as I would like. The width (side to side) and height are perfect though (I'm 5' tall.) Still, I was able to fit everything I carry on a regular basis for two kids, and there is plenty of extra room for the things I often add, such as food for DS1 or a blanket/hat for DS2.

I like the one big main compartment since I use mesh organizers as I described above. There are a few teeny pockets inside that I can't imagine fitting more than a pacifier. My lipsticks are in one of them, but I'd prefer having a place for these on the outside. The side mesh pockets seemed a bit small when I first saw them, but on either side I was able to fit a Munchkin-brand flip-top sippy with no problem. The fabric is totally washable, and I like that it is a floral but "muted," not some crazy bright print. I got the retired Viona print.

I LOVE the big front zip section that is the perfect size for the changing pad and wipes and diapers. Right now I have the changing pad and wipes in there along with a thick notebook (that I don't usually carry but has all my TO DO lists for DS2's bday party) and the diapers are in the main section. However, now that I think about it, I am thinking about putting the changing pad and the wipes in the main section since there is room and using that front section for all my stuff, so it is not so spread out throughout the bag. That might make me like this bag more. Off to rearrange! :D

Overall, a good buy for the great price I paid. Let me know if anyone needs any specific pictures.

I think I'm going to suck it up and get a StorkSak Emily. I have been lusting over this bag for months, but now I can't decide what color to get it in! I usually switch between my Oi Oi bag in the black/white floral print and my black microfiber Vera Bradley diaper bag. So I guess I should get brown? I looked at the VB large backpack the other day and love the backpack concept for two kids, but feel it's not organized enough for me. I like lots of pockets inside and the VB has none. It seems like the Duchess has some, but they're small?

Leslie-The main compartment of the Duchess does not have any organization to speak of. The three small pockets can each hold a tube of diaper cream or a pacifier and that's about it. The big outside pocket can hold wipes case, dipes and the mat.

The problem I have discovered w/ the Duchess is that I think the bag makes me look really young. Just don't love the LB prints...

Taurus did a great review, so I'll just add my thoughts.

I've had the backpack about a week now and so far it's working out great. Actually have received a lot of compliments. It's a lot lighter than my Fleurville Slingtote & Mia Bossi Caryn. Agree with Taurus that the pattern is a bit "youthful". In fact, my pattern (baja) has little skulls hidden amongst the pink & white flowers -- but you only notice it if you're really examining the bag.

At first glance it looked too small (too thin), but I was pleasantly surprised that the following fit into the bag, and there's still a little spare room:

Front Compartment-- My stuff: Huge wallet, Sunglasses, my snacks, coupons, water bottle.
Back Compartment-- Son's stuff: 5 snacktraps, 4 diapers in a drawstring bag, wipes case, changing pad, diaper creme & other random snacks stuffed in the teeny, tiny pockets. A small Thermos & cooler sack also fit without a problem.
Small Pocket at top of bag-- Keys & cell phone
Side mesh pockets-- easily hold DS's straw & sippy cups.
2 Outside pockets-- they're pretty small but I did put one of DS's sippy cups in there as well as a couple of small toys.

I'm not sure if it's going to be big enough for a toddler & infant though. DS is going to have to lose some of his snacks! I wish there was a 3rd compartment so I can keep extra clothes & other infant stuff away from the snacks. Also wish the inside pockets were bigger, what were they thinking?

But for the price and the ease of carrying things around, it's a good bag. It's now on sale at ebags for $53.

LeslieR - Have you looked at the JJB Be Right Back (http://www.ju-ju-be.com/berightback.html)? If the Duchess is too small when #2 comes along, I'll probably check that one out. It seems like it has a lot of great organization. A couple of my friends have the Baby Sherpa & Dad Gear backpack and say they're very functional.... but they're unisex and not very stylish.

oof, I forgot about this thread! Thanks Taurus and TOMama for your reviews of the Duchess! It does sound pretty big, but not as organized (lack of internal pockets) as I would like.

TOMama, thanks for posting about the Ju Ju Be-that looks promising! We are getting a USABaby here soon, so I might actually be able to see it in person.

That storksack Claire reminds me of the Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy Backpack (http://www.petuniapicklebottom.com/collections/original/boxybackpacks/camelliaroll/). Not sure why-the shape maybe? I drool over their fabrics.:p

I've been carrying my Baby Kaed - Jaipur for the last few weeks but before that I was carrying my OiOi hobo. I'm a JJB girl for the most part but really fell in love with my OiOi and am also loving my Baby Kaed.

QOTD 2: What bag is on your wish/dream list?
I would love a Not Rational Hansel

Hi, I'm new to this thread. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a diaper bag that's pretty big and has a zipper closure. Right now I have the Fleurville Mothership. It's big, but doesn't always fit everything and I hate the snap button closure.

Leslie~ I saw that bag in person at Nordstrom several months ago and was surprized at how small it was. It would NEVER work for me with even 1 kid, let alone 2, and I am a light packer. It had about 4 pockets inside IIRC.

Hope I didn't burst your bubble.

Good to know! Thanks for posting that.

Kopper, I've never carried a packpack diaper bag, so this is all new to me. We were just on vacation in FL and I can't tell you how many times I wished I had a backpack! Do you think the BRB would be a good day to day bag for two kids?

QOTD~ What bag are you carrying right now?

I use the Fleurville G-Luxe most days.
http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb228/gardenmommy_photos/cc%20photos/g_luxe_white.jpg

I love it because it has one big central compartment for dipes, wipes and large items, and a big compartment on each side so I keep DD's sippies and snacks on one side and DS's bottles on the other. It also has 2 outside pockets for my keys, phone etc.

My only gripe is sometimes I wish the straps were longer:rolleyes:

I also use my PPB toddler tote for really lite trips.

I have been looking for the right bag for a while now and finally found it. My biggest problem has been one that has enough room for my stuff and DD's stuff and doesn't cost $100 or more. The one I was using had room for my wallet and phone but not much else for me.

What I'm carrying now: I found this Overland Equipment bag (http://www.bagsbuy.com/overland-equipment-carmel/231802/496760) and even though it's not officially a diaper bag, it's pretty much exactly what I have been looking for. The front pocket has two compartments, one that fits my wallet and keys and has 2 pockets for my phone and sunglasses. The other fits my dayplanner, mints and gum. Both have a little room to spare in case I Need to toss in a snack or a couple of granola bars. The corner pockets hold a water bottle on one side and baby bottle or sippy on the other, and the center compartment is larger enough for diapers, travel pack of wipes, changing pad from another bag, change of clothes, blanket, 2 toys, container of formula, bibs and some wash cloths for spit ups and spills. There is also a flat pocket on the back for papers or a magazine. The flap is velcro and I have no trouble opening and closing it since I don't have to bother with snaps or latches or anything.

Dream bag: Nothing specific but I'm looking for a backpack to take when I go visit my Mom with DD in March for a week (flying). Suggestions would be great, though I have some good ideas from reading a few pages back. Inexpensive is better and as you see, I don't care if its an "official" diaper bag as long as it has the right stuff.

QOTD:

Right now I'm using the old style Vera Bradley black microfiber diaper bag. It is a little big for my needs right now (DS is 14 months and is off of bottles - only sippies). But I like that it looks chic and isn't a super loud print.

QOTD2: I have my annual review at work tomorrow, and if it goes well (fingers crossed!) I am going to buy myself a storksak emily. I just can't decide what color to get - black or brown ...

kopper - I have that Not Rational bag and I have to say, it's "not rational" as a diaper bag! ;) The leather is very soft and not structured at all, and it's next to impossible to find anything inside the bag (so I wind up organizing everything in smaller bags/cases that I put inside). but it is beautiful ;)

Ok, so scratch the "price is an issue" deal from my dream diaper bag-back pack. I found out today that I'm going to be getting a chunk of money in a couple of weeks and I decided I am going to splurge and get the JuJuBe PackaBe (http://www.ebags.com/ju_ju_be/packabe/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=87668). My only problem now is deciding which pattern to get! It seems big enough and versatile enough for travel, and OMG it's damn cute!

After months of months of buying, and then after the baby was born, months of trying out my various diaper bags.... here is what I narrowed my collection down to (keep in mind, I'm a first time mama who loves to pack everything ;))

JuJuBe Be Prepared:
It's extra heavy when packed, but I hang it on my heavy duty stroller on our all day outings. I love all the pockets and zippered compartments. It's rather bulky, but I've learned to live with it and I'm just happy to have EVERYTHING with us when we are out all day.

From those of you that ordered PPB from the big sale, did you get a fed-ex confirmation yet? According to the website, you get an order confirmation email (which I received), an order completed email (which I also received) and then within 24 hours you are supposed to receive your fed-ex shipping number. I ordered on Friday morning and still haven't received my fed-ex receipt yet. I'm not too worried, but I like to get to my bags and packages before DH intercepts them :)

IMO, nope. :) FWIW, I couldn't fit enough for 1 kidlet! IIRC, it has a velcro pouch inside and two smaller pockets that fit diapers and wipes. Could be more pockets but I'm spacing out now - haven't used it in a while. I think the attached changer kinda sucks up too much space in the bag.

Lilo - I really like my SS Emily. I switched it out and am using the OiOi hobo right now b/c DS's sippy cup exploded in the Emily (just water thank goodness!). It is a little heavy when all packed up, but I think I'm comparing it more to the hobo, which is ridiculously light. I love it b/c it doesn't scream baby bag to me. I'm still wishy washy on whether I should have gotten it in brown over the black. Brown would probably be best for the spring/summer, but I don't know. I'm mostly trying to convince myself that I don't need the same exact bag in just a different color :) Have you seen the pewter? It is awesome!

FYI - they have it at Buy Buy Baby and you can use coupons for it (which is what I did). But just know that since I work FT, I usually only carry a diaper bag on the weekends so I might not carry the same amount as most other people that would carry stuff daily.

I just took a week long trip to visit Grandma with my 6m old. It was our first plane flight and I wanted to only take one carry on for both of us. I looked at a lot of official diaper bags but none of them seemed to have enough room or enough organization space for my things and hers (besides most of them being way to spendy). I found this backpack on www.ebags.com (http://www.ebags.com/jansport/big_student_pack/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=75053) that was PERFECT.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2207/2343916588_81d1910bea_o.jpg

Between the 2 large compartments I fit all of the feeding, diapering, clothing, toys, blanket and the smaller compartments up front fit my snacks and personal items, wallet etc. It fit under the seat and worked better than I would have thought. I just slipped the changing pad from my other diaper bag in and it was all good. I packed a smaller diaper bag flat in my suitcase to use once I got there. I like that it is cute too with 10 color options and only $32.

I just got a SS Claire and am in love. It is a great bag. tons of room and I love that it has two outside zipper compartments on one side - one for my wallet and one for cell/phone keys - as well as a large pocket on the opposite side. I also like the insulated bottle zipper pockets on the side. They supposedly keep drinks hot/cold for up to 5 hours.

One downside is I chose it because it could convert to a backpack. I tried it that way and actually don't like it. The straps don't adjust well enough for throwing it on quickly, so I just use it as a messenger bag which works just great. I'm just not a fan of the shoulder tote for me.

It's not returnable or exchangeable, that's why I'm asking for input from people who have received a similarly labeled item.

04-24-2008, 05:12 PM
At the last PPB sale, I bought the PPB toddler tote as a cert. second. My experience was that it was outwardly fine - the label inside was cut in half and the bag was far more wrinkly than the backpack styled PPB bag I bought in Babystyle 2 years ago. No rips or tears or flaws that I could see.

In all, for the price, I was pleased -- the wrinkles (went away with wear) were the biggest issue, and for me, a non-issue.

ausi2b
04-25-2008, 07:32 AM
Laura - it is kind of a crapshoot. On their web site it explains what the possible flaws could be. It could be something like the outside packaging was damaged, but the bag was perfect - or it could be a snag in the fabric - or even a stain on the fabric. That is probably not the answer you want to hear, but I just thought I would pipe up and let you know.

laura
04-25-2008, 11:29 AM
Yeah, I read the description on the site but I was just wondering what people have actually experienced - ie. if there was a sense that *most* of the flaws were non-obvious or just packaging, etc. vs. visual damage to the bag. Not a big deal, just thought I would ask. Thanks for the input!

Does anyone have a Bumble Bags Jessica? If so, how do you like it? What can you pack in it? Would it be a good bag for two kids (an infant and a not yet PT almost 3 year old)?

I have been debating the PPB Boxy Backpack off and on for a while now and finally went to see one in person today. I liked everything about it except the fact that it doesn't have enough pockets inside. I can't seem to figure out from the descriptions I've read online if the Jessica has more pockets than the Boxy Backpack or not. Anyone know? Unfotunately, the store I went to had some Bumble Bags, but not the Jessica. I fell in love with the Buttercup Bliss pattern while I was there, so that's not helping me make up my mind at all.

So, I want to get a new diaper bag. I currently have a Bumble Bag Jessica. I like the pattern, but that's about it. I need something with more 'compartments' so I can keep my stuff neater - right now, I feel like everything is just thrown in there. I don't even carry the bag that often (weekends only) - but if I had something I liked better, maybe I would carry it more on the weekends? For now I tend not to bring it unless I have to (and it's not even that big). I used to be able to just get away with bringing some diapers and wipes with me, but now that DS is on solids and I want to be able to bring sippy cups and what not, I need something with more organization.

Ideally it would have a place for wallet/cell phone/camera (as small as a cell phone), diapers/wipes, sippy cups / food, plus some extra room for small toys and maybe room to throw in extra clothes / baby carrier. Guess I'll need sunblock too.

I'll probably need to look into a separate bag for the beach - but not worrying too much about that now.

I'd like something not too big/heavy with lots of internal organization, preferably under $100. Bonus if I can hang it off the stroller (or fit it underneath) and if it's stylish ;)

Any recommendations from the diaper bag gurus?

Thanks!

Robyn, thanks for posting that about the Jessica. I had asked for input on that bag two posts from yours! I thought that was a huge bag with lots of pockets. I guess not, huh?

Sorry, I'm no help in your search as I'm looking for a bag much like you describe. From an organizational standpoing, I'm thinking about the Ju Ju Be Packabe or the BeRightBack. You can see interior shots on the Ju Ju Be web site. The BeRightBack is bigger, but not as many pattern choices. I like them a lot from the looks of it online-I'ver never seen one in person, though. I do wish it didn't look so much like a backpack, if that makes sense at all.

I'm also drooling over the Oi Oi Blue Floral Backpack, but I don't think it has enough pockets. Plus the interior is brown which makes me think I'll be digging for things a lot. I mostly just love the pattern.:p

Whoops - I should have looked back and I would have responded. I'm pretty sure it's the jessica I have - it can be a messenger bag or a backpack? it has two pockets on the back outside of the bag - I can stick papers and such in - 2 pockets by the changing pad - also thin - 2 bigger pockets in the body of the bag where i put diapers and wipes, makep, brush, sunscreen. Then there's the body of the bag - and that's where I wind up searching for things b/c there's no organization and everything moves around. There are 2 small pockets on the side instead - one with a snap where I keep my camera and the other is just open - I keep a small antibacterial soap in there. The top of the bag flaps over and snaps - so if I try to put too much in - or its bulky it doesn't stay closed and I wind up fighting to close it. It also has no bottle holders or anything. I just feel like everything winds up thrown in there and I'd like something w/ some organization. On the bright side , I got mine for like half les than retail during an Amazon sale. I've used it for nearly 10 mos, so I feel like its "ok", but i'd really like something better - esp. now that DS is eating solids and stuff and I need to take more with us.

HTH!

If it helps, Leslie, the Packabe would not be big enough for me with me two kids. I am considering a BeRightBack, too. I already tried and sold the LB Duchess. It was not quite big enough, and I felt like a kid with it on my back. I'm not crazy about the BeRightBack either, but I feel like I can't find a bigger backpack. Right now my everyday bag is the Skip Hop City Chic. (Robyn, I think you would like it.). My only complaints are the patterns aren't great, and the mommy part (separate clutch) is a tad too small for my stuff. I can't fit my camera in there so I keep it in main compartment, and when my lipstick, small wallet and cell phone are in it, I can only *barely* bit my keys in there--and I like to keep all my mommy stuff in one place. I thought I'd never use the clutch as a clutch, but I do find I grab it when I am running out of the house alone. I love how this bag hooks on my stroller.

I carry:
cell phone, lipstick, wallet
camera
wipes and two sizes of dipes
one zippered pouch with sunblock, diaper rash cream and stain wipes
one larger zippered mesh cube with disposable utensils, bibs & tabletopper, and often an applesauce or something similar
1 burp cloth
a toy or two
1-2 sippy cups and/or water bottles
bag of snacks
usually some combo of light blanket/nursing cover/light jacket/soft baby carrier

I'd love to be someone who can carry a smaller bag, but with the things I just listed on that last line above, my bags always runneth over!!!

hmm, Robyn, i just realized you said not heavy and under $100--the city chic doesn't fit the bill. you said not too big, either, but it is hard for me to ever fit extra clothes or a baby carrier in a bag that isn't "big"!

the Ju-Ju-Be BeAll sounds perfect for you, but they are known to be heavy. I used to have an old-style one when I just had DS1 and it was lighter (less hardware on the strap, etc.) it sounds exactly like what you are looking for. i found that in the end i tired of the messenger-flap design, but it was a great bag for a long time for me.

Leslie, i have the dimensions of about 12 bags written down, including all the backpacks! i am always searching...let me know if you'd like to post them!

Taurus, thanks for the thoughts! I guess I should have waited one more day...I ended up ordering a Packabe late last night. argh. I hope it works out for me. I know I can sell it if not, but I was hoping to have "the perfect" bag ready to go before the baby gets here (I'm due 6/2). With any luck DS will be PT shortly after baby arrives!

Leslie, I'm sure you'll get use out of the Packabe even if it's not "perfect"--does that exist? :) I like having different bags for different needs with the two boys. Let us know how it works out (I've never had a Packabe, I've just assumed from looking at them that they would be too small for us), and good luck with the upcoming birth.

Thanks - that looks pretty cool - I will have to check it out. I was also looking at the Ju-Ju Between but not sure how that would be.

If I weren't an overpacker, I think I'd be immediately buying this (http://www.ebags.com/amy_michelle/madison_avenue/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=107942):

Attaches to stroller and converts to backpack!

Dimensions are 15 x 12.5 x 4 compared to Lexie Barnes Duchess 15 x 11 x 4.5

Thoughts?

Taurus, that looks like a great bag! too bad it doesn't come in any patterns. I'm really wanting something springy right now.

The order I had for the Packabe got canceled due to the bag being out of stock.:( BUT, I found an even better deal today at creativekidstuff.com. They have free shipping on orders over $100, so I got a Packabe in Lush Paisley for $84, a BeQuick in Black/Silver for $11.20, and a Paci-Pod in Silver/Blue for $5.60! I'm so excited. I can't wait til it gets here!:D

Okay I am totally desperate to find a new diaper bag and this one looks pretty cute. I currently have a Fleurville sling tote but it is to the point it just isn't big enough. What I love about it is that it has tons of pockets and I want a bigger bag with lots of pockets. Do you know how this one compares size wise to the sling tote? I am trying to find a pic of this bag that shows what the inside looks like before I order one. Are there lots of pockets?

If anyone else has any suggestions for a bag, I'd love to hear them!:)

I wanted to suggest the Lexie Barnes Superstar as a good bag for 2 kiddos. It's not for everyone, but I love it.

Suzly-I've never had a Sling Tote. The dimensions themselves aren't *that* different from the City Chic I posted, but the main differences for me are one is a taller, narrower bag vs a wider, shorter bag. (Personally, I like the wide and short for the way I pack.) Plus, your stuff goes in the clutch on the City Chic and there are two outside pockets for sippies or bottles, so those things would not go inside the main compartment--so I can't imagine that you could get more in the Sling Tote, but I could be wrong I suppose. The City Chic has four internal pockets along the inside of the bag, plus two small pockets that the stroller clips slip into when not in use. I can take a pic if you'd like.

ETA: The changing pad is in its own separate pocket along the back side of the bag, so it also does not take up space in the inner compartment. The clutch has one outer zippered pocket that is too small to be of use IMO and one zippered pocket inside the clutch that is great for lipstick, etc.

daphne-I want to like the Superstar so bad! The size and weight can't be beat, but I don't like bags with a flap. I so, so want to like that bag!

Do you mean that you don't like bags w/a flap? That's one of the biggest drawbacks, but it doesn't bother me.

when i had the BeAll for over a year it didn't bother me either, then it did. go figure! i also like an outside section for "my" stuff.

Hmmm.... I've had several of these bags and sold a few.

The FV Sling Tote holds less than it looks like it would. I'm currently using mine for my 25 month old but would have a hard time using it for two. I'm not even a heavy packer.

LB Superstar - I wanted to love this bag but I just didn't. The strap wasn't very comfy if you were carrying it for a long time. The magnets drove me crazy because there we two sets of them so the flap magnet always found the top magnet and then the bottom magnet sort of found it as well and it had an accordian type affect. I'm not sure if the newer styles have only one set of magnets or not. I didn't like how the top didn't zip and hated the flap. It held a ton but was an akward bag for me in shape. I ended up selling it.

I do have a LB Echo 17" laptop bag in Vionna that I LOVE though! So I do like LB bags, just the Superstar was not for me. One other thing to note, with the new LBs just out there are NO stroller clips on the side anymore.

JJB BeRightBack - I posted a review on this bag a few months ago. I love the pattern and the pockets and organization but the thing is tall and huge. I think I've used it 3 times maybe in the 6 months or so I've owned it. I'll see if I can did up that post. The major thing I don't like is that it doesn't stand on it's own and topples over when put down. It may be on the chopping block soon.

JJB BeAll - I used this one for a long time. I know I did a review on it as well. The messenger flap bothered me and I didn't like that the mommy pocket was inside the flap. It made the flap stick way out if you had more than just your phone and keys in it. I used to keep my BeMine in it. I ended up trading it for a Packabe.

Which brings me to the JJB Packabe - I didn't want to like this bag but I decided to give it a try. I LOVE my PAckabe. It's not huge but has more than enough room for my DS's things. I think I could make it work for two even. The only thing I have a problem with is the straps. The way the strap works is that it can be easily converted to a shoulder strap from the backback straps. Well the hardware rings for the straps sit on each of my shoulder blades and really dig into them when I'm wearing it. I've tried to adjust it so they won't but I haven't found a way yet. I'm probably going to be ordering a set of padded straps for it.

I also LOVE my OiOi hobo. It is a great bag but there aren't any stroller loops/D-rings to attach to a stoller. That's the only downfall. I think my hobo is probably my favorite.

The JJB accessories are really great as well. I have 5 BeMines I think and that is what I use for my wallet. It's super easy to change bags and if I'm going somewhere without DS I just use the BeMine as a wristlet. I have several BeQuicks and use them for diapers and wipes plus sometimes I use one for DS's cars or little toys. I use the Sippy Rocket in my Sling Tote b/c the FV bottle holder is huge and pointless. I also use it for my leather bags so I don't have to worry about leaks/spills.

Kopper, thanks for the reviews. I thought about the BeRightBack, but knew it would be too big for me. I saw on the Ju-Ju-Be web site in The Pink Room that they're coming out with a new bag called the WannaBe that looks intriguing (tote/backpack), but in the end, the Packabe seemed like the best fit for me. I just hope I like the pattern I chose because I've never seen it in person. I have a feeling I'm going to be a JJB addict now!

Which pattern did you pick???

I have things in Lush Paisley, Blue Bouquet, Sporty Stipes, Purple Paisley, Tiki Toffee and Citrus Sorbet. Blue Bouquet and Sporty are my favorites. Tiki is my least favorite. I'm looking to get something in Goovy Garden and Sienna Swirls. The Sienna now comes with champagne lining which IMO is looks better than the silver for that pattern.

Oh, the WannaBe is going to be huge and heavy FYI. It's the beach bag thing right? I much prefer my Salt Water Canvas bags b/c they are super light weight. I use those things for everything! DS toys, snacks on car trips, toting things to the car, groceries from Sam's/Costco trips, swim lessons, taking stuff to my moms. Just my opinion but I think the WannaBe looks a little odd with the towel strap thing. I am interested in the mini purse thing they are coming out with. I forgot what it's called.
