Question about George Foreman Grill

I recently moved on up from my mini GF grill to the larger one with removable plates. I've used it twice now and I'm a little confused...both the top and the bottom are supposed to cook right?

Both times I'm barely getting any decent heat and the top isn't cooking at all. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong, like there's a switch or something, or if I just got a broken machine and need to return it.

No one has the GF with removable grill plates? Bummer.

We have one :) Ours cooks on both sides, maybe the plates aren't fitting in correctly? Or it could just be busted...

We have one with removable plates and it definitely cooks from both sides. Sounds like your machine may not be working. :(

My mom has one and it cooks evenly...but she has trouble getting the plates to stay put!

thanks ladies, I didn't think it was working correctly. I'll put the plates back in today (just washed them) and give it a try again with a grilled cheese. I guess I'll have to contact Amazon or something then to return it.
