After turning 30 and having my first child, my skin is terrible. Guess all those hormones really messed me up. Anyways, just wondering what everyone uses for their face and hands?
I used to use Clinique Anti-Aging Serum (the one that looks like a medicine dropper), and super defense Triple action moisturizer, but didn't like the smell. So I stopped using it.
Looking for something that works, light moisturizer that goes on smooth, not too strong fragrance, and affordable:p because I need a lot of it!
TIA!

I use a regimen that includes Skinceuticals CE Ferulic Acid (http://www.skinceuticals.com/productItem.asp?productTypeID=2&productID=20) and Hydrating B5 Gel (http://www.skinceuticals.com/productItem.asp?productTypeID=3&productID=37). I know it's working b/c I had a mole removed on my face about one year ago and it left a little divet. Since I've been using these two products, that has even plumped up and looks filled in. They're pricey, but worth it IMO.

This is pretty interesting considering no matter how much they (in general) advertise that their products work, I can't say that I've ever believed them.
Gen, I see you're in Pas. Very cool! If your ever in the market for a book club, be sure to stop by the LA group (http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=364) since we meet quite often in the Pas area.

If you like Clinique aside from the smell, I recommend Total Turnaround cream. I've been using it since I was 21 and prefer it to their aging serum--for me, it both improves my skintone and clears up blemishes. Also it does not have much of a scent. I used to wear it under my makeup every day until I got pregnant (I believe it has retin-A or something of that sort, so I'm avoiding it for the time being). Ask the counter if they can give you a sample.

I've never believed them either. I was pretty excited to actually see proof, esp considering my derm said the removal wouldn't leave a crater, but it did.

I also sent an email to my make-up friend and here's what she says, she's got amazing skin with 3 kids (hate her jk)
I feel that you have a normal to dry skin type. Which can easily be normalized with proper skincare.
I think that Prescriptives would be a good skincare line for you. It's simple but has a lot of really great products. The counter people can prescribe the best regime for you and your skins condition. One of the best products that they make is Line Preventor.
Line Preventor actually protects your skin from environmental damage and stress. It's a supplemental product that you apply morning and night under your moisturizer.
These are the basics:
Cleanser a.m & p.m. (They make one with a toner built in.)
Line Preventor a.m. & p.m.
Moisturizer a.m. (Get one with a SPF 15)
Moisturizer p.m. (Get one with some sort of gentle alpha,
lactic , or salicylic acid built in. You
generally won't need an exfoliating srub if you use this kind of product.)
Eye Cream (Very important. It's the thinnest skin on our face and the first place that we age.)
( I know that they make these items although I'm not sure what the exact names are.)
So Gen, I think that you'll like Prescriptives. With faithful use you will have great, glowing skin in no time...You already have smooth, flawless skin. Using these products will help maintain normalcy in your skin.

my sil is doing the makeup class thing right now and said that shiseido, clarins and decleor are good and that it's good if everything is in the same line.

I think I'll try check this one out, it says it's for mature women, that means over 30 right. JK, it recommends over 50 to use this type

Jurlique is amazing. They use organic natural products.
- Here is their starter kit (http://secure.jurlique.com.au/osus/product_detail.asp?category=5&subcategory=47&prod=506) and here is their wonderful wrinkle recovery cream (http://secure.jurlique.com.au/osus/product_detail.asp?category=5&subcategory=46&prod=2211), but Jurlique can get a bit pricey.
I also use Gunilla of Sweden (http://www.gunillaofsweden.com/products.html) and I love the stuff. It's less expensive than Jurlique and works very well. I love their alpha hydroxy treatment, their Lerosett clay mask and moisturizer and I use the cell rejuvenator serum every night. It's made a big difference in my skin. My skin has changed in my 30's, but I really noticed a big difference in my skin postpartum - it's is incredibly dry now and I can't skimp on the skin products like I used to.
An esthetician I used to see in Beverly Hills (right next to my cousin's hair salon) turned me on to these products and I love them.

I use the Oil of Olay Anti-Wrinkle line.
I get compliments on my skin fairly frequently, and I definitely don't look my age (at least I've been told that)! My mom used O of O for eons, and she has great skin. Maybe it's genetic, but until I have more fundage to use in the Skin Care department, I'm sticking with Oil of Olay. :-)
Although - I would looove a line that would make my huge nose pores go away.

I tried Oil of Olay but it wasn't doing anything for me. Clarins has a pore minimizing serum you might want to try out.
I wanted to report after a week of using clarins line preventor starter collection:
overall - for $37, my lines have reduced and my skin is back to being soft. (I have normal to oily skin). There is a scent to the products, but is not overwhelming. All of the active ingredients are displayed in sephora.com, or at the clarins website. Clarins is also available at department stores like nordstroms and macys.
.53 oz Line Prevention Multi-Active Day Cream - I wish the sample collection would've had the UV Plus SPF 40 instead of the normal day cream. I will purchase the UV Plus instead.
.53 oz Line Prevention Multi-Active Night Cream - I think this is the main product that has helped my skin restore back. I will definitely purchase the $71 night cream once my sample has completed.
.10 oz Line Prevention Multi-Active Serum - this plus the night cream alone has worked wonders, reduced my lines on my forehead.
.10 oz Eye Revive Beauty Flash sample - I don't know why but this stuff stings!! I get just a tiny bubble and dab it below my eyes, and it stings!!!
.69 oz Gentle Foaming Cleanser sample - dried out my skin too much, stopped using after day 2.
Anyone tried any of Murad's anti-aging stuff? I really like their acne treatment line. It really got my skin into shape after it went crazy a few years ago.
I'm worried that if I start using anti-aging stuff, it will clog my pores, and I'll be right back to where I was.

I love Prevage. Everyone says I glow. I am also a firm believer in SPF 30, all day, every day, on all exposed skn.

I've been using the Avon Anew line. I can really tell a difference in the way my skin looks, and they run frequent sales that make it almost cheap.

Prevage is the only product that I've used that works instantly. My co-work raved about it. I was at the store and having a bad skin day. They had a tester and I applied it on my forehead. My flakey dull skin transformed right before my eyes. Costco has the MD version of Prevage on their website. It sells out fast but they restock it once in a while. Have you tried the eye serum?

I use the NutriMinC RE line by Arbonne. Yes it is expensive but it lasts a very very long time. A little goes a long way. I love it and have been using it for a year or so.

Can anyone recommend an anti-aging + anti-blemish treatment?
I have found ones from Oil of Olay (just 2 products, it looks like, but others for just acne); Neutrogena; and Philosophy.
I have redness all the time (but it's not rosecea); large pores/blackheads; and recently just *started* getting whiteheads!!!
But. . . I am approaching 30 faster than I'd like, so I want something to help keep my skin youthful as well (plus, I did mega damage tanning for several years).
Thoughts?
Thanks!

I just read consumer reports on this today because I saw fine lines around my eyes. They said that Oil of Olay was the best bet. That the more expensive isn't always the best. Going to give it a try soon.

I recently got Lancomes Aqua Fusion Cream (http://www.lancome-usa.com/skincare/moisturizers/aqua-fusion-cream.htm) and have been using it a week or so ($37) and I can say that I really like it. I just use it at night, but my skin is definitely softer looking. Plus it's oil free and sometimes I get small breakouts so I didn't want anything too heavy.

Has anyone tried Peter Thomas Roth's Un-Wrinkle serum (http://www.peterthomasroth.com/peterthomasroth_products.asp?prod=un-wrinkle)?
