I am going to a sweet 16 Friday for DH's cousin. I am wearing a simple black dress with a gold color pair of shoes. I was going to go without hose, but my legs look horrible thanks to a bunch of mosquito bites. I need to cover them.
Should I go with nude or off black hose?
Any other ideas?
Thanks
Nude. I am not a fan of black hose in general, and I think the gold shoes in particular call for nude.

Definitely nude. Especially with gold shoes.

This may be a stupid question, but do nude hose really cover mosquito bites (or scars or other marks)? The last time I wore nude hose they were very sheer.
I'd just use a little cover-up on the bites and forgo the hose.

I'm a no hose kinda gal myself (especially if the shoes are open toe). I can't even tell you the last time I wore hose, probably at least 5 years ago. I agree w/wendalah...a little cover up and you should be fine. It'll probably be kind of dark in the place anyway.

Ditto that. I avoid hose at all costs. Plus, wouldnt the hose irritate the bites anyway?

Yes...gold shoes and black hose are very 1980s...and not in a good way.

Yes...gold shoes and black hose are very 1980s...and not in a good way. And for the love of fashion...no hose with open toed shoes! :p

I actually do not have a problem with hose if it's done correctly. You can even do nude hose in a "cool" way if you're wearing a kind of retro, '40s styled outfit. But it's tricky, and it pretty much only works in fall or winter. Summer=no.

That said, if you really want to cover the insect bites with hosiery--I'd go for black hose and match it to black shoes. I still am puzzling over how nude hose offers any camoflauge. The black at least might cover somewhat.
I personally am sporting the mosquito bites and no hose look today! (Thanks to last weekend's camping trip.) I honestly don't think anyone has noticed. Except for me, of course. If the dress is plain, wear a funky necklace to draw attention to your face and pretend the bites aren't there.

Bare Minerals on the legs actually works nicely as cover up.

Now you all have me worrying about how its going to look. LOL I guess I will see later when I get dressed. If the hose aren't doing there job, then they are coming off and I will try to use some cover up.
Sometimes it stinks being a girl. LOL
