Generic heartworm meds?

We just got a puppy, and I was looking on 1800petmeds.com to see how much his heartworm meds would be. While looking, I saw a link on the page for the generic version of the medication, which is obviously cheaper. I was just wondering if anyone has used a generic version or know anything about them. We went to the vet yesterday and they gave us a free sample of Heartguard Plus, and the generic of it is called Iverhart Plus. I'm going to ask the doctor what he thinks when we go back in a few weeks, but I was just wondering if any CC ladies have used it.

I worked at a clinic that used Iverhart plus. It is the same active ingredient but it is (at least it was a year ago) in a tablet form instead of a chewy brick like heartguard. Some dogs didn't care one way or another but those that were picky or hard to get a pill into did much better with heartguard.
