Bizarre commercial

Has anyone seen a new commercial for Vagisil? I just saw it. So, they show a porcupine, then a skunk, then a fish and then a tube of Vagisil and they say how it gets rid of itch and odor. I have no idea why, but I thought this was bizarre and while I'm the first one to find something funny that others may find offensive, in this case, I didn't find it the least bit funny. And, I've never even had a yeast infection. Does anyone else find this weird?! :eek::o

Yeah, that sounds a little weird. I haven't seen it myself, but it sounds pretty offensive to women. It also sounds like it was made by a group of immature fratboys.

Yeah, I just saw it for the first time tonight! I wouldn't say I'm offended necessarily, it takes a lot for me to be offended, I did think it was kind of weird. In theory it wouldn't be that much different from the one that shows an alligator for dry skin, but for some reason it totally is!

That's funny! I said the same thing to DH that I thought it was a dry skin commercial when I saw the porcupine. I agree, it takes a lot to offend me, but this was just too odd.

There's been some weird ads for things like this lately. While I haven't seen this one, there is the commercial for the a pregnancy test that seems like it's for some sort of video game or something. It makes absolutely no sense.

I agree-there have been some downright odd commercials on lately. And not even odd where I remember what the brand name of the product is (which can be a marketing ploy-you remember a certain product because the commercial is so "out there")-just wierd. So many times recently Tim and I will look at each other after a commercial is done and we'll say "Huh?"

I'm pretty sure I'd find that commercial pretty darn un-funny... To imply that women smell like fish and skunks and need Vagisil to fix it? I'll just buy Monistat next time...

Besides...when I've had a yeast infection, it didn't smell like fish and skunks...it smelled like beer and bread.

I just saw the WEIRDEST commercial this weekend. It's a commercial for ask.com. There's a big musical production number w/a guy singing about how he found what he was looking for. They guy's surrounded by show girls singing and dancing -- they're all carrying swords and in weird costumes. Turns out his search terms were "chicks with swords." I kid you not. It was a commercial espousing how easily you can find the porn you want through ask.com.

Totally weird.

I haven't seen the Vagisil commercial, but I'm really not getting that new Wendy's commercial. Alright, I get it, he's breaking conformity, but still, WTH??

That Vagisil commercial sounds potentially misleading. Fishy smell usually means bacterial vaginosis, which would only be made worse by using Vagisil. Not exactly a winning endorsement for their research department.

Eh, I don't necessarily find it offensive. I do find Ribbit's observation interesting, though.. that certainly would be misleading for someone who wasn't familiar with the different conditions.

The Starburst Berries & Cream commercial is by far my favorite "huh??" commercial lately. It's ridiculous but at least it makes me laugh :)

DH and I were watching TV yesterday morning and caught that vagisil ad. I thought it was weird and, to be honest, forgetable. I hadn't even thought about it again until i read this thread.

Now that i'm thinking about it again, it was kinda gross and DH seemed a little weirded out. It didn't really make sense either.
