Michelle- yeah for bringing BOTH girls home! They look so little in their car seats! So precious. I know when my niece was born, the plan was for her to sleep in her parent's room for several months---but she was so loud, BIL couldn't sleep :)

I took a 3 hr. nap yesterday and slept many hours last night. Now, I'm just ready for baby girl to get the show on the road.

Contractions- well, who knows if I've just had Braxton Hicks or real ones (as the nurse at L&D said the only difference is progress- and I'm not making much) but my contractions felt like my abdomen tightening to varying degrees (more tightening was a stronger contraction). . .as though someone was pulling an ace bandage really tight across the abdomen. I've heard others describe it as menstrual cramp type feelings.

loving all the pics that everyone is posting! Everyone looks great and the nurseries are looking great.

I'm off to run errands to see if running around town will kick this girl into high gear. Have a wonderful day everyone!

So exciting - it sounds like a lot of people are getting closer. I'm not due til the end of the month so I'll be sitting around getting excited over everyone else! Just waiting - patiently waiting!

Kym: Good for you for getting so much cleaning done. I was off on Sunday but was so tired for some reason so I watched a movie on TV and would get up and clean something on the commercials. Seemed to work well!

Livelifeandlove: Your room is so cute - I love purple!

Lisa: Sorry about the pain. I get pains and pressure down there when I am on my feet for awhile or after I go on a walk. But I don't think the baby has dropped yet since I still feel a lot of kicks and pushes right under my rib cage.

Katie: Yeah for good results. Hopefully you will be able to get out of work soon. I feel for you since you are own your feet all day.

Twainny: Sucks about the car - we just put $900 into mine. The A/C was completly broken. Hello - I can't be 9 months pregnant driving around in 80-90 degree weather with no A/C.

Dana: Yeah for head down baby! That was a huge relief for me when my baby turned.

Gator: Sounds like you might be getting close. Maybe we will have a July 4th baby!

We are working a half day today! Woo-hoo! The city celebrates 4th of July today with the fireworks being tonight. My office is close to downtown so we always close at 2:00 so we can get out of here before the craziness starts.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Kym..

I hope the cramping means something!

Lisa..

Sorry you're not farther along, but 1 cm is still 1 cm!!

Michelle..

The girls are gorgeous! I love how they are facing each other in the car seats.

Gator..

Sounds like you're being really smart and resting lots. Hopefully things will really get jumpstarted today!

j2478..

Thank you!

I'll be sitting there w/ you watching everyone else deliver and hoping that Maddy comes early!

Me..

People at work keep telling me there is no way I'm going to make it until the 24th.. that I look like I'm ready to deliver right now. While on the one hand it's giving me hope that maybe she's coming soon, I think I'm setting myself up to be disappointed. I'm starting to think she'll be coming late or maybe not at all. Maybe she's just decided she wants to stay in there..

I've gained 17lbs total. Please please let's not go over 20lbs! My original goal was 15.. but that certainly didn't happen.

CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE! The girls are beautiful and I'm so happy you got to take them home together!

Lisa - I was thinking about you yesterday - I'm sure it wasn't an easy day - hope you are doing ok. I hear you on the no progress - I have a drs. appt this afternoon and I am expecting nothing.

Kym - yay for being home and for having a delivery date - I have a feeling you will be delivering before me! I'm home now too but working from home - I didn't get nearly as much done as you. In fact, I told DH last night if the baby came now we'd be in big trouble b/c the house is a serious mess - I need to get the clutter taken care of!

Gator - hope the walking helps. Sounds like you are still feeling good though - I am so convinced that I am going past 40 weeks as well. Well - they say the average first pregnancy goes to 41w1d, right?

Lovelife - love the nursery!

annie - hope you're feeling better!
]
Katie - I asked to get signed out of work but they said no b/c there is no medical reason (which is both good and bad I guess) Luckily I am working from home so I can continue to get paid until I officially start my leave (7/13 or baby's arrival - whichever comes first)

Dana - I hear you on the needing to wash and pack - I haven't done either yet! :eek: On the bright side, I think I finally finished all of the laundry DH and I have been piling up so I can move on to baby stuff with a clean conscience ;)

Twainny - glad you didn't do all that walking - hope you and DH are getting settled in.

As for me - I'm HOME now :) "Working" from home, but home ;) It's so nice not to have to get up and get on a train to work - or get dressed in work clothes! Yesterday we had the carpets in the whole house cleaned - which was great! - but you can still see the set in stains in the nursery - so, DH and I will be looking for an area rug tomorrow - any suggestions on where to look for an area rug for the nursery?

I am feeling mostly ok - other than the Michelin man feet and the stupid hemmies - ugh! Count me in the camp that could probably stay pregnant for a while longer - I'm not sure if I'm ready for this to end - I think I am going to be really sad to not be pregnant any longer - of course, I imagine I will be singing a different tune by 41 weeks :) No signs that anything is happening so I would be very surprised if this little one showed up before his / her due date but we'll see.

Next drs appt is this afternoon - I'm not even sure I want her to check me -not exactly the most comfortable thing when there's no progress, kwim?

ok - sorry so long - hope everyone is feeling ok. Good luck gator - it's definitely your turn now :)

Later,
Robyn

They checked me because I've been having pain low down. I think he's hitting my cervix and I feel like I torn something low down. She checked me and said "Oh you're not ready" I was a little bummed all this pain and nothing. Then She said he is head down and low just not low enough but I was 1 cm dilated. So at least something is happening just a whole lot. I go back July 11.

This was me exactly at my last appt...i cant believe I am having all this pressure and pain and no progress...we go back to the doc on the same day too. Hopefully we will have made more progress by next week..:D

Kym: I wouldnt go to the fireworks either...i am just feeling yuck lately when it comes to sleeping and I know I wouldnt be comfortable anywhere else either...

Livelifeandlove: the room is adorable...loving the stars..very cute she will love it!

Lisa: The pressure is getting worse each day for me in that area so I am hoping that means I am making progress...fingers crossed...hopefully it means you are making progress....It usually feels worse after I have been off my feet for a while and then stand up...I feel like "something" could just fall right out :eek:

Katie: Glad you had good results...hopefully work is over soon for you...

Twainny: We are having car issues too...Brian bought a Tahoe last July and I have an Xterra well, the Xxterra is a great SUV and I love it but the back seat is weridly shaped. The doors are too small and its a pain in the butt to get the infant seat in and out and I am short on top of that...so we are looking into Brian trading in my car and him getting a truck and I will take the Tahoe...but thats a few months away...so I will have to deal..it seems like that is always the way it is...right when you think you have control over a situation, bam..somthing cost money

Dana: Yeah for head down baby! I was so glad when they told me Eli was head down, one less thing to worry about.

Gator: YOu may be next...keep us posted...

LDS~ the girls are adorable...so glad you were able to take them both home so soon...that is just wonderful...again...they are beautiful!!

Me~ I am feeling pretty yucky today...dont know why...I actually slept all night in my bed instead of on the sofa, which I thought would make me feel better but ehhh not so much...I think I am just going to sit around all day...I am SO productive LOL :D

Hey girls. Sorry I have been so MIA. I've been home from work since the 23rd and so lazy!!
Nothing new here, no babe but I'm hoping she'll arrive close to her due date! If nothing by the 16th I'll be induced.

LSD- Yay for having your girls home!!

Ceaser~ thanks for checking in...you had us all thinking we were having another July baby...a 7/7/07 b-day would be cool :D

Well I think i have had my last eyebrow waxing of my pregnancy...I went this morning and I am usually fine while having it done it only takes about 10 minutes total...well you have to lie on your back while they do it...today i had to make her stop in the middle so i could sit up...I broke out in a sweat and thought i was going to pass out...it was really wierd...i get my eyebrows done every two weeks and that has never happened before....i dont know if it was lying flat on my back for too long, if it was too hot for me in the room or what...but she is on vacation for the next few weeks and hopefully...Eli will have made his entrance by then..

Here are my 37 week belly shots..

I know I haven't checked in forever and I apologize. Things have been quite busy around here.

Congratulations to LDS & Wendy!!!! :D
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I thought I would share an update real quick...

I had my 36 week OB check yesterday. I actually lost a half a pound, bringing my total weight gain so far to 17 pounds and my blood pressure was 110/60. Still feeling awesome for being almost cooked.

Dr. K came in and asked how I was feeling/doing. I told him I feel fantastic for being 36 weeks pregnant BUT I am feeling mega pressure down below. Whenever I walk, I seriously feel as if the baby is moving lower and lower. I told him I am having AF'ish cramps, nothing intense, but I definitely notice them. He normally wouldn't start doing internals until next week, but since he was doing the Group B test anyway, and with my history of going early with Cole, he decided to check me. Well, the pressure and the cramping isn't for nothing because....

I AM ALREADY 3-4 CM DIALATED, 80% EFFACED, AND THE BABY HEAD DOWN, ENGAGED AND READY TO ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :eek: :D

Howdy Doody!! I thought something was going on, but I was shocked at that amount of progress. Randy was sitting in the chair with a huge smile on his face and he asked Dr. K, "So, the baby is coming tonight?!" Dr. K laughed and then said, "It most definitely could...wouldn't surprise me. What would surprise me is if I see you next week. I will be really, really shocked if you make it to your 38 week appointment." He said two weeks tops...tops...and really to be on our toes and get the bags packed cause I could go any minute. How's that for exciting news??? :D

My husband is seriously floating on cloud 9...he is sooooo anxious to meet this little guy/gal. Not that I'm not, but I would like to do some more cleaning and mow the yard once more. ;)

So, that's the scoop. We pretty much have everything ready. We packed our hospital bags, the diaper bag, and Cole's bag for my parents house last night and they are ready to go out the door. We washed the car seat, the bassinet, the bouncy seat, and the swing and they are ready for use. The nursery is stocked with diapers, wipes, etc. and ready to go. I am in the process of washing receiving blankets, onesies, bibs, socks, bedding, and clothes. I got all the receiving blankets, socks, and some of the bedding done, folded, and put away....so I am on my way. All these little onesies, socks, etc are soooo teeny tiny. Squeal.

So, needless to say, things are quite exciting in our house!!!!!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I don't have time for shout-outs, but just wanted to wish you all a Happy & safe 4th of July!!! Looking forward to hearing of some more babies arriving!!!

HOLY crotch pain and pressure tonight! It was pretty bad for a couple hours after I went to the store, and then got ready for our night out. I felt like I had to pee constantly too, but oddly enough once we got to the fireworks and I sat down it kinda went away. I'm surprised. Hmm...

MommaO
07-03-2007, 11:33 PM
moni Wow, you've made great progress! A fireworks baby, perhaps? :)

dana interesting turn of events for you tonight too. Will be interesting to see if you have additional "episodes" :)

polkadot great pics! Sorry 'bout your experience while getting your eyebrows done, odd, maybe waiting for your next trip is wise. I REALLY need to get mine done too. Now I'm scared too.

Cesear Nice to "see" you. I've been off work since then too and being lazy is totally my MO these days

Update on me It's our due date today, based on the US dating early on. based on LMP it would be the 7th but we've been going off of the 3rd from fairly early on. 40 weeks. We made it! :) The heat here in So Cal is getting ot me. I'm puffy, for sure! My face feels puffy all the time. Ugh. Finish line is in sight. Soon I'll have my baby girl. Very soon! I go back to the Dr on Friday. I'm sure we'll start talking about all our options. I was induced w/ Landon and was hoping (am still hoping) to avoid it this time. We shall see.

plans for the holiday? LOW KEY. that is the plan. Seriously, a calm day. No fuss. I do need to get up and clean the house a bit as I was just not up to it today and by the time I half wanted to today it was too hot. My parents and a couple friends are coming over for a BBQ and to light off some fireworks. A good friend of mine that I used to work with is coming over w/ her DH and her nearly 1 1/2 year old DD. It will be the first time we'll get her and LJ together. Should be interesting. I'm happy to have a couple people coming over but loving that they are super low key and informal.

Hope everyone has a great holiday!

MommaO - Happy due date to you!
Mom2Cole - Holy crap! You are progressing fast. Good luck and keep us posted.
Polkadot - Love the aviator, I completely understand when you say lying on your back is so uncomfortable.
Caesar - fingers crossed for "baby mushy" to appear soon. Have you been feeling any differently? My induce date is the same and I hope she comes before then, I am getting so impatient
Katie - Have you spoke to your supervisors about maybe cutting back your hours or starting your leave early or switching some of your duties around? You may not even have to have your drs. involved. I am still working up until the 9th (my mom comes here then) or when the baby is born, which ever comes first.

And it looks like you and I have the same kind of closets going for our little ones! :D Yeah she has a ton of pink clothes and that doesn't even include the ones in drawers under the changing tables
Twainny - I am so glad you didn't walk home, next time please please please ask the guys at the car repair shop - lots of times they will drive you even if they don't provide that service normally (esp. since you are pg) And good luck with DH getting settled back into routine with you, it will happen before you know it.
Annie - Hope the ear feels better. And yah on SAHM status!
Gator and Kazata - Any babies yet???
LDS - The girls are beautiful! Unless they are with objects they don't seem so so tiny to me. I am sure in real life they are though. Good luck with being home!
Lisa - In the 1st pic you don't even look pg! The lack of progress is driving me nuts also. I am very impatient to begin with when it comes to waiting for something. Anyone have any home remedies for speeding up this progress? Sex, papayas, long walks...
Wendy How is Audrey doing? Love her name.
Robyn Maybe try some furniture stores for rugs, any particular theme or colors or sizes?
Me I have been having a few contractions or BH the last few days and weeks but everytime I go in there is no progress. The last time it was somewhat continuous (no point where I can tell if they were stopping or starting) and my DH wanted to go to the hospital and I decided to wait until they got real bad, I am glad I did because they would have sent me home. Tremendous pressure and achy back, is this really a contraction?? This Friday they said they probably will hook me up to the monitors to see if I am having contractions or not. And probably talk more about inducing then, I do not want a c-section or an induction, just for her to be born already!!
Happy 4th of July!!

I'm here, I'm here...

Just taking things easy. The swelling in my hands and feet is pretty extreme plus the carpal tunnel in my hands is annoying, and that keeps me from typing too much, but otherwise I'm doing well.

Going lowkey today - just having a bbq at our house with my parents.

Happy 4th of July!

Boy you all have been busy!

No time for So's right now..

They had a small surprise shower for me at work last night which was nice. I got a bunch more clothing. Does anyone need girl clothing? I'm dead serious.. if someone needs some and will pay for shipping I'll send you a ton. Otherwise I think I'll be donating about half of what I have. I have an overwhelming amount.

I think I've finally realized that I need to slow down a bit. I've been doing 100% of the housework just like I did before I got pg and it's catching up to me. I'm huge and tired and just can't keep this up. But I feel so lazy just laying around.

I got a bunch more clothing. Does anyone need girl clothing? I'm dead serious.. if someone needs some and will pay for shipping I'll send you a ton.

I'll let you know sometime in the next week or two ;) I hear you on the housework - though I can't really say I've kept up with ours, I'm tired.

Our 4th was good. Ran around to a bunch of stores looking for an area rug - for now, we bought a (very) plain one from Target to get the stains covered - we'll see how it looks while we search for something more interesting for the room.

The best part of the day was last night - after leaving our friends house (bbq) we thought there would be no fireworks b/c of the pouring rain (you can see the fireworks from our neighborhood)

Well, turns out there were and we were able to watch them from our bedroom window! Very cool! It was so nice - we just sat on the floor of our bedroom and watched the fireworks - I LOVED it - and it was some really nice quiet time with DH (who knows how much more that will happen in the near future ;))

Had a drs appt on Tuesday. It was again a search and rescue mission to find my cervix, *lol* but I am 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced - baby is head down. I know it doesn't mean much, but at least it's a start.

Also, I have been officially signed out of work - woohoo! I just need to tell work. When I got to the dr., my BP was 130/70 (highest it's ever been) - that combined with my huge swollen feet was enough to get me out of work :) Doc was going to send me for a blood test (even though my urine was clear) to check for pre-e, but thankfully had my BP checked one more time before leaving. They had me lay on my left side for 5 mins and when they took my BP again it was down to 110/70 so no bloodwork - but I still have the "get out of work" note - so now I can officially be off! Now I'm sort of hoping to go a few days late just so I can have some time off to relax at home without thinking about work - we'll see.

Next appt is Tues 7/10 (my due date) and also scheduling NST and BPP for 7/13 in case I go late.

Sorry so long - hope everyone had a great 4th! Need to go finish up my work odds and ends ;)

~Robyn

Robyn- yeah on the no work!!! :D you're too cute on the "search and rescue mission" hey its a little progress. With my first I didnt get passed 50% effaced and 1/2 cm to 1cm dilated:rolleyes: so you're doing better than I did.

Well DH and I decided if I havent gone into labor by the 20th, we are asking to be induced. With 2 little boys at home and DH's work schedule delivering on Friday would be a blessing for us. I hope I go into labor but considering my history, its doubtful. ;) My kids like to be evicted:p

Well for the first time in forever I've been feeling good and have gotten a ton done already today! Ran lots of errands this morning and did some more cleaning. The house has never looked so good. I wish I could be in nesting mode all the time!

This new found burst of energy is making me wonder if I can in fact keep working up until the delivery. I may ask for a note from the dr. and then decide whether or not to use it. As of this moment I'm feeling like Maddy can stay as long as she wants. It's just been a really good day!

My only problem is that I'm incredibly hot 98% of the time. I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this. It definitely makes me want to plan for a winter baby next time.

lovelifeandlivelove

Robyn - I am so jealous of your progress ;) I cannot wait to go back to the drs on friday now. Fingers crossed for some progress.
Katie - Hope you continue feeling good. Ask the doctor and your boss anyways, maybe take days off as needed in the future. Let them know that you really won't take advantage of the system and yoo really wouldn't be an asset to your job if you feel crappy either.
Me - I finally decided that I am stopping working this week. The last few days I have been kinda slacking (didn't go in on Tuesday because I was tired from staying up on Monday night feeling crappy, then holiday on Wednesday and today I am on CC while at work), my mom and sis are getting here on Monday night, and my DH is starting to take days off on Saturday (his birthday) [he had to give a definite date like months ago and is still scheduled to go in most of the days of his vacation anyways] I just talked to my director and she was fine with it. I also told her that I would have more work when I return as opposed to now anyways (I absolutely have little to do, I have been doing other people's jobs this past week just to kill time and I spend like 2 hours at the office talking to a secretary). Hopefully I don't have to wait until the 16 for my baby!

Happy Thursday, all. Weather in So Cal has cooled considerably in the last couple of days, that makes me a much happier pg gal! :)

katie I chuckled at your "planning for a winter baby" comment. Mainly b/c I was due in October with Landon and thought I'd avoid the worst of the heat late in the pregnancy. Nope had a massively hot Indian Summer period and had ridiculous heat.... well into October. Figures :rolleyes: I know you had a good day but do try and plan to take at least a few days off b/4 you have your little girl. I know it's hard to plan "a few days" but I promise you, you will not regret it.

dana My Dr.'s office doesn't due a weight check u/s. I'm sort of bummed about that but in the end, maybe it's best I don't know... especially if she's getting big. I'd rather figure that out AFTER I have her than stress about it as I need to push. :)

lovelife Good luck wrapping up work. It's soooo nice having that done!

robyn how cute are you? I've been taking late in the day showers. I say it's b/c it helps cool me off late in the day however it's simply that I'm lazy. :) Enjoy the pressure of not having things you "must" get done. Soon that will change!

Okay, here's my first belly shot i've posted here. be kind. :) Was taken yesterday after fireworks

MommaO

You look great!

Right now I'm scheduled to work until the 20th and I'm due on the 24th. So I will have a little bit of a break assuming Maddy doesn't come early.

DanaLand
Wow.. your list is about twice as long as mine. You seem really prepared!

lovelifeandlivelove
That's a good idea.. thanks!

RobynScott

You're looking like you're carrying much lower than me. Have you dropped? Or have you been carrying like that all along?

ceaserbride
Hopefully this is it for you!! I can't believe you've made it this long. I thought for sure you'd go last month!

Hi All, Just a quick post. I had major cramping last night then around 3am I started having contractions, nothing consistent. Then @ 5am I lost my MP so I called my dr. and they want me to just come in for my appointment @ 11 unless there are any changes, yikes! The contractions are strong but come and go quickly and space very inconsistently. So who knows!?!? I'll post later on, hopefully that Lilli is here!

Sorry I haven't been around ladies! I cannot believe that no more babies have been born yet!! We are a slow bunch indeed! Lets see if I can make a dent in SO's...

Lovelife... As I type this you are probably sitting in your OB's office! I hope this is it for you and if so, wish you a fast and easy delivery. Can't wait to hear from you and to see pics of baby girl!

polkadot I read your post about your brow waxing experience and wanted to let you know that what happened is 100% normal. I've actually been having that happen to me for well over a month now, whenever I'm put on my back. My OB explained it and basically when you lay down, your lungs are being compressed by the weight of the baby and it can make you very short of breath, dizzy and light-headed, which is what happens to me. My last three sonograms have been very tough on me because of it.

Katie What sizes do you have in the girls clothing? I need 3-6 months mainly but will take anything you've got that you don't want! Let me know. When is your next appointment? Don't forget to get your note for work, okay? Oh, and I don't think you are going to make it to the 20th, you've got the nesting thing going and that usually means labor is immienent. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

MommaO You look positively adorable! :) Sending big labor vibes your way!!

Mom2Cole Holy moly! That is some progress that you've made!! Keep us posted!!

Danaland Your list looks like mine! I'm pretty anal and make lists for everything anyway, so I just keep adding to mine. :o Are you going to nurse? If so, nursing pads and Lasinoh would be good items to bring with you. And I'm bringing my own toliet paper and towels too so I'm not stuck using the hospitals. And a big bag of change for DH for vending machines.

ceaserbride I'm so glad that you checked in! Keep us posted on those contractions!

Robyn You look great! I can't wait to see which one of us goes first since we got our BFP's a week apart from each other..remember that? :)

Well ladies, we have an official eviction date scheduled! My OB kept it for next Thursday, 7/12/07, at 8am. I have to be at the hospital by 6am, nothing to eat or drink past midnight the night before. Of course, baby girl could decide to come on her own before then, but I'm thinking she's pretty happy in there and won't. But you never know. Anyway, I had another u/s yesterday to check her weight. At this point, babies are supposed to gain about half an ounce a day. Well, apparently DD is well-above this estimate, because she is measuring at 9 pounds, 3 ounces! That means that she gained over an ounce per day, one pound total in two weeks!! :eek: Oh, and they said she is the size of 40 weeks, 1 day gestation baby. That is at 38 weeks, 1 day. She looked huge on the screen, even to me! Okay, so my BP went up a little, but not enough to worry my doctor. I also lost another half a pound! So I've gained just one and a half pounds total in the last nine weeks. I am now even more glad that we are doing a planned c-section though, as my doctor informed me yesterday that with my consent, she wants to remove a dermoid cyst that is on one of my ovaries that was detected very early in my pregnancy. In fact, its possible that she may have to remove the ovary itself depending on big the cyst is. :( So I will be on the operating table longer than normal while this is done. But she said that she would have wanted to operate anyway to remove it, so this way it all gets done at once and I won't have to have more surgery down the road. I won't lie, I am scared about the whole thing. But my doctor is absolutely positive that a c-section is in my best interests as well as the baby's and I trust her 110%.

I don't have much energy.. I'm just trying to work as long as I can so I can get one more credit card paid off before the baby comes.

lovelifeandlivelove
How exciting!!! This is it!!

jimmysgirl424
I still need to sort through everything. I have 1 load left to wash and then I'll pull everything out and decide what I want to keep and what I want to get rid of. Hopefully I can get that done tonight. We are having company in from out of town and I'm not sure how late they are planning on staying. I'll let you know what I have when I get it all sorted. I'll just be glad to thin it down a bit. We have WAY too much at this point!

I had a dr's appt. this morning and all went well. I got my paperwork for work filled out.. yay to have that done!

I hope you're right about the labor being soon thing. I'm ready!

How exciting to know when you'll be meeting your baby!!

Me--
Dr's appt. this morning. I gained another 2lbs in 6 days. It's a good thing I didn't gain much early on because it is positively PILING on lately. I'm now up to 19lbs gained. My bp was good (the meds seem to be helping). He also said I'm still showing trace amounts of protein in my urine. All the NST's have been great (I have another one to do today). I found out that he will induce at 41 weeks which is good to know. I don't really want to go longer than that because of the risks of stillbirth increasing the longer you go past your due date.

I think that's all for me.

Robyn & MommaO: Looking good!

Lovelife: Good Luck.

Kym: Yeah for having a date! Sorry about all of the additional surgery.

Katie: It seems like you are always cleaning and getting stuff done. You need to come to my house!

I had a terrible appt this morning. They checked me and no progress and she didn't think what she felt down low was the head - so I was worried that the baby might have turned back again. But they did a quick u/s and baby is head down but still very high. THEN- my blood pressure was pretty high, then they found protein in my urine. So they took blood and now I have to do a 24 urine test and bring it back in on Monday. They are testing for pre-eclampsia b/c these are all new things since my appt last week. She also told me not to stress over the next couple of days and pretty much try not to leave my house. I have to work today and tomorrow and my shower is on Sunday. When I told her this she said OK go to your shower but come right home and don't help set up or clean up or anything. She pretty much told me not to work to stay home, no cleaning or anything - just rest. So, I am work now b/c when I came in and told my boss what happened he laughed and said it looks like he is going to win the bet b/c he bet I will not make it past the 13th. Then he said doctors are crazy and I should stay away from salt b/c of the protein thing, then he walked away. Nice compassion, huh!

I am trying not to stress out, but I think its harder to stay calm then it is to freak out. Plus, I have so much going on right now. I just put a house in contract this week and just listed another one yesterday.

Hope everyones day is going better than mine.

Lovelifeandlivelove - goodluck!

Jen - I hope everything comes back negative.

Kym - Yeah, sometimes its nice to just have a date set. I'm still trying to hold out for a vbac but at some point I will either get a csection date or induction date.

~~~~~
38w4d here and nothing going on, same as my last PGcy pretty much, although I do get the tightening and some crampy feelings if I'm on my feet alot. We are actually headed up north so hopefully we don't have to make a trip home in the middle of night!
all July Mommas Thanks for the compliments. I like my body while pregnant non pg I'm just overweight. :) As much as I'm ready to have my baby girl I'm saddened that this is, likely, my last pregnancy.
lovelife VERY interested to "hear" what goes on with you
jen I know it's easier said than done on the "do not stress" orders but try. Enjoy your shower and get the heck out of work. Don't be guilted by the boss. Did your Dr give you a note? Take care of you and baby and hopefully the tests will come back negative.
Kym I'm so pleased you have a comfort level w/ your decision. It's great having peace about such things, isn't it? I'm sorry that are dealing with additional complications it does sound like a good idea to deal with it all at once. Hopefully it's a quick thing and goes smoothly.
lisa We're at the same point.... happy 4th of July behind us and now we wait for babies. :) Oh and I'm tired too. :)
Me On my appointment-Jim decided to go with me for this appointment. I do believe the boy is starting to get a bit anxious about meeting his daughter. :) It was a bit different as we went to the Long Beach office instead of the Lakewood one I generally go to. I did this b/c I didn't want to have to wait until Monday to see the Dr I like. It was sort of odd not knowing my surroundings there. :)
The Dr came in and we chatted and I told her that if it ends up going to induction that if at all possible I would like it to be on a day that either she or the Sr. Dr. are on call. There's one partner I wanted to avoid. She said no problem. I really do enjoy her much more than the other girl. The Sr. Dr. I've not see this pregnancy but I know what to expect from her and would have no problem w/ her being on call. Anyway, heartrate sounded good...once we could get her to stop moving long enough to hear it :) Progress? Little. I'm about a 2.5 can be stretched to a 3. It's something, I guess. She gave me the option of having her stip my membrane. Because she's on call this weekend I said okay although I'm not overly hopeful that it will do anything. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, honestly.
They want to start seeing me now 2x a week to be monitored. I go in on Monday for NST and likely a u/s to check fluid levels. She said we could elect an induction on this coming Tuesday and that we would talk about that on Monday. (She's on call on Tuesday, other Dr I like is on Wednesay incase it went long). If that doesn't happen and Jocelyn chooses to stay put they would like to then schedule the induction for the following Tuesday, the 17th, I believe. OMG, I can't imagine being pg that long yet but we shall see. Jim is really pushing for me to pull the trigger for this coming Tuesday. Whle it's totally tempting I'm not convinced. I really just wish this membrane stripping thing would work and I wouldn't have to make a decision on induction, again tough, I'm not overly optimistic.
What will be will be. I'm anxious and excited and even with my discomfort this late in the game it IS comforting to know that at the longest I'll be holding my babe in about 10 days. Amazing, isn't it?
come on out, july babes, we're all anxious to meet you!
07-06-2007, 03:30 PM
Well.. I went in for my NST and while I was there my Dr. called the hospital to give them the order for my induction Sunday night ( 07/08/07). He talked to me and said he just got the results of my 24 hour urine and I'm spilling protein.. beginning stage of pre-eclampsia. So.. it looks like Madeline will be here sometime 07/09/07.
I'm scared to death. Having to anticipate this is not fun. It's one thing to start having contractions.. it's another to sit around and know that in a couple days you'll be giving birth.
Katie I'm sorry about your news. Try the best you can to turn the sudden change in plans into a positive and use the "warning" to your advantage. Write a letter to your daughter about the anticipation of her birth. Have you and DH go out to dinner and or a movie for one last time, just the two of you. Life is changing in a wonderful way in the next few days. Focus on some of that positive energy! I've very exctied for you and, dare I say, a bit jealous. My babies like to bake a bit longer, apparently. You're so close, Momma! I can't wait to meet your little one.
Katie I know exactly how you feel, I felt the same way. My Dr.'s office called me out of the blue and told me that I was scheduled for a Friday inducement and where to be when. I hung up, called my DH and cried my eyes out because I was scared. But you can do it. :) It wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined it would be. Try not to think about it. It was definitely worth it to have my little one in my arms after 10 long months.
Katie I'm sorry about the pre-e diagnosis, but sounds like you are coming to terms with getting to meet your little girl sooner rather than later!
Love Oooo, things seem to be happening for you! Can't wait to hear the news.
j2478 Sorry about the protein and the bp. I hope it comes back down and everything checks out fine. I know how much it sucks to stress about bp and pre-e.
jimmysgirl Yikes on the weight estimate! Glad you feel okay about the possible c-section. You sound like you are in a really good place.
Robyn and MommaO Your both looking great!
Polka Sorry about no progress. I haven't made any progress yet either.
ME: Well had my 39 week appointment this morning. My bp when I first got there was 150/80, so my OB was going to send me to the hospital. The room they had me in was this super uncomfortable stuffy hot room, and I started sweating as soon as I walked in, so I asked her to let me change rooms, lay on my left side for five minutes and retake my bp before going to the hospital. She agreed to that, and when they retested it was 120/90. So the top number was fine, but the bottom number had gone up. Grrrr. What is it with my bp being all over the place like this? My urine is still coming back clear, so instead of sending me to the hospital for a prolonged period (she estimated 3 hours), she just sent me to the lab to have my blood drawn to check for pre-e (kidney, liver function, blood platelet count etc.). Will have the results on Monday, when I am scheduled back for another bp check. Hoping for good results on the blood draw.
In other news, when I was getting ready to leave today, I asked my OB whether my Group B Strep test came back negative (thinking it must have since she hadn't mentioned it last week or this week), but when she checked my chart she said "oh, I'm glad you asked, because it came back positive." Gah. I really was hoping to avoid an IV during labor, so I was a bit upset by this news.
Finally, my OB is starting to talk induction as well. Just by feeling around on my stomach today, she estimated the baby to be 8 pounds (I have no idea how she can make such a guess), and she thinks the babe will be 8 1/2 pounds by next week. Since she's been concerned about my ability to birth vaginally all along (she says I have a "borderline small pelvis"), she wants the baby out sooner rather than later. Bleah. I'd rather just wait. I did let her do an internal today, but she said there was no progress yet. And here I was still hoping to have that lucky 7/7/7 baby!
39w4d - I can't believe it's been 35 weeks since I found out I was pg! Today is the infamous 7-7-07 - will we have any Lucky Seven babies? Pretty sure not me! At this point, I am really hoping for 7-14-07 - I think that would be a cool birthday too ;)
Headed to a wedding tonight - last night was the Rehearsal Dinner - everyone just kept telling the baby to stay put, *lol* (at least till after the wedding) so much as 7-7-07 would have been cool, I'm pretty sure baby is listening.
Been up since 5 am - hoping I can fall back asleep for a while before I need to be up for the day ... still need to pack that hospital bag :eek: and wash clothes, blankets, etc.
RobynScott
You're looking like you're carrying much lower than me. Have you dropped? Or have you been carrying like that all along?
I'm not sure - I think I'm maybe a little lower but I've probably been carrying somewhat low all along. I've never really had trouble breathing and never really got kicked in the ribs or anything - till once this morning!
Sorry about the pre-e diagnosis (or almost diagnosis) but yay for you that you will be holding Maddie very soon -how exciting!
Robyn You look great! I can't wait to see which one of us goes first since we got our BFP's a week apart from each other..remember that?
I definitely remember! :) And I definitely think you are going first - especially since you have a certain date! I think peanut is pretty comfortable inside right now - I'd be surprised if I go anytime soon - I'm hoping for next weekend - 3-4 days overdue and no more! I'm really hoping for 7-14!
Robyn & MommaO: Looking good!
Thanks! So sorry about the bad appt! Definitely rest and do what you need to do and don't let your boss get to you at all!
Robyn and MommaO-looking great ladies!
me- tired, tired and more tired! I'm a little crampy but I think its from lunch. Had a great 4th and just waiting for little man to make an appearance! Have a great day ladies maybe we'll have babies for 7.7.07
Thanks! I think we might - LoveLife hasn't re-posted, has she? What about Gator?
I get a little crampy sometimes too - but really nothing much. You and I started this thread (remember that?!?) and I feel like we might be here for the long haul ....
MommaO - You look great and so happy! I hear you on liking your pg body better than non-pg. I keep saying my belly is really cute now - won't be so cute when there's not a baby inside :p
Kazata - glad to see you post. Sorry about the BP issue - same thing happened to me at my appt but the lying down made a difference so I didn't wind up needing my blood drawn - got me a note out of work though so I am / was happy ;) Now I'm hoping to have a little downtime before baby makes an appearance (though that has me hoping for a delivery date after my due date - oh well)
Lovelife - hope you're not posting b/c you're too busy with your new addition :)
Gator - ditto for you!
Well, like I said, I'm just hanging in here. Headed to a wedding tonight - I'm very excited for the bride and groom - maybe all of the dancing (that I hope to do) will make a difference - not if I'm exhausted though! Been up since 5 - hopefully I'll be tired enough to go back to bed soon.
OK - have a great day all - and if anyone else is awake - post and keep me company, *lol*
Later,
lets see if i can do So's...
Robyn~ Have fun at the wedding, i too am up at 5 am on a Sturday morning...what is with these little babies keeping their mommas awake, dont they know we need our rest?:p
Katie~ Sorry that this induction is stressing you out, try not ot worry and just think of the positive, Maddie will be here before you know it...how exciting...my due date buddy going way before me :cool:
MommaO~ I agree about liking my pg belly, i hated my not pg belly and I am sure that relationship will be abck with avengence after Eli is born, maybe we can start a july mommy weight loss thread after we all get back to normal and can work out?
kazata~ Why is it that everytime I got to the doctor I feel like I get stuck with the hot room. Dont they know the hormonal pg, close to due date ladies need the nice cool rooms. I have been sweating everytime my doc comes in lately and he is always concerned about my bp, but luckily mine has been ok...glad you were able to lay on your side and get in under control and i am sure all is well with the blood work.
Paging lovelife & gator...since yall arent here.. I am hoping there is a good reason...like ten fingers and ten toes, well twenty of each if you count both of you :D
******
So its 5 am on Saturday morning and I am awake... I know that once Eli arrives I wont get much sleep but atleast I will be able to sleep comfortably knowing Brian is there to get him if need be....I am so uncomfortable, i cant wait for him to get here...
I have also been thinking about induction. I do not want to be induced unless I go past my due date. We are going to talk more about it on Wednesday, when i see my doctor, but I just feel like I should let my body do its thing and then if by my due date we havent seen any progress then I will asked to be induced. At my last appt my doc said after 39 weeks I can elect to be induced, but i think i really want to give him all the time he needs in there even though I complain so much
Lisa
Robyn- i'm always here for the long haul the last 2 times so I dont think this time will be any different
Where is Ceaser, Gator and Love? Babies maybe???:D
Katie- Monday will be a great day for you, Maddie will be here! I'm so excited and its not even my baby;)
Induction- well, I'm in the minority. I'm actally asking to be induced at my appt on Wed. DH and I really like a friday b/c both kids are in school and DH could be at home with me longer. Plus since my last 2 were 9lbs I like maybe an 8 pounder for once:p Having 3 little boys soon I need all the help I can get and enless I go into labor I think induction is the best way for us. Pray my Dr doesnt have a problem with it.
Okay I have a baby shower later and 2 boys that are hungry! I think I'm the only one who doesnt want a 7.7.07 baby...its my MIL birthday. A needs his own day
Congrats Diana and Welcome Lilliana!!!!
She got the lucky 7-7-7 birthday...how awesome!
I would do s/o's but I am so behind!! I will see what I can do though...
Lisa-DH wants me to be asked to be induced next Friday too..so he is home longer as he won't be able to take much time off. I haven't decided yet though. Plus he wants the baby born on 7-14-07.
Robyn and everyone else on pre-pregnancy stomach-I agree! I would join that thread. I hated it before and like it now...afterwards ehh I don't want to see what it will look like!
Polka-Good luck on your decision about being induced. My dr. has never even mentioned induction!
kazata-Ugh! Sorry about the blood pressure and the GBS positive. That was a horrible dr. appt. I hope Mondays appt is much better for you!
Katie-Aww good luck! I know you are nervous but at least now you know when you will meet her. I am sure everything will be great!
I bet we might have more babies..Mom2Cole hasn't posted since and last time she was about to drop her baby out:p, then Ceaser, and gator!! Where are the missing mommies:D?!?
Me-Well I still feel pretty good...that is unless I sit on bleachers for three hours. AHH. We went to my best friends little girls softball game. I was so uncomfortable by the time we left! Besides that a contraction here, a contraction there, same with cramps but nothing together and constant. I don't think he will be here by his due date. I have an appt Monday. I am sure he will check me. Then I will probably have to make the be induced or wait it out decision...:confused:!! Have a great weekend ladies!!!
CONGRATULATIONS DIANA AND WELCOME TO THE WORLD LILLIANA!!
So fun, another baby! :)
I'm here. Doesn't appear that having my membranes stripped did much of anything. Boo. DH and son are out and about allowing me some quiet time at home. Half of me wants to curl up in a ball in bed and have a bit ofa pity party for myself. The other half wants to enjoy the time alone and freedom of being able to go out and do things without having to haul 2 tons of gear with me. :) I'm doing a bit of laundry and some other misc cleaning and then plan on showering and heading to the bookstore. For what? Not sure, just because I can.
Congrats Diana and Welcome to Lilliana!
A 7-7-07 Baby!
Thank you to everyone for your kind words about the blood pressure and my 24 hour urine test. I hope that it is not pre-eclampsia but like DH said if it is it is OK. We are ready for the baby and can induce if we need to, it could be worse this could have happened at 20 weeks. I am trying to stay calm and not stress ( so much easier said than done). I have a shower tomorrow with DH's family and some people from work - that should make me feel better!
Kazata: Your appt sounded like mine, just kept getting worse and worse. I just felt like they kept dumping more and more information and bad news on me. Hopefully next week will be better for us!
Katie: Sorry about what you are going through, but I'm so excited for you that you will get to meet Maddie soon!
MommaO: Have a fun afternoon with your alone time.
Robyn: Have fun at your wedding tonight!
Have a good weekend everyone!
Thank you! After getting over the initial shock I'm starting to feel more calm about the whole thing. I just hope it lasts.. lol
It's very strange because I had it in my head that I would probably be the last one to deliver out of the whole group. That's not at all how it turned out.
Lisa
I hope your dr. goes ahead with your induction. It is kind of nice to have everything planned out/convenient. Although I would like to experience what it's like to go into labor naturally.. hopefully next time!
Congrats Diana and Lilliana!!!
Well.. I went in for my NST and while I was there my Dr. called the hospital to give them the order for my induction Sunday night ( 07/08/07). He talked to me and said he just got the results of my 24 hour urine and I'm spilling protein.. beginning stage of pre-eclampsia. So.. it looks like Madeline will be here sometime 07/09/07.
Katie..just wanted to make sure I got on here in time enough to send good thoughts and wishes your way before you go to the hospital tomorrow! Everything will be fine, and just think, you'll be holding your little girl in your arms in just a very few short days! :D How awesome is that after this nine month journey? I'll be thinking of you and wishing you and baby well. Take care of yourself, okay?
Apparently all the fireworks scared our little girl out into the world. I went into labor on the evening of the 4th. 14 hours later, we welcomed our little girl.
Taylor was born on 7/5/07 at 8:49 a.m. weighing 7 lbs 10 oz. She was 21" long.
It's been just a whirlwind since then. We are starting to get into the rhythm of things and we are so in love. I couldn't imagine loving DH more. . . until I saw him holding our daughter for the first time. It's just amazing.
Wishing all of you the best. . I have many pages to catch up on, I know. I've got to catch up on sleep first :)
Congratulations LOVELIFE and WELCOME LILLIANA!
Congratulations GATOR and WELCOME TAYLOR!
Yay for two new babies and mommies! So happy for both of you.
Gator - I know this was a really long journey for you and I'm so happy for you that you are now holding your baby in your arms! Yay!
Katie - good luck tonight - you'll do great! I'll be sending easy labor thoughts/vibes in your direction!
Kym - you're this week too - wow! You're probably next after Katie! wow!
Went to the wedding last night - stayed till the end (1:15 am - I was shocked I made it) and danced the night away - trying to dance the baby out ;) No such luck I guess. I'm really hoping he/she decides to make an appearance on his/her own by next weekend - we'll see I guess! I feel like I can handle 3-4 days overdue - I think it's going to start to bug me if I make it to next Sunday (5 days overdue) - but I guess peanut will show when he /she is ready, so I just need to be patient ;)
Finally washed baby stuff yesterday! Now, just need to pack my bag. DH and I are going to get some last minute stuff today too (nursing tanks, I hope) and hopefully set up the travel crib, pack and play, and swing.
Have a great day all! CONGRATS AGAIN TO THE NEW MOMMIES AND THE VERY SOON TO BE MOMMIES!
CONGRATS TO OUR NEW MOMMIES!!!! YAY!!!!!
Katie Good luck tonight!! You'll be holding your little girl before you know it! :)
Hi everyone else! Hope you're hanging in there.
The girlies had their first ped visit Friday. All went well, he was pleased with thier weight gain of about 10 ounces each since birth. And he said we could ease up on the strict every-three-hours feeding schedule they had been on, and space the feeds farther apart but increase the amounts each time. This has been great for Mom and Dad's sanity! :)
The girls are doing so well. They don't cry at all until they are hungry, (and usually we catch the other cues before they get all the way to crying) and they go right back to sleep shortly after they are done. I know it won't last long, but I am enjoying this time while I can!
DH is going back to work tomorrow, but my mom will be around to help me, so it should go just fine.
I had my first shower yesterday (finally!). It was small, but I had a good time. Although, I really really missed my girls!
Anyway, that's whats going on with us. And of course I can't leave without dropping off a pic...
A very exahausted me with my girlies after the shower. Natalie is in purple and Megan is in pink.
LDS - you look great! You and the girls are beautiful - thanks for dropping off pics!
Lauren -I hear you on the sleep thing! I managed to sleep in till 9:30 - but that's only b/c I went to bed at 2:30! Then again, that's a pretty good stretch - I can't complain. (not including the multiple bathroom breaks, of course!)
I head back to the dr. on Tuesday (my due date!) and have an appointment set up for Friday as well in case I have not had the baby by then (highly likely in my opinion!)
So, a belly shot from last night if nobody minds and a pic of DH and I ...
Have a great day!
Thank you for all the good wishes from everyone!
I'm getting nervous again of course. I'm also really not wanting this pregnancy to end. No one around me seems to understand that feeling. Everyone says I should be excited to meet Madeline. I'm just feeling very emotional right now I guess. My life is about to change in a huge way. I hope I'm ready.
I don't really have anyone to post after the delivery. So I'll let you know how it all went when I get home from the hospital (Tuesday I hope).
Good luck to everyone else!!
robyn my goodness you are cute. You clean up REAL nice :D
I do admit I have a bit of baby envy right now. Went to church today and got a lot of the "look". You know, "THE LOOK". The "you're still pg look". :) Then stopped by the grocery store on the way home and got a number of comments. Am I THAT big? :)
MommaO Yeah..I know that 'look'. :rolleyes: I get it just about everywhere I go these days and I just want to tell people that she'll come when she's good and ready. And I'm not even 40 weeks, but people stare at me like I'm a month past due or something. {{sigh}}
LDSAngel Love the pics and I can't believe how fast the girls are growing already! And yay for having a shower finally! That was overdue, huh?
Not much new here. Just running around like a maniac trying to get everything done. Today was another marathon baby laundry day and I'm still not through with it all!! Unreal how much stuff we have for baby girl. And I'm trying to get my thank you notes written for the shower, and finish crocheting the baby blanket I'm making for her, and about a million other things. All in time for D-Day this Thursday!! :eek: I am so overwhelmed....
You're officially swelling now? Forgive me for laughing a bit - I have been so swollen for so long I can't imagine it just starting! I could scare the bejeesus out of everyone if I showed you a pic of my feet! Needless to say, I wore flip flops to the wedding last night ;)
Lauren - hope you get some relief soon! I'm not nauseous - but I'm not feeling great either. I don't think anything is happening here though - I feel more like I have round ligament pain than contractions. I think baby boy or girl is going to take his/her time getting here.
Robyn...OMG, your poor feet and poor you. :( Thats just awful. And here I was feeling sorry for me and my Michelin Man feet..I think you've got me beat. Although mine did turn a rather lovely shade of purple after I let them dangle loose for too long today.:rolleyes: DH freaked when he saw that. And thanks for the compliment on the photoshow. Comcast just started offering that program and DH took our professional shots and had a ball. Would you believe that whole thing only took him about an hour to do? I cried when I watched it for the first time and then I called my sister (the one in the show) and had her watch it. She cried too and then I cried listening to her cry. :o Ahh....aren't pregnancy hormones just grand?
Robyn...OMG, your poor feet and poor you. :( Thats just awful. And here I was feeling sorry for me and my Michelin Man feet..I think you've got me beat.
Ahh....aren't pregnancy hormones just grand?
No worries - I keep telling everyone, if this is the worst that's happened to me (and like I said, those feet are not actually the worst they've been) I'm pretty darn lucky! I challenge anyone to beat the current state of my Michelin man feet, hehe. Those still had indentations from my socks - it's even more interesting when I've been barefoot the whole time.
I almost cried watching your video too, so I understand why you did! Pregnancy hormones are just lovely - I'm sure post-partum ones are great too :)
You are so lucky you are getting to meet K on Thursday! Enjoy every minute of these last few days of pregnancy! I'm going to remind myself to do that as well.
ETA - sorry I am a posting fool tonight - I just keep coming in here and taking breaks from tv. I really think I should be packing my bag though, *lol* I'm bad!
ETA #2 - Beevo - believe it or not, 98% of the time they don't even bother me - they're just ugly. I keep telling everyone we should share pics of them with 16 years olds as birth control! *lol*
My BP is great - it's just the feet. In fact, I'm usually 120/70 (pregnancy) - last week hit 130/70 at first (got me signed out of work :)) - but after lying down on my left side for 5 minutes I was back to 110/70 - so, just a lot of swelling.
Beevo - I've seen your posts in the belly shot thread and I really feel for you!
beevo12
07-08-2007, 07:48 PM
Well good that your BP is low! :) I wish I could post in here more but my 20 month old is killing me. LOL. Yes...the belly....it really is painful and I feel it may snap off my body at any minute. I've gotten "the look" from strangers since about 28 weeks. It's really getting to me and I've been told by certain friends I'm not allowed in public anymore because I'm so ready to fight someone.:p I was in Walmart with my son and with a friend and her son....well we were in separate aisles but I could see her through the bike racks and this couple comes up to her and starts talking and I can barely hear him but he's saying...."You know your friend?, when is she due, she's going to give birth in walmart, are you sure there is only one in there?" She pointed to me behind them and they were all like..."Oh Hey!!" Who does that?!:rolleyes:
I hope everyone else is doing well, congrats to all the mommies so far, I'm surprised there aren't more! I wanted to share my baby bedding that I made myself, I'm so proud of it and love it. LOL. **tooting my own horn**
~~~~~
38w6d - We are just getting back from up north and not much is going on here at all. I have my 39 week checkup tomorrow and also an ultra sound to check her weight. I'm really excited to see her and get the estimate! :D I'm sure shes not small.

Unlike, almost all of you, I'm still not in a hurry to get her out. These last weeks and days are flying and really doesn't seem like she should even be here! I also still can't picture myself a mother of 2, a mother of a baby girl, etc. Life will be changing BIG time over here! This is my last PGcy and I'm hoping for a non induced VBAC so I'm just waiting patiently trying to enjoy the looks, questions, and last baby movements. I love the anticipation!

Unlike, almost all of you, I'm still not in a hurry to get her out. These last weeks and days are flying and really doesn't seem like she should even be here!

I'm totally with you..DH keeps telling the baby to break mommy's water and come on out and I keep telling her not to listen! I was hoping to carry her all the way to 40 weeks, but my OB is so concerned about her size and rate of growth that she just wants to take her a week early. Okay, so I have to deal with that, but that doesn't mean I want her to come even earlier!! DH was begging her to come on the 4th, and when that didn't happen, he was hoping for the 7th. And then I woke up this morning to him patting my tummy and telling her she can come out today. Sheesh. Can I have my last few days puh-leeze????? :rolleyes::cool:

We still have like nothing done. The room is still not painted or the crib up but A will be with us for a month or so. I guess we still have time right:rolleyes: I did pack my ba though

Thanks for the compliments on the bedding!

Lisa I've been really hot lately!! My DH is covered in blankets during the day while I walk around in my underwear and bra sweating. LOL. Hopefully we'll be sleeping better soon...well....at least a more comfortable sleep. ;)

Dana So are you excited for your u/s?:p I think you are. I have my appt today too to see if G is still breech. Please god I hope not.

Well my MIL is coming to stay with us today until the baby is born and sometime after so she can watch DS when we go to the hospital. I'm sort of glad she'll be here since I can finish up whatever I have to do without DS undoing all of it.

My 37 week appt is today, the baby has been breech since 20 weeks. LOL. Every u/s has shown breech. I went and got the Webster manuever done at the chiro last week and he really straightened me out and said the baby should turn. I still think she's breech though. But my sciatica is gone!(pretty much) I'll be back later to update and I should be able to be more active in here since MIL is here. YAY!

Beevo- yeah on your MIL coming. You'll be able to get so much done, if you want;) I know exactly how you feel with a 20 month old. DS was 20 months when I had my DD. Gosh I was so tired during that time. Kudos to you! Praying G switched form breech...silly girl

well DH just told me one of the kids that works for him and is in foster care is coming to stay with us for a few months. I knew it was a possibility but didnt think this soon. He will be here a few days then football camp (yes he's older 15 or 16) and will be back the day ofter my EDD so I think we will be asking to be induced. I was kind of hoping labor might kick in but now with 4 boys in this house I cant wait so be praying my Dr is compassionate and is willing to help a crazy pregnant lady;) off to go clean out a closet for him and do laundry

Congrats Diana and Gator, and Welcome to the world Lilliana and Taylor!!

Michelle - The girls are looking great (as are you)

Robyn - Very cute pics, sorry about your feet...just a little longer

Katie - Good luck, hopefully everything is going/went smoothly

Beevo - The bedding is just beautiful!

Lisa - I agree with Kym. You guys are so generous. Hopefully everything goes well (with both the new boys ;) )

Me - I had my last appointment on Thursday. Dr was concerned about my BP and my progress (1cm, 0% effaced)...so she's going to induce on Friday. I will go to the hospital Friday night for Cytotec or Cervidil and then the Pitocin will start Saturday morning if I'm not already in labor. I have been doing everything I can since then to get this boy out naturally. Nothing seems to be working. I'm so worried about the induction. I just want him to come out on his own. I suppose we shall just wait and see.

Bee - Justin is the same way ofcourse. He's certainly not in a rush! I'm really not either. Its definitely going to be crazy around here. I still don't believe it.

~~~~~~~~
Well, I had my 39 week check up. Everything was great, BP 108/69 and she still didn't check me. I also got to see my baby girl all squished in there. She's still head down, facing my right side, just what I thought. But get this her weight estimate at 39w0d is.......
9lbs 2oz to 9lbs 7oz!!!!!
My son was 9lbs but that was late. OMG. I just don't think a VBAC will be happening. I saw the doc BEFORE the u/s so I guess I won't get her opinion until next Monday, my due date.
Things are going to start moving around here quite quickly, eh? :)
So it appears that I was one of the first to start dialating and I'll end up being on of the last to deliver. Figures :rolleyes: I bake my babes quite well, apparently.
Had my first appointment of the week. Now that I'm over due I'll go 2x a week for monitoring.
NST was fine, "baby looks great" as the Dr said. Then fluid level check. All looks well. Okay. Because I'm overdue she gave us the option of being induced tomorrow. We declined. I'll go back Friday for more monitoring. If baby girl still doesn't show up we'll induce next Tuesday. *sigh* More waiting but the end is in sight.
Kym Good luck w/ the preparations for your induction later this week.
dana you bake big babies. Hang in there... you can still have your VBAC. That would rock.
beevo YAY for MIL coming! Help is awesome.
browneyedgirl good luck w/ the induction!
lisa As Kym said you and your family are amazing, opening your home is awesome. The world needs more people like you. What a blessing you will be to that kid.
Welcome to the world Taylor and Congrats Gator!!!
I am in a hurry as we have a birthday party to go to then Adam has ball but wanted to give update on my appt.
I am 100% effaced and dialated almost to a 4(he said I was a 4 but he didn't want to say I was!). He said I should go into labor anytime and if I haven't by Thursday to call and they will probably have me come in Thursday or Friday to get my water broke:eek:. So baby sooooon. Okay gotta run!
Kym Good luck w/ the preparations for your induction later this week.
Thank you!! However, mine is actually going to be a planned c-section rather than induction. :) Its easy to get things confused when we have so many mamas getting ready at once! Anyway, I'm sending labor vibes your way in hopes that you won't have to wait till next Tuesday!
Dana Totally not surprised how big the bambino is measuring given what you've told us about the size of your previous babies. I agree with MommaO, you obviously just like to bake 'em big! If its any consolation to you, at 38 weeks (last Thursday) baby girl was measuring at 9lbs, 3oz. :eek:
alliannie Wow!! I'd say you've made some progress!! Good luck and I hope baby arrives very soon for you!
I'm getting alot of crampy pressure down low right now, its uncomfortable but I still don't think anything is really happening. Probably just baby girl grinding her head into my cervix again, which she really seems to enjoy doing. {sigh}
MommaO-hoping little girl wants to join you soon. Both of mine were little stinkers too. Hang in there!
Ali- so jealous of the progress:p Hoping you little man is here soon so we can have our first boy!
Brown- good luck this week and update soon.
Dana- wow thats a big girl! DS and DD were 9lbs but I'm hoping this one is a little smaller. I hope she turns for you by monday!
me- I have an appt wedneday like polk. Maybe we'll both get good news! Well last night we went van shopping. We've been looking for a while now but couldnt really afford what we wanted. BUt I figured with possible 4 kids in the next week or so we better get looking. Well, we bought a van!!! A honda odyssey! I'm loving it. Its a 2005 but it came with some fun extras including a DVD player for the kids. I couldnt be more happy other than a private owner would have saved us just a little bit more money but I love it!!! yeah I can be so cheap. Vehicles are so expensive. We havent had to buy one in 7 years...geez! Okay I'm going to get my day started early I have lots to do before foster son #2 is here and baby of course! Enjoy your Tuesday
Lisa - congrats on the car! Looks like we are both up early.
Annie - wow for such progress! Lucky you - wishing you a safe, fast and easy delivery! (which could be anytime now - wow!)
Today is my due date! Have a drs. appt tonight - I'm not expecting any progress. I'm hoping he / she decides to make an appearance by this weekend, but we'll see.
I too have enjoyed / am enjoying pregnancy so I'm not in a rush - at the same time, I hear you MommaO - I would like to avoid an induction if at all possible.
So, peanut, please make an appearance before mommy needs to file an official eviction plan :D
We put the travel crib (bassinet) together Sunday night and the Pack-n-Play together yesterday so at least some things are getting done. The house is clean - just some more clutter to take care of which I should be able to finish today (if I get myself moving) - so, I'm pretty much ready (but not really, if you kwim? ;) This is big for us since we really just started bringing stuff in the house this week. Furniture won't be delivered until baby arrives.
Well - hope everyone else is able to sleep in! Have a great day and feel good!
Hey everyone - I am still here following along, just haven't posted b/c I am kind of far behind.
Robyn: Hopefully your little one will make an appearance soon (I think its a boy). Also, sorry about your feet - they look so sore.
Lisa: Congrats on the van. We bought one in April. DH loved the Odessey but we have a family member that works for Chrysler and we get a pretty big discount from Chrysler/Dodge so it came down to bottom line price. I call it my mommy mobile.
Annie: Good labor vibes to you!
Gator: Congrats! I like the name Taylor!
Kym: So exciting you will have your little girl soon! I hope everything goes well!
Danaland & Beevo: Sending turning wishes to the both of you, hopefully your babies won't remain breech for very long.
Polka: Good luck at your appt. We are due a day apart and I haven't made any progress either.
MommaO: I have my fingers crossed your little one will come before Tuesday.
Me: I had an appt yesterday for a follow up blood pressure check and to drop off my 24 urine sample. Blood pressure was still high, blood tests came back fine, but I had protein in my urine and have been gaining weight at a quicker pace than the rest of my pregnancy.They think it is pregnancy induced hyper tension instead of pre-eclampsia. They checked to see if they could induce me :eek: and the baby is still really high and I am only dialeted 1cm. So, instead they said no more work and close monitoring. This is my last week at work and I have a lot going on, I told the doctor that I don't have a physical job and I sit all day long. So she said I could work half days. I have to go back tomorrow again for another blood pressure check. They'll have the results from my urine test then and if my blood pressure is fine then I can continue half days the rest of the week. If it is still high, I might be put on complete bedrest or induced. I'm just sick of everyone asking me what I have to be stressed about! The doctor explained it to me as my bodies way of handling the extra burden of carrying a baby. They are just concerned b/c these issues have just suddenly come up in the last week and keep getting a little worse.
Well, I'm here and waiting to here about new babies!!!!
LisaHooray on the new van! That should make a life a little easier for you! I'd say seven years isn't too bad between vehicles. I know people that buy one every two years, which for me is just too much. Anyway, good luck at your appointment tomorrow and hopefully you have made some progress!
Robyn Happy Due Date to you!! :D Wow..time sure went by fast, didn't it? Hope you get everything done that you want to accomplish and that your little peanut decides to come out before your doctor schedules an induction.
j2478 Sorry about the recent complications with your BP and protein in the urine. :( Just relax and take it easy as much as possible and hopefully you will avoid being put on bedrest.
polkadot Saw your belly shot over in that thread, looking good mama! :D Yes, baby girl seems to enjoy finding the most tender spot possible and then grinding whatever into it for extended periods. Fun times. :rolleyes:
I was up till past midnight last night. I was working on the baby blanket that I started crocheting months ago and catching up on some DVR'd shows that I had. But mainly I was awake because I felt so strange. For one thing, the baby was super, super active. I mean like my entire stomach was rolling, bouncing, wiggling, etc. It felt like the baby was trying to come out through my belly button or something. On top of that, I was having menstrual-like cramps that eventually turned into pressure; very low down in my uterus, like right on top of my pelvic bone. I went to bed and then got woken up again around 2:30..DH was awake and asking if I was okay because apparently I was moaning in my sleep. I told him I thought I was having some contractions. They weren't painful, but just an overall tightening sensation across my belly. On top of that, I felt like I had to have a BM, (even though I went right before bed..sorry, TMI), I had hellacious heartburn and lower back pain. DH wanted me to call the doctor because obviously, going into labor is not what we want with a c-section scheduled. But I didn't have anymore contractions and DH put counter-pressure on my back for me, so I eventually fell back asleep. Today I am okay and have only had that tightening sensation one time since waking up about an hour ago. I hope this baby stays put for now, I still have stuff to do! But at what point do I call my doctor should this continue? :confused:
Just updating on my doctors appointment yesterday. My bloodwork came back normal, so seems like the increased blood pressure is not due to pre-eclampsia. However, the blood pressure just keeps going up....The first read was 170/80 something, taking it again immediately it was 160/80something. The caveat is that usually the nurse takes my bp before calling the doctor in, and this time the doctor came in the room just as she was putting the cuff on, with my chart in hand, studying it, so I was sure that meant that the bloodwork came back with bad news. When she told me it was fine, I was so relieved. However, she is worried about the "pregnancy induced hypertension" and started talking induction because of that. They took the bp again after resting on my side for 5 minutes and the top number was down to 130 but the bottom number was up again (she didn't say what it was but I think it was the high 90's). So, I convinced the doc to let me monitor my bp at home for a day, but she wants me back tomorrow to check bp again, and she told me if it's still high she will send me straight to the hospital to induce.
Ugh. So not what I want. Let's hope for natural labor before then, or for a big reduction in bp. So far, monitoring at home the lowest reading I've gotten is 135/87. Of course, I'm still stressed at home about trying to get low readings (they've generally been 140's over 90's). Going to acupuncture today to both stimulate points for low blood pressure and points to try to get my body prepared for labor.
Robyn Yay, happy due date! Thanks for posting that pic of your feet, it makes me feel a bit better about how huge mine have been. Though surprisingly they have been much better the last few days - I can almost see veins!!!
Beevo Wow, that bedding is gorgeous, I'm so jealous. Sorry about baby being breech, have you thought of trying acupuncture? My acupuncturist told me that there is a point that "will make baby turn." ;)
j2478 Sounds like we are in a similar boat regarding PIH. I hope both our babies come before we have to induce.
Kym Hope things work out for you. I have no idea if what you were feeling means anything...though it sounds like it could. I'd call your doctor if you start feeling contractions with any regularity.
Polka Sorry you are feeling so miserable.
Katie thinking of you and hope you have your baby in your arms!
Kazata: Sorry you are going thru the same thing. I think them telling me I have pregnancy induced hypertension has made it worse. Now I have this to worry about too:( I wonder if they would not have told me anything was wrong if I would just be going along in my merrily way without having to worry if I am overdoing it or what my blood pressure is. Good luck at your appt tomorrow, I have one too!
Happy Due Date Robyn!! Hopefully you have good news at your appt tonight.
Sorry to everyone having blood pressure problems. That just sucks:(.
Congrats Lisa on the new van! I also didn't post to you last time but I think its awesome you are a foster family. My mom did that when I was little and hopefully some day we are in a place where we will be able too. I think it is an amazing thing.
Kym-I would just call your dr. if you feel something is going on. At most it will just be a false alarm and those don't hurt anyone! I still am nervous I won't know when labor starts and when to go in so I understand.
Well I am obviously still here and still pregnant! I am trying to be as active as possible to kick labor into gear. Today I have been shopping and road a 4-wheeler but still with no sucess:p. Gonna go ride the 4-wheeler again after I finish laundry too. I really want to avoid Friday so I will just keep going. I am pretty uncomfortable though with crampy feelings and pressure so lets hope this gets going! Thanks for all the labor wishes, maybe I will actually have him on my due date(tomorrow!!).
Kym - That's pretty much exactly what I was having last night. Lower back pain, my stomach was sooo tight, and there were times it seemed worse with maybe a bit of pain, so maybe contractions, I don't know.
Also, Ali is HEAD DOWN!! I can't believe I typed breech in my last post! (I must have been thinking of you Beevo.) She's head down, facing my right side.
I finally gave in and called my doctor at DH's insistence. Also because I'm still having that tightening sensation today. My doctor wasn't overly concerned. She did say its quite possible that I am in the very early stages of labor. :eek: But also that its likely that I will make it till my Thursday morning appointment for the c-section. She just told me to start timing them if they got more intense and frequent and to watch for stuff like my water breaking (duh). She also told me to take it easy and drink lots of fluids. Well, the fluids I can do, but as I was on the phone with her, I was in the middle of cleaning my bathroom. And after I hung up, I scrubbed all of the bathroom floors. (mine, DH's and the tub/shower room, which is separate from our bathrooms) And now I'm getting ready to sweep and mop my kitchen. I'm sorry, but this stuff has GOT to get done and no way am I asking DH to do it after he's been busting his as$ delivering mail all day in this horrendous heat. I'll rest later, I guess. Anyway, doc gave me her cell phone number and told me to call her if I feel like things are progressing and need to go to the hospital.
Oh, I absolutely agree. I think my stressing about blood pressure is part of why my readings are so high. Granted, I probably have a little bit increased bp, but I think it would likely be 130's over 80's, if I wasn't so worked up about the dang thing every time it's measured. I wish I could just go back to my calm relaxed self just waiting for baby to arrive whenever baby wants, rather than being stressed about baby coming soon.
Hey all -
sorry about the BP issues Kazata and jen. Had my drs. appt tonight. No new progress. (I'm 1-2 cm - maybe and 60-70%) In fact, she went ahead and scheduled me for an induction next week in case nothing happens before then :( - not sure how I feel about that.
Induction is scheduled for next Tuesday so 41 weeks. I don't know if I'm upset about being induced - or b/c I can no longer be in denial - one way or another, our peanut should be here in a week or less :eek:
Still not sure how I feel about being induced.
Sorry for no SO's - that's all I've got for now.
