Just wondering if anyone else has their produce selected for them and delivered. We are just starting to use a service like this instead of going to the farmer's market each week. I am hoping that our box tomorrow will be filled with things that I know how to cook, but I'm sure I can figure it out if there is new things...

Are you in SF? Friends in my area use http://www.planetorganics.com/index.asp and like it very much. It's obviously geared toward the organically inclined but there are also other delivery services that people use. I am never home at the same time so I have not been able to set up service, but one day I hope to!

I am in SF. A friend recommended Guerrillaorganics.com and that is who I am trying this week. I see the Planet Organics vans around, if this isn't quite right then maybe I will try them next.
I'm not home during the day either, but they can leave it at the door.

I'm so very pleased. The produce was delivered bright and early, it was on my doorstep when we went out front at 8:30. Everything looks fresh and wonderful, great selection too, we got:
cabbage
cauliflower
rainbow chard
red leaf lettuce
basil
green beans
tomatoes
new potatoes
carrots
grapefruit
oranges
bananas
limes
and strawberries
We got the regular size box and it has plenty for the week and cost less than I would have paid for all of this at our farmers market and I didn't have to lug it up the hill. :D

I used Pioneer Organics last summer, and it was a fabulous service. I really liked it a lot. They delivered the box to my office every other week, and it was enough 'extras' ... I'd just buy a few other things at the grocery store every week.
I think they are only in Portland & Seattle, though...

Hey! How's your service going? We just got our Wed from Capay:
Zucchini
Broccoli
Eggplant
French Plums
Grapes
Cherry tomatoes
Heirloom tomatoes
Red Peppers
Ambrosia Melon
They just started a monthly herb, too. This month was lavendar, but it wasn't in our box for some reason
Also new is the ability to order things from their store. I had some homemade strawberry jam delivered too.
I really like our service, but if you love yours maybe I'll try yours one week to see which is better.

Hey Bloomwood,
I skipped our delivery this week because I knew I was going to be way busy, but I'm having it back again next week. Last week we got:
strawberries
romaine lettuce
collard greens
green leaf lettuce
bananas
grapefruits
oranges
green beans
potatoes (white)
kiwis
celery
parsley (flat leaf)
Bok Choy
onion (yellow)
carrots
brocolli
tomatoes
I absolutely love our service, I've been recommending them like crazy. When I was looking for a service one of the things that I really wanted was a complete replacement for the produce market or the produce section at the grocery store. Guerrilla organics was one of the few that I saw that gives you salad stuff, veggies to cook and fruit as well as all of your basics like potatoes, onions, etc.
The delivery is scheduled for Wednesday morning, but it seems to be more like middle of the night on Tuesday, so it is there in plenty of time to put it all away before work. I can't remember if you are in SF or on the Peninsula, so I'm not sure if you are in their delivery area, but if you are I would definitely try it for a week.
Do let me know if you try them and how you think the two compare.

Thanks ladies for posting these. I have once tried Farm Fresh to you and now am curious about the others. It was delivered to my work last time which was a TOTAL pain--try getting on the Bart with a box of veggies!
