If anyone is interested, next Monday 6/18, Dateline NBC will be airing an interview with Prince William and Prince Harry. This year is the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death, so they discuss that. They also talk about how normal of a life the princes can live and what they'd do if they weren't princes.

Here's a link to a transcript of some of the interview:

Royal interview (http://www.drudgereport.com/flash7.htm)

LAUER: As I was leaving the States telling people I was gonna come talk to you-- as you're about to mark the tenth anniversary of your mom's death I can't tell you how many people said, "Wow has it been ten years?" That it seems like two years or it seems like three years. How has the time gone by for you two?

PRINCE HARRY: Personally really, really slowly actually. It's weird because I think when she -- she passed away there was never that time -- there was never that sort of lull. There was never that sort of peace and quiet for any of us - the fact that her face was always splattered on the paper the whole time.

Over the last ten years I personally feel as though she has been-- she's always there. She's always being a constant reminder to both of us and everybody else. And therefore I think when you're being reminded about it, it does take a lot longer and it's a lot slower.

I'm DVR'ing this and cannot wait to watch. I've never even heard them speak. I'm psyched (and incredibly curious).

I know this sounds dorky, but I can't get over how grown up they are, both such handsome young men! Having lost a mother at a young age, I know how hard it is to be without her. I am sure she would have been so proud of the adults they are becoming, though;)

I saw a clip of the interview when Matt Lauer was on Larry King Live last week. I'll definitely be watching or DVRing tonight.
I was amazed at HOW tall they are...I knew they were both pretty tall guys...but they are walking along side Matt lauer, who I believe is over 6 feet and they were significantly taller than him.

I'm very interested in watching this tonight. Princess Di passed away during a very significant period in my life - my mom passed away about 4 months before & I had very major surgery just days before Princess Di's accident - so I remember the timing & the events pretty clearly. The Princes are a couple of years younger than my brother & I so we can kind of relate to certain aspects of their situation. Minus the royalty thing, of course.

I watched Dateline last night and thought it was wonderful. I think that it was the 1st time you were able to see them as people, and not royalty. I think that is the way they would like other people to see them as well. They seem to understand the facination people have with them but at the same time they are very much like their mother in the fact that they know how to show only so much to the press and keep a personal life as personal as they can. I think their mother would be extremely proud of the way they turned out...

And Wills is the spitting image of his Mum and Harry gets cuter and cuter...:D

I watched this last night and all I can say is Diana would be sooo proud of her boys. I thought they were fantastic, just great boys/men that seem to have perspective. I also though Matt Lauer did a great job with the interview. I really like his style.

I would have liked to hear more about their relationship with their father etc., but respect that it was a tribute to the celebration of their mothers life.

Actually, I think Matt Lauer is under 6 feet tall - I remember reading somewhere that he is not as tall as he appears on tv.

I could not get over how young Diana was when she died. I knew she married young and had the boys young, but she was not much older than me when she died!

I remember the night that she died so clearly. I was driving home with friends from a retreat in VA and we were sort of lost in the middle of nowhere. We were all a little scared because there were just farms and woods around us and it was very dark out. We heard Diana died on the radio and it just added to the scared feelings we had driving in an unfamiliar place at night.

Both William and Harry are tall and very attractive, in their own ways. I thought they were both really funny. I loved that they poked fun at each other throughout the interview.

That pic they chose of Diana for the website is gorgeous.

ITA. I have never been all that interested in "royal" anything, but when it came to Princess Diana and now her sons, my interested sparked. I enjoyed watching the intereview. They were so charming, down-to-earth and just sweet and kind young men. Sometimes you can tell when people are putting on a front for the cameras, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I agree that their mother would be very proud of them.

I just saw this, which means I missed the show. Hopefully NBC will have some clips online.

I enjoyed the interview as well. On the one hand, they just seemed like normal young men, joking and poking fun at each other. But I think you could also tell that they were being careful about what they said in places. They've definitely had media training (as people in their position should).

I do think their mother would be proud of them. They've grown into handsome and well-spoken young men who seem to have a healthy perspective on the role they were born into.

Darn, I totally forgot to set my DVR to record this.
If anyone knows when/if there will be a re-broadcast of the interview let a gal know!

I really enjoyed watching it. I don't think I had ever heard Harry speak either. I think I had only heard William the one time he came out and spoke to the press a few years ago. While I think in pictures William is better looking, but Harry was really catching my fancy last night!

I had forgotten how young Diana was when she died - she was younger than me now.

It was interesting to hear Harry speak about Iraq seeing that the interview was in April before it was announced that he wouldn't be going.

Wow 10 years...

I was a little shocked when Matt Lauer referred to them as "men" those boyhood faces are still what come to mind when I think of them.

I'm glad that they have a good relationship and can rely on each other.

I just have to say, Prince Harry has definitely become the more attractive of the two princes!

Totally agree - I couldn't get over how yummy he looked - and he seemed to overflow with personality.

I enjoyed the interview as well. I thought both boys handled themselves well. As others have stated, I think Diana would be very proud.

*I, too, was strangely drawn to Harry. :p
