I am so frustrated right now with the fleas. I want to see if there is anything else I should be doing. Our problem is that our neighbors behind us now have 2 dogs that stay outside all the time and we're pretty sure they aren't treating them for fleas. Everytime Beau goes outside he gets reinfested.

- We have treated our whole yard with flea treatment.
- We have treated our dog with Frontline and had him washed/flea dipped at PetSmart.
- I am being vigilant about vacumming, sweeping and washing rugs.

Right after we had him washed and treated with Frontline the fleas reduced drastically but it has been 3 weeks and the fleas are now so thick that I won't put my DD down on the floor at all! Poor Beau is spending so much time away from us because I'm grossed out by the fleas. He is due for another Frontline treatment this weekend. Is there anything else that we should be doing? We have never had this problem before.

Our pest control company will treat the inside of the house for fleas for $50 but everyone has to be gone for at least 4 hours while it is bombed. Plus the guy seemed a bit iffy about doing it with an infant in the house.

We had the same problem last year when the IL's were down visiting - we had to keep our 3 dogs outside almost 24/7 (they hate dogs). We tried everything we could to get rid of them and finally after finding one crawling on my arm one night  we decided to bomb the house. DH went to the hardware store and got the bombs and we did it on a saturday morning. We left and were gone almost all day long and when we got back, DH went in, opened all the windows, turned on the fans to air the house out and an hour later we went back. I was 8 months pregnant at the time and was worried about being in the house afterwards, but I could hardly smell it after it was aired out. And here almost a year later I haven't seen any since!

Good luck, fleas are nasty little things...

You can also try usingthe frontline every 3 weeks as opposed to 4.

Ask your neighbors if they are treating their dogs. Explain your situation and ask if they're having the same problem.

We had horrible fleas in one of our apartments (we think they were there before we moved in), and even bombing didn't help a bit. What finally worked was Raid flea spray. It comes in a purple can, and you spray it on your carpet, furniture, whatever. Within a day, they were completely gone.

Also, you might want to try Frontline spray instead of the little packet. We used the packets on our cat, and he'd still be covered in fleas. I guess it just wasn't spreading properly. So we tried the spray, and while it takes a little more time to apply, it's been much more effective.

You can try Diatomaceous Earth (http://www.perma-guard.com/powder.html), sprinkling it on the boarder between your yard & your neighbor's, the rest of your yard, plus put it on your dogs. It should hang around a little longer than sprays...
