I have rough skin and calluses on both heels, as well as on the pads of my big toes. So far I've tried Avon's Footworks Intensive Callus cream and Dr Scholls Overnight Foot moisturizing lotion. Neither one of them have lived up to their claim of being able to banish the rough skin or even soften it up enough that my feet don't look like crap every day. Can anyone tell me what works for them?

I keep a Pumice stone type thing in the shower and rub it on the calluses/rough spots everyday... THEN apply a lotion to help soften them (also, apply at night and put on some socks, then it will soak in and soften, then when you rub with the pumice in the shower in the morning you will get more dead skin off).
Something like this....

I'm one of those people who has really thick heel calluses (that sometimes crack - ouch!) despite constant lotion, pumice use and pedicures a couple times a month. I have been desperate to do something to make them look and feel better and NOTHING I'd tried had worked. Until now. A few weeks ago I bought Diamancel foot files...the #20 for tough callus removal and #11 for regular buffing. In 10 minutes I got all of my calluses off - my heels have NEVER been so smooth. I do a light buff every few days and still use that Avon intensive callus cream (which I like - but it never got rid of my calluses)...my feet have never looked or felt so good!
They were pricey - about $90 for the two files - but they are diamond files and should last practically forever if I take care of them (washing and drying after each use - easy). Given what I've gone through to get smooth heels in the past this is completely worth it!
You can buy them other places - but here are Amazon links so you can see what I'm talking about.

I used to have a problem with VERY dry feet. I used a foot file at least 2 times per week. Don't use the super coarse side too much. That can actually rough up your foot even more. I always use petroleum jelly cream (not the regular petroleum jelly). I buy the CVS (drugstore) brand and my feet have been very happy with me ever since!

I was just coming to post about Burts Bees stuff!
This stuff from Bath & Body works is good too. It looks like they have a new bottle label so I am hoping the actual lotion is the same as before. It is very thick so you should only use it and then wear socks!

I would recommend Paula's Choice Weightless Body Treatment with 2% BHA. The BHA (beta hydroxy acid; salicylic acid) acts as an exfoliator. And it is great for other dry areas of the body, not just feet.
I don't use it as my regular moisturizer or lotion during the day, though, because when you use it, a lot of skin sloughs off. I tend to use it at night before going to bed. It works especially well as an overnight foot treatment (I rub it into the skin on my feet and wear socks to bed).
I also use a pumice stone regulary to scrub my feet in the shower and occasionally a foot file on my caluses.
For pretty feet during the day, I love Aveda Hand Relief (I know they have a Foot Relief, too, but I haven't tried it. I like the Hand Relief on both my hands and feet.).

I had dry calluses too and tried all kinds of things, finally trying Lamisil (bought a small tube) and it totally works! I put it on my feet at night and they've been baby soft ever since!
jimmysgirl - after pregnancy, you may want to visit a dermatologist or podiatrist. i got a rx for lactinol lotion bc i have such dry heels. the only other thing that really works is a pedicure where they scrape off the dry skin. though, i am afraid to go to most places bc of infection issues.
