Does anyone else have AR? I have had heartburn my whole life. I didn't realize it wasn't normal until it got really bad 2 years ago. It was the summer after my wedding and the AR made me so nauseous I went from 105 to 93 pounds in 3 months.
I finally went to my doctor and she told me to try Pepcid AC twice a day for a couple weeks to see if it helped. It did and I gained the weight back, but the AR came back with my pregnancy and now (7 months post-partum) it is still pretty bad. The Pepcid AC no longer helps.
It is so hard for me because I LOVE tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, vinegar, mustard, italian salad dressing.... but just writing those words makes my chest burn.
So I am getting ready to go back to the doctor, but I don't feel very "prepared." I don't know much about the different treatments there are or whether or not I can just try a different OTC med. (I am no longer BFing so that is not an issue)
If anyone else out there has dealt with this please let me know what worked for you. I don't want to get back to the point where I look sickly and my family thinks I have an eating disorder! And I want to eat lasagna, dang it!
