Hi ladies.
Any suggestions you have for drying up breast milk would be wonderful.
It's been 5 weeks since I last breastfed.
I am still leaking. If I wear a bra with breast pads it's fine. It's when I'm just when I'm not wearing a bra that I soak my shirt. You can say, why not just wear a bra...but wearing a bra non stop (including in bed) got old.
So far I have tried cabbage leaves, sage tea and no hot showers (and when it's 90+ degrees, this is not a tough thing to do).
Any more suggestions?
Wear a tight bra (like a sports bra) all the time. No stimulation to your breast.
It sucks I know. With my last kido, it seemed like for ever before my breast milk would dry up.

Ace bandages and a sports bra worked for a friend of mine. I used frozen peas to dry up my right side a few months ago.

These are all the things I have heard:
Cold pressure, frozen peas or wash cloth
No warm/hot showers
Don't let the water hit them while in the shower
No stimulation
Lay back on the sex, as it can help with milk let down
Tight bra, sorts bra or ace bandage
I hope you dry up soon.

Drinking sage tea is supposed to help. It does not taste great, though.

I am so sorry for your loss Jennylou. I know the feeling of having milk but no baby to nurse. It is totally and completely agonizing.
One thing that may help that I have not seen mentioned much is trying an antihistamine like Sudafed - the little red ones.

I wrapped myself pretty tight in ace bandges and ice packs and it seemed to help. I dried up pretty quickly. Good luck.

Basil and sage supposedly work well, too.
I am so sorry for your loss, Jenny.
