Sal - I think both of them are adorable! I love Katie's smile in the first one. She looks so happy! And I'm so jealous of her hair. Have you put bows in yet?

Jane - Thanks so much for setting this up. I've been such a bad threadmistress. :( How is work lately? Hopefully you're not working all those hours anymore.

Jennifer - she's gotten so big! such a pretty smile! don't worry about it, I hadn't updated in a long, long time. I'm in the middle of my week of long hours. So far it's ok - I did 5 days in a row, including working open to close on Sunday and survived. I work the next 2 nights and then 8hrs on Saturday. As of a little while ago the schedule for next week still wasn't out yet. I didn't ask for Sunday off for Mother's Day but since it is just a few days away I would like to know if I am working or for how long I'm working so that I could make plans. Its rather annoying that we get so little notice of the schedule. I keep saying that I don't know how long I'll last. I'd like to take a week off next month and I'm not sure if they'll give me grief over it or not. It's hard to get used to that sort of thing after being out of work for a year.

No way - I have a toddler

Love the new pics guys. Mel - Looks like Ben loves the camera :p

I think we're getting a new car tomorrow - yippee! The dealer finally found one with the everything we wanted AND we got a decent quote on selling our Tahoe, so it's almost a done deal. I'll keep driving my car and DH will have the new one til the new baby's born, then we'll switch.

Speaking of baby, I am getting sooo big :o Txfish - how are you feeling? Have you felt like this pregnancy's flown by too? It's like I blinked and here I am 5 months done.

I'm sitting here listening to H cough in his sleep :( I really hope he's not getting sick (or already there). We're off on our "in-town" vacation tomorrow and although I know my mom will take good care of him, I'm sure I'll still worry.

Such cute pics!

I guess this is where we belong cuz those pics aren't of little babies. Thanks for the new thread Jane.

Wishing you all a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

We're going to my sister's house, my parents will be there, too. I made my Mom a little book from Shutterfly - a "Thank You" book, she does so much to help and she babysits 2x week. We also bought a Little Tikes swing for the tree in her yard. My babies love the swings. We always stop at the swings while we're on our walks.

Devon's walking - Brycen's not. He's a more laid back kind of guy, where as she's a nosey little thing, getting into everything.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

We went to a sign language class this morning. It was fun to learn new signs. Poor Jacob was bitten by another child. He was upset for a few minutes but I think I was more upset by it than him. When we got home and DH saw the bite he was upset too. It's so hard to see them get hurt. :(

Here is a pic of the bite (about 2 hours later)

Kopper that's terrible!! poor little guy must have really screamed :( Dylan is a passive kid and gets hit a lot by one of his "friends" and it makes me so sad. the other pics were so cute

Saphirmalmei What a little man! how adorable

Mel awwww what a ham! I love his big cheesy grin

Jennifer Marin's eyes are absolutely gorgeous in that first pic. I don't think I ever realized how clear blue they are! she'll have enough hair for barrettes soon!

It's so nice seeing all the pictures! I feel like we were in a picture drought. I hope everyone has a wonderful and special Mother's Day!!!!! Dylan made me his first school mother's day card with his handprint he painted on. I absolutely love it :)

Kopper - OMG! That bite is huge! I hope Jacob is ok now.

Sal - Too funny, Caden made a handprint for Mother's Day at school. DH had it framed for me already and it's my favorite gift ever.

Other than not feeling well, today has been great so far. We had lunch with my family and then had just some mommy, daddy, Caden and Marin time. The kids and DH got me a new Kitchenaid hand mixer. Mine died Easter weekend and it's a discontinued color so I was worried I wouldn't be able to replace it. We are going to grill out for dinner and then eat outside since the weather is so nice. Too bad mother's day isn't more often!

Hope everyone is having a great Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

I worked 8hrs at Gymboree yesterday - makes me really appreciate having today off!!!!!!

DH went out and bought the Home Depot swing set kit today!! And then we went out for a really yummy lunch and brought desert home for later. :) It's been a nice day.

My MIL is back in the hospital again. So DH might have to go pick her up tomorrow (3hrs away) and either take her home or bring her back here for a few days. So I'm trying to do some cleaning just in case she does come here. I have to work tomorrow night so he'll be hauling Joey around with him. Not ideal but at least he should sleep some in the car. It works out great for me b/c I'll have a few hours to myself to get stuff done before I have to go to work.

Kopper - wow, that's an impressive bite wound. We have a biter in our playgroup so Joey has been bitten a lot but she's never left such a thorough wound on him.

great pictures Kopper, SaphirimalMei and Mel. :)

Oh my goodness, Kopper, I hope he's OK. I'm scared I'm going to have a biter on my hands. H has been putting everything into his mouth lately, and just this weekend has started to bite at our shirts when he gives us hugs. I'm not sure what to do but tell him "no biting" and distract him with something else. I'm going to talk to his teachers tomorrow at school and make sure they watch out for it too - I would hate for him to bite another child.

Sal03 - Thanks! I'm sorry Dylan get hit. It's so hard to see them get hurt esp. by another kid.

Jennifer - It sounds like you had a nice Mother's Day. It would be nice if we had it twice a year. :D

Jane - Glad you had yesterday off. Can't wait to see the swingset. Cute, cute pics!

LittleStar - Jacob is a biter too but so far he has only bit us. He usually only tries to bite feet. :o We tell him "no bite" and move whatever part he is trying to bite. I know he understands "no" because he will stop whatever he is doing when I say it. I do hope he never tries to bite another kid.

---
We had a pretty gross experience this afternoon. When Jacob woke up from his nap he was a little disoriented. I took him in the restroom with me and he was fussing so I picked him up. He then proceeded to cough and then vomit ALL over me, the floor, himself and even the walls. It was so gross! Poor baby! I have no idea what is wrong with him. He doesn't have a fever and has been acting fine since. Thank goodness DH was home. He got cleanup duty and gave Jacob a bath while I took a shower. I have never seen so much vomit even when he had rotavirus. The only thing I can think of is that he had cheddar cheese at lunch. He has had it before but it has been 2 months or so. He seems ok now so hopefully it was a one time thing.

So sad to realize our little ones are no longer babies.

I keep forgetting to look for our group in the Toddler threads...

I have had the work week from you know where! I just finished a portion of a project, which has to be completely finished tomorrow. It's been such a pain, but hopefully I will be finished by end of day Thursday, then I'm out of town on Friday for a work function. My firm flies the attorneys and spouses someplace in state once a year for a big social event. And I get to have a massage at the spa - can't wait.

H is driving me crazy with the food throwing at mealtimes. I don't know what to do. Saying "no" just makes him laugh (and I don't want to overuse the word, kwim?). Any pointers or is it just him acting his age, and he'll grow out of it (I hope:o ). 2 of my kitchen chairs now sport ruined cushions - I guess letting a toddler eat spaghettios with his hands wasn't such a good idea :p

Kopper

LittleStar - Have fun getting a massage! We usually have the same eatting problem with Jacob. I say usually b/c he is now refusing to eat at all right now.

---
So my hope that Monday's episode was an isolated incident was gone two hours later when he puked again. He has been struck with some kind of bug. It's not as bad as rotavirus but he is still pretty misrable. He has both vomitting and diarrhea. Yuck! :( Thank goodness he only has a very low grade fever. He hasn't had any episodes since yesterday afternoon but he also has pretty much refused to eat or drink anything. He is nursing and will drink some water. Thank goodness for nursing! I'm glad I can provide him with some nutrition even if it is only a small amount (my supply is pretty low). For dinner last night he had a few Elmo crackers and 1/2 a lime popsicle. He refused breakfast and had a few crackers for lunch. I have tried everything I can think of but he isn't having it. He won't take any drink besides water or BM either.

Hi ladies. :)

Not much going on here. DH is making progress on the swing set. If I'm lucky it'll be done by the end of next weekend. :)

Our anniversary is coming up later this week. And then I turn 30 in another week and a half. :( I'm not sure what we're doing to celebrate either event.

We're doing family photos on Friday.

We're TTC #2 now. :D I feel ready now but if it takes a few months it wouldn't be a bad thing. We may skip the next 2 months after this one to avoid a birthdate close to Joey's birthday. I can't decide how bad it would be to have birthdays close together.

Working at Gymbo is going ok. I still worked more hours last week then I'd like to but they were more spread out so it wasn't too bad. I've had the last two Sundays off and that's been really nice.

Kopper - I hope Jacob is feeling better!

LittleStar - Joey throws his food too. And we have a dog so the dog just encourages him. He also likes to take my glasses off and throw them. And throw his toys. Nothing I do seems to discourage him at all.

Shania - hope you are having a nice visit with your DH in London!

JenniferEC

shania - Stop back in and let us know how things are going!

Jane - I hope you get your swingset soon. You're going to have a lot of celebrating coming up. Good luck TTC! My kids are 3 weeks apart, and the only negative is the parties so close together.

Littlestar - Cleaning up the food is no fun! Hopefully the stage will pass soon for you!

I have my yearly on Tuesday and am going to ask about different forms of bc. (No TTC #3 anytime soon!) And then Marin has a weight check on Wed. She's barely been eating so I have no idea where her weight is. I've been trying so many things and she just takes a couple of bites and then is done.

Jane&Andy
05-21-2007, 06:35 AM
thanks Jennifer for your input. I figure if they do end up with birthdays close together then I'd just do one party for a few years and once Joey is older and has his own friends I'd go back to separate parties and maybe one family party. Who knows. I'll just wait and see what happens. At this point I worry b/c my family isn't local but I am hoping to eventually move closer to them. Then my in-laws would be the ones who aren't local but I can't see most of them bothering to travel for this sort of thing anyway. It took 4 months with Joey - so if it happens that way again then I'd get a May baby and that would be great. :)

I hope Marin's weight check goes well. I'm anxious for Joey's next appt in June since his weight gain has slowed down so much.

shania - Hope you had a good time with your DH!

Jane - Happy Anniversary and Birthday!! Congrats on TTC #2 and good luck!!

Jennifer - Jacob hasn't been eating either. It's so frustrating when they won't eat. Hope your appointments go well.

---
Jacob is still sick. :( He is vomiting about once per day and diarrhea around two times a day. We took him to the local stand alone ER yesterday to get him checked out. DH had to go out of town last night so we wanted to take DS in to see if they thought he would need to get fluids before DH left. Thankfully DS is pretty well hydrated despite not drinking or eating very much. I guess I have more milk than I thought. He is starting to let me feed him again a little bit. I was able to get him to eat a little applesauce last night and some cereal this morning. He will only feed himself bread products (toast, crackers, waffles). As of three days ago he had lost 1lb 3oz. I'm sure he has lost at least 1.5lbs by now. :( Tomorrow we see his ped again and we will go from there. This afternoon it will be 7 days since he first got sick. I forgot to add that since he has been sick he has been waking up around 3:30am to eat. :( I am so tired.

In other news I am still waiting for my first PPAF. 23 months and counting. We aren't preventing but I don't have much hope of getting pregnant right now. Hopefully AF will be here soon and we can start really TTC.

Kopper - I'm so sorry that Jacob is still sick. I hope the dr. can do something to give him (and you) some relief.

H's new favorite word is "no." He doesn't say it all the time, but when he does, it's with a huge smile and he draws it out, almost like he's enjoying how it rolls off his tongue  He also likes to hit me in the face, say "no", and smile all at the same time. Anyone have a good "dealing with toddlers" book to recommend??

Jane - Too cute that Joey is wearing the same outfit! His sandals look comfy. What brand are they? Marin is wearing some from Target, but I'd like to get her some better ones to start walking in. We did one party this year and will probably do the same next year. They only care about the cake anyway! :)

Kopper - Sorry Jacob is sick! It's good he's eating and maybe he'll put that weight back on soon! Does your DH get back soon? Good luck TTC!

wow, I'd lost track of time. May has totally flown by. Wasn't it just May 1st yesterday? :p Hopefully we hear from Txfish soon about her new little one!

Jennifer - that outfit was the start of my gymbo addiction. :p Not the first piece I bought there, just the one that got me hooked. I bought it off of ebay for this summer before I found that line redone at the outlet. The shoes are preschoolians and I absolutely love them. I bought them direct from their website, shipping was really slow though. The sole is really soft and flexible. Anyway, they'll send you a sizing thingamajig for free (got that awhile ago and IIRC it actually shipped quickly).

Joey woke up from his nap crabby so DH just got home and took him for a walk. I work tonight but it's nice to get this little bit of time alone before I have to finish getting ready.

Jane - Thanks for the sandals info. I looked around their site and they have some cute stuff. I might just have to order a pair or two.

We just got back from Marin's weight check. She is down to 17lb10oz, so she's lost 5 oz since her one year visit. Her ped wasn't in so she's going to call me today or tomorrow. The nurse diagnosed Marin with "feeding problems." Way to make me feel like a good mom! She barely eats and would rather be crawling around than stuck in her high chair. I know her ped said try for 5 meals a day, but I can't get her to eat 3. We've tried a variety of foods, but she just isn't interested. I guess I'll have to wait and see what her ped says.

Sorry I haven't been around but for some reason I am not getting email updates and I keep forgetting to check the toddler thread.

Kyle is doing well. He still isn't walking on his own but has a field day when he walks with us.

Throwing Food-Oh this is a constant battle with us. We say NO but he also just laughs. Usually when he does that I take all the food off his tray though because it can sometimes mean he is done with eating other times he is just playing.

I can't believe that this weekend is already Memorial Day weekend, this month has definitely flown by. I hope the summer doesn't fly by though.

Hmmm I wasn't getting updates either, but it looks like our thread has been pretty dead. Maybe because we are all too busy running after our babies. DH is gone for 3w, so I am bored as ever and lazy.

Ben has been walking for 3 weeks now and he's really good. It's amazing how fast they progress. He also has been doing a few new signs and words. His favorite food is mandarin oranges and cheese and his favorite word and sign are "Dog", though "Da-Da" is a close 2nd. :)

just found this in the May '07 thread! (originally posted by Txfish)

HI everyone -- we are pleased to announce that IT'S A BOY!!!! William Fisher (we're calling him Fisher) arrived at 12:11am on Wednesday May 23, weighing 8 lb 4oz and measuring 21.5 inches. I need to write out our birth story, but for now it's enough to say that I finally had my fabulous L&D nurses I've dreamed of. The pitocin, however, was another story. All in, labor took about 9 hours. We came home yesterday evening and so far so good -- he's sleeping ok, and now that my milk made an appearance has begun latching on better. Still prefers the right over the left though!

Congratulations Txfish! Welcome Fisher! :D

We won't get the proofs back for about 3 wks.

My BIL and his wife babysat last night so that Andy and I could go out for our anniversary - went to the Melting Pot for dinner and then saw Spiderman 3.

Andy is almost done with the swing set. He had high hopes of finishing it today but it was really hot and he got too tired. So it should be done tomorrow.

Butter is once again sick from eating sticks. This is the first time he's done it in months. Dumb dog.

Nothing much new going on with Joey - he still has that new walker waddle (or drunken sailor walk as I like to call it). He still only has a few words. I haven't kept up with trying to teach him signs - need to get back on that wagon.

Jennifer - good luck getting Marin to eat more! Joey is usually an ok eater but some days he won't hardly eat and Mr Five Percenter can't afford to skip any meals! :p

Jane you look great! definitely post the professional shots. mmmmmm melting pot

Txfish congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Eating no problems here. Katie is the absolute opposite of Dylan. she eats everything. makes it so easy! basically all dylan will eat is grilled cheese, peanut butter on bagel and pizza!

Jennifer I got Katie target sandals too! but now that she is taking steps I want better ones. all the ones I looked at from stride rite were over $40. ridiculous. I will check out that site too

Katie is taking more and more steps but not really walking yet. She will walk holding my hand. She is such a sweetheart. Really has an impish side though. WHen she knows she is doing something bad she laughs so hard and looks at us to see what we will do. She and Dylan absolutely love their step 2 water table. mel - I love Ben's smile. He looks like such a ham. :D Mandarin oranges and cheese are Jacob's favs as well.

---
Jacob has been better since the beginning of last week. He is back to normal and eatting a TON. As of a few days ago he had gained back 1/2 of what he had lost. We took him to Red Robin yesterday and he ate 1/2 of his turkey burger!

Words - Jacob says "mama", "dada" and "baby". Baby can mean animals, babies or other people. If we ask him where Sally or Bailey (or dog and 1 of our cats) are he will point to them. He doesn't really pay a lot of attention to our other cat Pipi b/c she hides from him.

Congrats to Txfish!

Jane - Great pics! The swingset looks great and Joey looks like he's loving the swing! I hope Butter is better soon.

Kopper - Glad Jacob is better. I hope your DH isn't traveling so much. I love Red Robin! Now I'm going to have to go there soon!

Sal - More great pics! Katie is looking so grown up and I love the curls in her hair! We'll have to set our water table up soon. I got Caden water shoes at Target, but Marin is in size 2/3 and they didn't have them that small.

Mel - Ben is so cute and such a ham! I always want to get a pic of Marin sleeping, but I'm afraid I'll wake her up.

walking - Marin took her first steps yesterday. I'm so excited! I was worried she wasn't going to walk. Hopefully she'll get it down soon.

Marin's ped thinks everything is fine, but to make sure there is nothing wrong, I had to take her to the hospital Friday for some tests. They gave her a catheter for a urine sample and then took blood. I thought for sure they'd give her something to calm her, but the nurses just jammed the catheter up there. I felt so bad for her, but thankfully it was over quick. We're supposed to get the results this week. She's eating a bit better, but still eating like a bird.

Life in twinville is nuts but in a good way!
Paige and Cole are fabulous and thanks in part to our awesome newish nanny (2 months now). They are doing so well. She does some amazing activities with them and keeps their days focused on learning and playing. They are now talking more. Cole says "Bubbles" in addition to Dada and Mamma and Bob (bottle) which we said Bye bye to. No more bottles in our house. He also waves, claps, and blows kisses. he is fascinated by making little sounds with his mouth like clicking his tongue, vibrating his lips etc.

Paige says "look" and points "me" (which also means mine!) and says Mama and Dada. She claps, does 'I don't know' and just this week started spinning which she thinks is hilarious. She turns around and around and around. Over and over. She also walks backwards.

I'm still working FT but am home 2 days a week. I'm currently evaluating other options but at least with our new nanny I feel better about working.

here are some recent pics we had done for their first birthday

jrsygirl - I can see, just from those couple of photos you posted, how easy it would be to spend a fortune on prints. :) I did the same back when Joey was 6 months old and I used a nice photography studio in Chicago. Never did tell my husband the grand total on that one. :p

my photographer posted 2 photos on her blog before she left town...

Jane That last pic is hysterical! Brian took Cole and Brody to our friends for a pool party and they all went in the pool together. We bought a step 2 pool off Craigslist (they don't make it anymore) that fits all three of our kids ;)
I think they're called "Big SplashCenter"

Katie is walking! it is the cutest thing. I got her stride rite shoes. she can walk across a whole room now. she still crawls a lot but she can pull up to standing on her own without holding on and just takes off. I have had her in so many dresses lately. so much fun having a girl :)

I'm still a Gymboree employee for now - they were willing to drastically reduce my schedule. So next week I'm working 1 shift (4hrs). So I'll be doing 1 weeknight and 1 shift every other weekend.

Happy Birthday Jane! 30 isn't so bad. :) I turn 35 this year, but when anybody asks, I always tell them 29! I'm glad you got your hours reduced. At least you can still enjoy the discount.

Sal - Congrats on Katie walking! I'm loving the dresses, too, but Marin still crawls a lot, so I'm trying to go with capris to save her knees. I did take the kids to the pool, and we went with one of my mom friends. There is no way I could do it by myself. I wish I could have taken pics, but Marin was afraid of the water (maybe it was too cold?), so I ended up holding her the entire time.

Where is everyone?

The weather here has been cooler, so we've been outside a lot. I just need to get Marin to walk so she's not crawling on the ground outside. Her poor knees are taking a beating.

I got an IUD this mroning and it wasn't as bad as I thought. It was only uncomfortable for a minute and I haven't had any cramping since. I'm going to love not having to think about birth control every day.

DH and I are having a CHiPs DVD party on Saturday night. The kids are going to spend the night at my parents. It will be so much fun to have some adults over and then get to sleep in the next day.

I haven't been online as much lately. I'm hosting playgroup tomorrow so I'm trying to get ready for that.

Poor Joey has a monster diaper rash. I think he's teething and the excess drool is causing some nasty diapers.

Joey has mastered the stairs. He's quite the speedy little boy on them. He can come down too although he hasn't quite mastered that part.

The dog has an ear infection so we're heading to the vet in a few minutes. The appt will delay his nap but it was the only one I could get.

We're TTC #2 now and AF has kindly decided to disappear but unfortunately a BFP has not taken her place. I don't know what the heck is going on.

Jane poor butter. the swingset looks great though. Good luck ttc#2 and enjoy the nights away with DH. I really need to plan something like that soon

Jane - The swingset looks great! Is that your backyard in the frst pic? It is HUGE!

Jennifer - Nothing like a whole night away from the kids! DH and I have no relatives close, so we'll have to settle for a few hours once in a while with the neighbor. Lucky you :)

Sal - Wow Katie has progressed fast! Ben was the same way, once he started he just took off. It's like they always knew how to walk and were just waiting to get going.

Ben and I are getting ready for DH to come home. He's been gone for 3 weeks. We only have a little bit before DH deploys so we're trying to have lots of fun and make the most of it. As of now we're planning on TTC #2 in Mar-Apr-May of 08 depending on when DH returns. It will be nice to only have to worry about 1 baby when I am alone for all those months. Ben new thing is being in love with shoes. He gets so excited whe he puts them on. When I ask him where his shoes are he will point to them, so cute!

Mel - yep, that's my yard in both pictures. I think the camera angle is a bit deceiving. It's a big yard but not as big as it looks in the picture. It's just over 1/4 acre, pretty typical for the suburbs around here. I think my house just doesn't take up much space. :p I'm sorry your DH is deploying soon. I have 2 BIL's in the army and it's hard when they deploy, I can't imagine what it would be like to go through that with my DH.

Mel I'm sorry to hear your DH is deploying. you sound so brave! He's going to miss you guys so much I am sure. I hope you enjoy every minute of your time together before he leaves!!

Katie is already napping at 8:50am. So much for me transitioning her to one nap at a year. She does not take the morning nap every day but does still need it most of the time. I think Dylan gave it up closer to 15-16 months so I guess that is what she will do. I officially weaned 3 days ago. Dylan I more actively weaned. Katie really was not looking for it anymore and even when I sit with her in the glider was never rooting around anymore. And she drinks milk great now from her straw cups. If I really think about it I get sad because she will most likely be our last baby so I am not thinking about it too much!

So I wonder if my son is the first of the April babies to get stitches? :o

Last week T fell on the driveway at my parents' house while I was packing the car. I think he was running after me (I had turned my head for a second) and he had his paci in his mouth (which I think made things worse). Either the paci or his teeth cut a horrible gash on the inside of his upper lip. He got five stitches. He's been a trooper though.

He drooled a lot for the first few days, and his upper lip was a bit swollen, but he still managed to smile and be basically happy:
PHOTO REMOVED

The worst part had been that he couldn't use his paci without feeling pain, so the past few nights at bedtime have been tough. But today at naptime he was able to enjoy the paci again. Hallelujah!

Here's another picture from nearly a month ago, but I liked it:
PICTURE REMOVED

I need to catch up in here. I've been terribly absent. I'm glad to hear you guys are doing well. Good luck Jane and anyone else TTC. I'm still not there yet, but it is at least on my radar again. We'll see.

Kopper, that picture is cute and hilarious!

T has been napping once a day for several months now. I had to get used to it at first, but now I like it. He sleeps from 1:30-2:00 to 4:30-5:00 most days. It's nice. And now that it's so HOT around here, it's nice to be inside during the afternoons.

I'm off to try to catch up with the thread! Luckily there aren't too many pages!

Oops, I just realized I never shared T's one year stats from his WBV:

Weight: 24 lbs, 3 oz.
Height: 31 inches

Though I think he's grown a ton since then! Now he can reach the doorknobs and can sometimes get his bedroom door open. Not good!

Jane - The swingset looks great! I hope Butters is feeling better.

mel - Enjoy the time with your DH. Will you have any family come stay with you while your DH is gone?

Sal - I think we're done with two as well. DH keeps asking about #3, but I don't know if I can do it again.

sully - Poor guy! He looks great in that pic with the fat lip!

naps - We are still doing two a day. Marin is ready for a nap around 9 and sleeps for about 2 hours and then goes back down around 1 for another 2 hours. I have no idea when we'll switch to one, but I like the morning time with just Caden.

We had a great child-free night. I missed the kids, but it was nice to sleep in and not be up at 7am. Right now my only single stroller is a Combi and there is no snack tray and the basket is too small, so I got a new stroller. It's a Peg Aria and I love it. It's only 9lbs and folds so easy. Hopefully this will be the last stroller I ever buy.

omg, hi everyone -- just occurred to me that I don't think I ever came around to check in after the birth! It's only been 3 weeks, right?:p I saw that Jane dropped the news in -- thanks Jane! His name is William Fisher; he was 8 lbs 4 oz and 21.5 inches, born at 12:11am on 5/23 after being induced. 9 hours of labor (6 on pitocin -- horrible, hideous stuff.) And not an epidural in sight, but I was very lucky to have a Scottish midwife as my labor nurse which helped a lot.

Anyway, we have our little boy now. Fisher is doing well, nursing pretty well, sleeping ok, and generally fitting into our life. He's been to 2 swim meets already LOL Whitney is doing ok with him, much better than I expected -- I know they're a little too young to really have the jealousy issues of a 2 year age gap, but I still assumed we'd have a lot more trauma just from Mom being so otherwise occupied. It helps that she finally got settled on a 3 hour nap once a day, so I have a nice long stretch to get things done and be with #1 and can focus a little more on Whit when she's awake. Caroline, the oldest, is also really good at helping me fetch things around the house, hold the baby (with both Whitney and now Fisher, she's the burp queen - she can get these kids to burp like noone else. I have yet to figure out her secret!). She even gets Whitney out of her crib and plays with her in the morning while I nurse Fish, and out of her highchair after lunch while I -- go figure -- nurse Fish. Talk about a lifesaver! I think I've only had to get her out one time while I was walking around nursing the baby LOL Also helpful: Whitney finally learned to walk a few days before he was born, and has gotten quite proficient (although naturally wants to be held and carried a lot still).

I have really not kept up here, so I hope everyone's doing well -- having fun with babies and not going through eyeteeth trauma like we do. Two are through, one more is almost there... there is a light at the end of this teething tunnel!

Anyway, hi and I will try to keep up better!

We haven't had much going on around here. DH is out of town this week but will be back tomorrow night. Then he will be home for 3 weeks this time!! Jacob and I have been playing the "Where's <insert person, object, pet>" game and this afternoon when I asked him where Jacob was he pointed to himself. I was so excited and he got really excited. He has been doing it about 1/2 the time ever since. So that leads to my question:

What words does your DC say?
Jacob says mama, dada and baby and has added a new word - bay-ee for our cat Bailey. Sometimes he just calls her Bay as well.

Greetings! Finn runs all the time now too, his favorite game is to run towards me like he's going to hug me, get within arm's reach, then turn real fast and run away giggling. He thinks this is hilarious! He also runs when I tell him it's bedtime :p

words: most are in his little baby voice, so i have translated in ( ) ;)

da (dad), ma (mom), mi (milk), ah dan (all done), ay (eye), ns (nose), bat (bath), dah (dog), teeth, some (for when he wants whatever i've got. lol) , fa (fan), is iss (for what is this? when he points at stuff), but (button...the child is obsessed with buttons), stinky (when i sniff his feet :p ) ETA...he also says "go!" he loves to go for car rides :)

Txfish - good to hear from you! Love the name Fisher. And so nice that you have Caroline's help. Take care!

I am beat! I took H with me to Orlando for a conference Wed - Sunday. My mom stayed at the hotel with us and took care of H while I was in meetings. He loved seeing all the people and saying "hi" and "bye" to everyone. I got sick over the weekend - my poor mom thought I was going into early labor - I think it was a combo of food poisoning/exhaustion. Anyway, much better now and glad to be home.

Words - mama, dada, bawk (trying to say "quack"), shoe, ball, cracker, moo, hair, hi, bye, spider (when we sing "itsy bitsy spider"), belly button, nose, oh no!, that's all I can think of now...oh and lots of gobbledy gook that's indecipherable but sounds like he's trying to have a big old conversation.

other cute things - when we say dance, he bounces up and down and acts like he's snapping his fingers; signs "more" for when he wants something, i.e., more milk, more book, more mama :p; does the hand motions for "itsy bitsy spider"; when asked, shows us where his eyes, teeth, mouth, nose, ear, hair, hands, foot, belly button are; does the hand motions for patty cake. He's really so much fun now. Don't know how I'm going to adjust to having another newborn who doesn't do much ;)

Hi all! I'm just checking in from NC. Joey is napping and my neices and nephews are playing outside - so I'm enjoying a moment of peace at the computer.

We had a nice weekend away. I missed Joey terribly but the time away was definitely good for us.

My MIL is having her leg amputated today. It's been a long battle to save it (circulation issues) and we lost. But she's so worn out from repeated surgeries that this does seem to be what we need to do, it's still hard though.

Joey is finally getting two more bottom teeth - he has 5 on top (possibly 6, it's hard to get a look at the top) but only the middle 2 on the bottom til now.

words: hi, yea yea, ma, da, dog

SaphirimalMei - Wow Finn has a ton of words! Jacob plays that game as well especially when he has something he's not supposed to have.

mel - Love the pic in your avatar of Ben in his Croccs. I think I am going to order some this week. I can only find navy around here so I think I will get them online. Did you buy 6/7s? Jacob has two pairs of Stride rites and they are 6 and 6.5 and his toes are already getting closer to the end. I'm wondering if I should order 6/7s or if they wouldn't fit him for very long.

LittleStar - Sorry you were sick on your trip. That's no fun! H has a lot of words too!

Jane - So sorry to hear about you MIL. I hope she is recovering well.

---
Jacob learning more and more words. He's added Sal - for Sally or dog, Pee - for Pipi our other cat, Boon for balloon - we get one every time we go to the grocery store, and :o Poop said with a drawn out poo. Also he has started mimicking my mouth movements when I talk to him. It's sorta like he is learning how to form words. Mostly he does this when I am talking to him while changing his diaper. Does anyone else's DC mimick mouth movements?

He also gave us real kisses for the first time today. For some reason he doesn't like it when DH and I hug or cuddle. When he gets upset we pick him up and have kind of a family cuddle/hug. Well today he leaned over and gave DH a kiss and then gave me two kisses. My heart just melted and I had a few tears. It was just so sweet. He interchanges kiss and hug so if I ask for either he hugs me. He has been a little delayed in some of his social milestones but I think he is picking them up now. It took forever for him to clap and he waved for the first time last week but hasn't since. That's why I was so excited when he kissed us today plus it was just so sweet.

Oh, he loves to brush his teeth and brush his hair. Anytime I do either he must have his toothbrush or my hairbrush to do the same thing. He even tries to brush his hair with the lint roller.

Kopper - Man, those Crocs are popular! My niece had a pair with all of the charms. I'd love to get Marin a pair, but I haven't seen any small enough (size 3), so we may have to wait until next year. That's so sweet about the kiss!

Jane - Sorry to hear about your MIL. I hope everything went well and she is recovering. Glad you enjoyed your time away. Are you still working at Gymboree?

teethbrushing - I got Marin a toothbrush and toothpaste, but we don't do it every day. She does love it, but she tends to bit down on the toothbrush instead of letting me clean her teeth.

words - juice, cheese, uh-oh, and da (for daddy). Not as many as I'd like, but she's working on it.

Kopper - Ben's crocs are actually a size 4/5 (infant). He has very little room left in them and all his size 5 shoes just fit. I think you'd be fine with a 6/7, they look a bit bigger imo. Also, if you order from zappos, you get free return shipping if they don't fit.

teethbrushing - I have been so bad about this lately, so I decided to start doing it every day before nap time. That way I'll remember and get it done at least 5-6x a week!

Ben has two more teeth that have just broken through on top. This makes 14 teeth total  He also learned to sigh "shoes" a few days ago and now that's all he wants to talk about! Here are a few recent pics!

just got back home today (spent a weekend away with DH while Joey was with my Mom and then Joey and I stayed with my Mom and family for a week).

Joey was really, really tired when DH picked us up at the airport today so he barely managed a smile for him but after a nap in the car he greeted the dog and cats with great delight. And called one of the cats "dog." And he has apparently added "Wait" to his vocabulary list. I let him run around the airport a little bit to burn off energy and then when I strapped him back in the stroller he sqwauked "wait" over and over. :p

great pictures Mel!

Jennifer - yep, still working at Gymboree, although not many hours anymore but I think they're going to add on another shift each week soon (I've only been working one a week). I just couldn't keep up with the 20 or so hours a week they had me working before.

Joey had his 15m WBV today

20lb 5oz (6%, up from 5%)
30.5in (30%, down from 40%)
head is 46.25cm (30%, up from 25%)

his motor skills are right on target, he's picking up new words. The only bad part about the appt (besides the shots) was finding out that my ped is leaving the practice. We'll see her in Sept for his 18m WBV and then that's it. :( We'll switch over to another dr in the practice I guess.

Whitney is still WAY behind the curve on talking -- she really doesn't say anything at all. I get an occasional Mama now, but that's it - she has even given up the Dada. I do catch repeated sounds that I think are her trying to say Caroline and maybe even Fisher already, but other than that it's all gibberish-with-much-intent. She obviously understands us very well, and does a lot of those social things -- shakes her head no (when she's doing something she's not supposed to do; very hard not to laugh at this one), smiles, claps, runs to hug us (did this back and forth from me to daddy tonight for about 10 minutes before bed LOL), gives big old open mouth kisses, waves bye bye. Just doesn't feel like talking, I guess.

She has definitely begun her temper tantrum training regimen! My sweet girl sure is developing her screech these days. I could do with a little less of that... and her new habit of chasing me up the stairs to demonstrate said screech while I try to get Fisher down for a nap. Not that THAT isn't challenging in the best of times! (Yes, this 2 tiny kids thing is getting a little harder every day. So don't expect to see me much, as I SO rarely get computer time. It'll be all I can do to get birthday invites sent out for Caro's party in the next week, and Fisher's birth announcements might get done by the time school starts!)

Jane -- so sorry to hear about your MIL; my grandma has had those circulation problems for years and it's something I've always been worried about. I hope the recovery goes well for her, physically and emotionally. Cute pics of Joey!

Mel, cute pics of Ben. There is nothing quite so cute as teeny tiny Crocs ;)

On the topic of tiny Crocs: my dh says that Babies R Us has a knockoff brand that they had in smaller sizes. I believe that the 4/5 is the smallest size Crocs makes, but the BRU brand makes them smaller. I'm not sure about the Airwalks at Payless, but I've heard from several moms who like that brand just as well as real Crocs.

Littlestar, thanks! We love the name too. Hope you keep getting some rest, it's your last chance :) Your little guy DOES have a lot of words -- he sounds like a smartie, too! I'm lazy (or busy LOL) and haven't managed to teach Whit too many of her body parts yet. One of those things that I simply forget to do...

Kopper, aren't those baby kisses the best??

Oh -- Whit is a hairbrusher too! And she does love to brush her teeth -- I still just have the little finger sleeve, and she does do a bunch of biting on it, but she opens up and lets me scrub too. If only she'd let me fix her hair -- she determinedly rips out any bow or rubber band that I get on that head within 5 minutes. But I think she's going to be my neat and tidy girl all around -- in addition to the personal hygiene interests, she also likes to help sort laundry, wipes up her own spilled milk, and insists on helping me sweep. When we bathe her in the sink, she takes the sprayer and sprays any dishes that are in the other side LOL She is such a "let me help you with that, Mom" kind of kid... hoping it stays that way.

She also seems very interested in bathroom issues already -- she not only wants to be in there with me all the time (not unusual, I know), but she wants to unroll and hand me the TP, closes the door for us after we go in, etc. And she will bring me her new diaper so I can change her, when I ask. She's gone as far as going to stand in the "diaper change area" on her own, but never brought me a diaper without asking. Still, it's a positive step toward awareness!

Sorry if I've missed you -- trying to check in quickly before my laptop battery dies. Talk to you later!

wow Txfish - you really have your hands full! Whitney sounds like a riot! :D:p

Joey finally waved for real today. He's always just stuck a hand straight out in an oddly Heil Hitlerish motion. :p  the real wave is pretty cute. Joey brushed my Mom's hair when he saw my 2 1/2yr old neice doing it. He wouldn't brush mine though, only Nana's.

Mel I love that first picture of Ben! And of course the crocs

txfish you are seriously my HERO. I can not even imagine how you are doing it. Katie really has no words either. She is doing all the social stuff you mentioned though and is starting to stack blocks and is RUNNING, not walking so I am not that concerned. at her 15 month visit her ped did say 4-6 words by now but whatever. didn't you think the 2nd kid would talk sooner? I did

I am so behind! We had Dylan's 3rd bday party this weekend at a gym which was lots of fun. Katie is trying to jump already. she is SO active and climbs on everything and runs everywhere and has NO fear and is basically turning my hair gray. she is the sweetest though and when she runs into my arms for a hug I just melt. I think she was 22.2 pounds, I forget her length! she is 50th percentile in weight. We got an 8' trampoline for the backyard and the kids LOVE IT. She still only has 8 teeth, she has been drooling more than usual though so maybe more are on the way.
here she is from today - her first pigtails! LOL

Cute pictures everyone! Sal - I love that one of Katie mid-stride with the little grin :p

H and I went shopping this morning while DH did the prep for painting H's big boy room (which he's doing right now). H is sleeping now and it's so nice and quiet in here ;)

Wow - 14 teeth Mel! H hasn't had a new one in about 4 or 5 month (I think). We've been stuck with 6 forever!

Jane - Love the pic on the train table!

Txfish - I don't know how you do it! Sounds like Whitney is a busy girl!

Sal - I'm so jealous of the pigtails! Marin still has no hair. Katie looks so angelic in those pics. How can you ever say no to her???

teeth - Marin is also stuck at 6. I don't see anymore coming in, but it's not like she lets me take a good look.

Today was the day Marin decided to walk. We went over to my parents and she walked practically the entire day. I'm so happy! I've been keeping her in capris to save her knees and now we can move to shorts!

wow, toddler beds and big kid rooms! say it isn't so! :p I'm not ready for my baby to grow up!

I don't know how many teeth Joey has - he won't let me look. :p He has the front four top teeth plus 2 or 3 more top teeth. He has 2 bottom teeth and finally 2 more bottom teeth coming in. For someone who remained toothless til 10 1/2 months I think he's doing pretty well in that department. :p

Joey is finally imitating me when I give him kisses - he says "mwah" in response to me. Now that he's finally waving I'm hoping that blowing kisses will soon follow. I love how independent he is but I crave more cuddles. I left him at the gym daycare a few days ago for the first time in awhile and instead of playing he sat on one of the ladies' laps the whole time. He certainly won't sit in my lap for more than 30 seconds so I was jealous!!!

Jennifer - yay for Marin walking!! Joey has a lot more hair than he used to but he's still pretty darned bald.

Txfish – a long overdue congrats to you and your new little guy Fisher !

Words – Brycen is my silent guy, he seems to say less now than before. Devon can say just about anything, it seems everyday she has a new word. Friday it was bubbles, Saturday was banana – just the “nana” part, and yesterday was purple. We were looking out the back door at the purple flowers – she crinkled her nose as if sniffing the flowers and repeated purple after I said “pretty purple flowers”. Brycen is only signing “more” right now while Devon has surpised me with her signs. Our DVD broke about 2 months ago so we’ve been unable to watch “signing times” yet she surprised me with “thirsty” when she wanted her water. She’s also been doing “sorry” quite a bit lately after she’s bitten her brother.

Teeth – both just have 8, 4 on top, 4 on bottom, however it looks like they’re each getting a few more on top.

Running – Devon does the cutest little quick step and Brycen’s only walking for now.

Kisses – I cannot get enough, Devon has sweet light ones and Brycen’s are sloppy open mouthed.

Swimming – we’ve only gone to the pool once and Brycen took to it like a pro, Devon couldn’t climb out of it fast enough. We’ll try again on the 4th. We’ve yet to go to the beach, but hopefully they’ll both love that. They do enjoy walking along the beach.

15 month Dr. visit: Brycen is 31 ½ inches tall and weighs 24 ½ lbs. and Devon is 32 inches and 23 ½ lbs.

The doctor asked if they know how to use a crayon and paper- I didn’t even know we should have even tried, so the answer is NO. Has anyone else tried that yet?

Brycen has been diagnosed with asthma. 2 weeks ago he had a bit of a runny nose and woke up that night with the really quick breathing. We gave him a breathing treatment but it did not help him at all. He was in the hospital for 3 days. He now has an inhaler and uses it 2x / day until August. He seems fine now but I’m not thrilled about doing this, I’m not sure if we should go to a specialist or not. I don’t know a thing about asthma.

Here he is waiting to go home:

mel - Cute pics! Ben looks like such a happy boy. :) Thanks for the info on crocs and Zappos. I'm going to order some this week. I think the 6/7s should fit him for a few months. Hopefully...

Jane - Great pics! Love the one of him on the train table. That would be something Jacob would do. Sorry your ped is leaving the practice. I hope you find another one you like. Too cute he says 'mwah'. When did he start waving? Jacob isn't waving yet. I asked his ped about it today and she didn't seem too concerned.

Txfish - Yep, kisses are the best. He hasn't given very many since but I love them all. Wow, you might have a potty trainer on your hands soon! Jacob will throw his diaper away when I give it to him (pee ones only) after I change him but he doesn't let me know when he needs to be changed.

Sal - Sorry about Katie's ear infection. Happy Birthday Dylan!! Katie is so cute and grown up looking. I love her pigtails. Jacob has enough hair to do one and I keep threating DH to put his hair up but I would never do it. Maybe #2 will be a girl. :p

Jennifer - Yay for walking!! Size 3 shoes, wow she has tiny feet. :)

relly - Your kiddos are cute! Sorry about Brycen's asthma and hospital trip. That has to be so scary. Does he have red hair? It looks like it. I LOVE redheaded babies. I'm a redhead and had hoped Jacob would have red hair but his is blonde. We were asked the crayon and coloring question today. The only reason I knew he could tap and sort of color is that we went to Red Robin last night and he played with the crayons. Otherwise, I wouldn't have know b/c we don't even have any.

teeth - Still 8 here. 4 on top and 4 on bottom. He hasn't had any new ones since 11 months.

Jacob just woke up so I will have to finish later.

relly - Brycen looks like a trooper for having to be in the hospital. Glad he's doing better. And Devon is a doll. Love her polka dot hat!

Jane - How much did Joey get in his mouth? He looks like he's having a good time. I haven't offered Marin a spoon yet because I clean up enough food off the floor. I'm not up to cleaning up the high chair.

crayons - No way for us just yet. Marin still puts everything in her mouth, so Caden has to color when she is napping or at the kitchen table where she can't reach them.

Jane&Andy
07-02-2007, 06:57 PM
Jennifer - he actually did fairly well with the spoon. He didn't finish the pudding b/c he was starting to play a little too much. That picture was taken right before I took the pudding away. He got a glob on his shorts but the rest stayed on the highchair tray and his hands. And lucky for me my dog provides a full service cleaning of the high chair, including all crevices. :p

crayons - not yet. DH took him to visit his sister and her kids (22 months and 6 1/2 months) Saturday evening. While his sister puts the little one to bed the older one sits and colors. Apparently Joey had fun running around with crayons in his hand and then tried kept stealing her paper. He's not ready yet!

I'm trying to find bedding to go with it and we still have to buy two twin mattresses.

Oh, Jacob had his 15 month visit today. Everything is good. He has a contact rash on his groin and upper bottom so we have to put Rx cream on it. She said it's really not as bad as it looks and is already healing pretty good on his bottom.

Here are his stats:
Weight - 15 months: 27.2lbs
Height - 15 months: 33in

So he is 85% for weight, 94% for height and 75% for his head. I asked her if she thought this meant he would be tall and she said she thinks he will be. DH and I are hoping he will be b/c we are both short! My dad is tall though and all but one of my uncles is over 6'.

Kopper
07-02-2007, 07:28 PM
Jane - Thanks! It's very similar to the PBK's boat bed but was 1/3 of the cost. The front opens up for toy storage and you can make the bottom a trundle or storage. We are going to do a trundle. I really like the PBK bedding but am leaning more towards doing a pirate theme. We did PBK for his nursery and I love the quality. Target had some cute pirate bedding on clearance but they only had Full and Queen.

ETA - They have it on their website! I may just have to order it since it's only $20 for the twin.
ETA again - They only let me add 1 to my cart and then when I tried to pay they said it was sold out. :(

Kopper i am kicking myself every day that we didnt buty the bed from costco!!! I am hoping they have it again soon.. I think ours had it befor eChristmas last year which will be just about when the house construction will be done anyway..If the dont I'm going to be *mad* at myself..I already bought an american flag esque quilt for him and the grommet shades from PBK ..I have an antique oar too...I NEED that bed :)

spoon Cole and Paige started using a spoon about two weeks ago and I was super impressed at how quickly they picked it up and got teh hang of it. Of course like Jane we have a built in cleaning service in Brody to get all the spills :) Cole actually has started using a spork and was happily stabbing at strawberries tonight and feeding them. paige is all about efficiency and opten to use her fingers !!

Crayons The kids draw and color something every day thanks to our nanny who always has them doing something fun. Last week they fingerpainted with pudding one day...MESSY!!! . I bought them an easel at Ikea last week which they are loving. Our family is enjoying lots of handmade crads and artwork, and I haven't had to buy and birthday cards for the family in a while! We still have the errant crayon in the mouth but for the most part they actually use them for their intended purpose which in our house involves fighting over the green one because eveyone knows you need one for each hand.

relly cute!! I love that red hair he's so sweet! Poor baby though with the asthma..how scary for you all.

Kopper - I love PBK bedding - I'm probably going to get a quilt from them but buy the sheets someplace cheaper to save money. I don't have any idea what we'll do for furniture for him. I'd love to buy a twin bed with a trundle but he will likely end up with just a mattress on the frame and no headboard or anything. I don't even have a headboard for my own bed! :p

I love this cool bed (http://www.landsend.com/pp/LowPostSlatBed-76270_172196_-1.html?CM_MERCH=PAGE_76260)from Land's End but it's too much money. So a cheaper version of this would be great. :p

ETA: JC Penney has this set that I like. It's much cheaper although it's on sale now so will likely be unavailable by the time I'm ready to buy.

Jane - Weird, for some reason I can't see your picture. It's not even a box with an x, just a blank space. I just checked out PBK and they have pirate bedding too! How did I miss that? The sheets are sold out but I found some on eBay.

jrsygirl - I'm sorry you didn't get the boat bed. We bought it around Christmas if I remember right. My dad used to work at Costco until last year and he told me that if I really wanted it I should buy it then b/c when they sold out of them there was no guarantee that they would have them again. I would ask the person that does the orders and also contact the manufacturer to see if they know who is carrying it for them. Here is their website:
http://www.baysidefurnishings.com

DH and I debated for a day about getting it but I have wanted the PBK boat bed since before I was pg w/Jacob but I would have never bought it since it was so expensive.

Um yeah.... DH has a treo too. At least that one his company provided and pays for. He had to order it and it should be here by Saturday just in time for his trip next week.

Kopper - Cute bed and bedding! Caden's room is pirate themed. We got his bedding at Olive Kids, but it looks really similar to what you posted. When are you putting Jacob in a big boy bed? Congrats to your DH. I won't give in on the iPhone just yet. ;)

crayons - For those that are using crayons, Toys R Us has most of their Crayola stuff buy one get one free. I bought a bunch of it today to put away for Christmas.

I am so lazy -- there will be no big girl bed in our house for a long time. My dd1 stayed in her crib until she was 3; we just took the front panel off and made it a baby daybed. Our new second crib does the same thing, with a toddler rail side. I'm sure I'll leave both babies in the cribs for at least 2 years. Besides, I'll have to give them their own rooms then, because our nursery isn't big enough for 2 twins. All the bedding is too cute... I love the boat bed, too. Never knew Costco carried one also!

Does anyone have a climber yet? Luckily not here.

Whitney uses a spoon (and fork occasionally) with moderate success. I think she did that the first time when she was 9 or 10 months, maybe. She will feed herself mashed potatoes, oatmeal, shells & cheese... anything thick enough to not make me crazy, mess-wise. I'm still looking for the ultimate suction bowl though.

Crayons -- yeah, they just go in her mouth. But that is the trend, because she just likes to eat. A lot. I'm a little afraid of what the scale will show tomorrow at her 15 month appt. LOL

Jennifer - I don't plan on putting Jacob in hi big boy bed until 2 but I want to start working on his room. He will be moving to the room next to him and we will keep his room the nursery. I have a lot to do in there and it will take awhile to get done so I am planning on starting in the next month or two. We are going to paint the walls and ceiling, replace and paint new baseboards, replace and paint the closet doors and the regular door.

Txfish - Wow Whitney is good with the spoon! I have a pretty big eater too but he has passed the "everything goes in the mouth" stage. Fingers crossed! I haven't seen him put anything non food related in his mouth for weeks.

Climbing - Jacob is a BIG time climber. He tries to climb anything and everything. The other day my sister was over and we were in the living room. Jacob went to his room (just down the hall) and I heard him opening and closing his dresser drawers. He was quiet for a minute so I went in there and he was on top of his dresser/changing table! He had climbed into the glider, climbed on the arm and then onto the dresser/changing table and was sitting on the pad. And I thought that room was safe b/c it's completely baby proofed. :o We've also caught him moving chairs close to the counters and trying to climb on them and he has been on the dining room table more than once.

big boy room - Joey won't be moving out of the crib for awhile. But like Kopper I need to set up a new room for him (reusing the nursery for #2). When it happens depends on when #2 comes along and how Joey is doing in the crib. I have a neice who is 2 1/2 and still in the crib (although she's being booted out soon to make way for her baby sister). Another started climbing out at 2 and yet another started climbing out at 8 months (or so they say!).

climbing - not really. He liked climbing on the train table at my Mom's house but doesn't really try to climb on high stuff.

Yup, he’s a red head, Devon’s got just a touch of red. My husband has auburn hair. My brother and sister are redheads but none of their 5 kids ended up redheads, my Mom was so disappointed. She’s happy now. I’m amazed at how many people comment on it.

Devon said “tickle, tickle, tickle” last night after I said it as I was tickling her feet, she’s like a little parrot. She also said “shh” with her finger over her mouth because Brycen was sleeping. This morning Brycen said “night, night” then plopped down on our bed and giggled hysterically since it obviously wasn’t bed time.

Spoons – Devon’s doing okay, Brycen likes to use it to hit the plate or bowl he’s upended.

Kopper – love that bed.

Jrsygirl – hope you’re able to locate that bed. Your nanny sounds terrific.

Jane – we’re in the same boat as you, probably just a hand-me down bed with a new mattress for my kids. Right now they’re both in hand-me down cribs with new mattresses.

4th of July – we’re going to my sister’s for a bar-b-que and swimming, a 1 hour drive.

Have a Happy 4th – be Safe.

relly - I wish I had more handmedowns to use! Joey will need a new dresser for his big boy room regardless of what I do for his bed. I'm still using mine from my childhood room so I can't pass it on to him!

I'm leaning towards a toddler bed now. If I ca
