DH and I recently netflix'd all of Entourage (love it!) and are looking for other series to try. What tv shows have you caught up on/watched past seasons of via DVD?

We did the first 2 seasons of Lost, and we're hoping to do Heroes this summer. We tried 24 but it wasn't our thing so we didn't even make it through the first season.

ETA: We did House up to this season, also - I forgot!

Battlestar Galactica - OMG, AMAZING show. This is NOT your stereotypical SciFi stuff. Trust me, you won't want to stop watching.

24...

We started watching it in the 3rd season, so we caught up the first 2 on DVD

Arrested Development. Alias. 1 season of House.

Lost
Desperate Housewives

I never saw all of season one of Grey's so that's on the Blockbuster list. I think I might add House.

We own seasons 1-3 of Nip/Tuck but haven't really watched them.

Lost - I finished the night before the current season started :D

I also watched 24, Desperate Housewives, and Grey's Anatomy (all season 1) on DVD but have not continued to watch, I may do DVDs in the future.

I'm not all caught up, but I just got a Netflix subscription and watched the beginning of Boston Legal (I've seen more recent episodes, but not the beginning) and Grey's Anatomy (never saw it at all). "Disc 2" of each series is on the way :).

Oh, and I saw the first season of the British version of "Coupling." It was cute (fluffy, but better than yet another Friends rerun). I have season 2 on the list, but it's sort of far down.

Six Feet Under

Lost, the Family Guy, past seasons of Project Runway

And if you want an oldie but a goodie, I highly recommend NewsRadio

We are watching all the seasons of 24 - we're up to Season 3 now.

I also want to watch Battlestar Galactica.

Lucky girl!! I got so spoiled watching 4-5 epi a night, that when we finished the second season and had to wait 4-5 months for the next season I just about died!

Hmmm we have mostly watched shows that have already gone away...

- Wonderfalls
- Freaks and Geeks
- Dead Like Me
- 6 Feet Under
- Veronica Mars (1st season) watched the others on tv
- The Prisoner (from the 60's)

I *love* watching TV shows on DVD... I think its such a different experience being able to watch one episode right after another.... my other favorite way to catch up on shows is by DVRing them when they are syndicated... but i guess that's another thread... :)

6 Feet Under--now one of my favorite shows EVER!

Dittos this. I started watching it a few seasons in and just caught the first couple of seasons on Bravo. Off topic, but I have to say the Series Finale was the best series finale of any show I've ever seen.

Also caught up on Sopranos, Weeds, & Sex & the City. Have to add The Office & Entourage to my "to do" list.

Sex in The City

My DH recently rented Dead Like Me. I saw one or two episodes and lost interest...

Six Feet Under & Weeds. Highly recommend both.

ETA: Big Love would be an excellent one to watch if you haven't seen the first season. The second season is getting ready to air exactly one month from today!

We did seasons 1 & 2 of Lost on DVD. It was so hard to watch it w/ commercials. :)

Veronica Mars (missed the first 6 episodes so it was great to catch up)
The West Wing
Sex and the City (first four seasons)

When it comes out, probably Ugly Betty. I just didn't have enough DVRs to record it.

- Sex and the City (actually I watched the entire series on DVD - it was already off the air by the time I started watching the first season on DVD... :p )
- 24 (DH and I *loved* our 24 marathon last summer!)
- Prision Break
- The Unit

This summer I plan to rent Grey's Anatomy on DVD and catch up to the current season.

Lost season one and Dynasty season one (season two comes out in a few months!).

I also caught up on Heroes through iTunes, and would recommend that for DVD when the first season is released.

Another suggestion: Friday Night Lights, when it comes out on DVD this summer. It just got renewed and would be a great show to watch on a compressed schedule.

I saw an episode of Everwood on WB and thought it was cute, so added it to our list. The first disc came and both DH and I got sucked into it. And then - the show got cancelled and they haven't added more of the seasons to DVD! Ack!

We caught GA during season 2. So, we caught up on Season 1 when it came out. We still love GA.
