My husband and I are going to Minneapolis in August for a wedding and we're interested in staying in a cute boutique-like hotel. Does anyone recommend such a place? I'm not sure exactly where the wedding is taking place, I know it's in Minneapolis at some country club. As a child I actually lived in a suburb outside the city, but it was such a long time ago I have no idea what the city is really like. Any advice on good restaurants would be great too. We'll probably be there for three days. TIA!

My in-laws live in MN and my MIL will have some recommendations, especially for restaurants. In fact, we are leaving for MN today!

I did a quick look for smaller hotels downtown and got the Chambers hotel. Hip, and apparently a great restaurant. I'll ask MIL and get back to you.

I live in a 'burb on Mpls and don't often have the need to stay in a hotel so I can't help you there ;), but what kind of food are you hoping for? There are a couple of LJ communities dedicated to the Twin Cities, too. I did a quick restaurant search in the one and came across these (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=twin_cities&keyword=Restaurants&filter=all) posts. Sort of random but they could be helpful.

In St. Paul, MN near my neighborhood there is a B&B on a boat that looks neat!

This is where I stayed on my wedding night, though it might be a bit of a drive to the Twin Cities...
