I just got the results back and my sed rate is 42 (normal is less than 20).
My white count was normal, so she doens't think I have an active infection, but she is concerned since it's high, and I've been having pain.
I've been having pain in my hip for a couple of months, my PCP thought is was bursitis and told me to talk an anti-inflammatory. It helps, but still having some pain. I figured it's becase i'm overweight and trying to exercise more to lose weight.
I've had more pain recently, I originally thought it was ovarian pain (I have a history of cysts) so I went to my GYN. She checked me out no signs of a cyst, but she did the labs that showed the high ESR, everying else normal.
I've put in a call to my PCP to see her. My GYN was talking about doing a ct of my pelvis to see what they can see.
I've looked on the internet, and I find info about rhuematois arthritis. HAs anyone had a high ESR or know someone that had a high ESR that turned out to be something other than RA? Can it be other forms of arthritis or something else alltogether?
Thanks,
Colleen
