I want, I need, I have to have.... a Lilly Pulitzer Dress (http://www.pinkwasabi.com/listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=5243). I've wanted one ever since I saw Lilly interviewed on the Today show about 4 years ago (when I weighed 110 lbs more than I do now), and I still want one.

For those that want the designer bag and do not want to pay a mortgage for a bag.. Get the replica... Here are some sites that you can get good ones:
www.auctions.overstock.com
www.ioffer.com
www.ebay.com
www.bagdesigns.net
www.bagdream.com
www.westsideboutique.com
Just to name a few.. I know of alot of sites to buy from. My girlfriends buy from most of these sites and they are all leather trimmed where applicable, have all the correct markings and such...
Georgiana, how does iBid work? They have some cute Coach-like wristlets and I'd love to pick one up. Also, any particular sellers you or your friends would recommend?

Do you mean ioffer?
What you do it sign up and when you see a bag you like you contact the seller and make an offer for the bag. If he accecpts you either accecpt the deal or decline. Then you work out your transaction. I bought my Gucci Horsebit Hobo from there and I made a deal of 190.00 where he wanted like 250 for it. The transaction went smooth and I love my bag. It's Lambskin and not chincy at all! I love that bag!
oops, yes I meant iOffer. I just might have to check my finances and see if I can swing a shiney, new, little wristlet :D Thanks for posting!

Since I'm not rich I'll settle for the swap meet versions of these... :DOoooh. Yeah I decided I must have a LV as well. Not sure which one yet. My big decision lies in what color as I already have the Gucci Jackie O bag in chocolate. But I just love the classic LV look and color as well. Although... I would hate to have to decide btwn the two bags if I'm needing a brown bag that morning ya'know? Such important decisions!
Anyway I am pretty sure I am going to ebay mine. I'll still be forking over a lot but I prefer having the real thing as opposed to a replica (although I suppose that's a little ironic about wanting to get it off ebay then  but I say a girl's gotta save where she can save!).
Do you know about mypoupette.com? Most of those sellers still sell the bags for A LOT, but at least you know you will be getting something authentic.

Just a PSA for those of you who like those multi-color Coach bags:
Saks is having a big sale this weekend, where everything that is marked down is selling for an additional 50% off. I got this purse, which retails for $378 for $140!

Do you know about mypoupette.com? Most of those sellers still sell the bags for A LOT, but at least you know you will be getting something authentic.
Yes I have heard of that!
I have been wanting to buy her book but I haven't. There is no way I will be able to buy a REAL one at the moment so I guess I 'll settle for a good fake one! :D

Over the years, I have discovered a few beauty products that have become such a staple, I wonder how I ever survived without them. I am quite sure the savvy CC ladies know many such products.
So, without further ado, my list:
1. Prevage. I have always had good skin, but let me tell you, my skin glows with this stuff. One little pump each night, so a bottle lasts about six months.
2. Cle de Peau Beaute concealer. Instant sleep. The best concealer I have ever used for my deep, dark, bluish undereye circles.
3. Laura Mercier Hydrating Foundation Primer. Wow! Foundation stays on all day long, and my skin looks better at the end of the day.
4. Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation (Porcelain Ivory). Highly pigmented, so half a pump is the perfect amount for work coverage. Perfect match for my skin. Silky finish.
5. Stila Convertible Color (Rosy). What a perfect color! Looks like I just pinched my cheeks! I dab it on with my fingertip, blend it in, and done! I also dab it onto my lips, over clear balm.

Urban decay eyeshadow primer. I always wear eyeshadow and with this stuff I don't get one single crease!

This one is totally cliche but MAC Spice lipliner--it rocks!
My others, which are all ones that are always on those lists:
~Nars blush in Orgasm--it's the perfect color
~Stila Smudgepots--I have a brown one and the olive-ish color, and I love them!
~Maybelline Great Lash--I think I've used this since like 6th grade!
~Lancome Juicy Tubes--love the gloss colors and they smell so great
~Burt's Bees lipbalms with color--what are they called again? They are great when my lips are chapped in the winter, but I still want some color
Urban Decay Primer Potion -- awesome eye shadow primer! I used to have major problems with creasing, but not any more!
Maybelline Unstoppable Mascara -- I used to get racoon eyes all the time, but not with this stuff. And it washes off easily!
Bare Minerals -- I use the foundation, mineral veil, and bisque concealer. Love it all!
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer -- Keeps my makeup looking good all day long.
Murad Clarifying Cleanser -- My skin went through a hellish phase when I reached 27. I found this stuff and have been using it ever since and hardly ever have a breakout anymore!

I'm going to get that Urban Decay Primer Potion. I have horrible creases every day, no matter what I do. In fact, since the only place to purchase it in Wisconsin seems to be in Milwaukee, I'm ordering some right now!

I just ordered the Urban Decay Primer Potion as well! I've used the MAC paint as an eyeshadow base, and I think it makes my eyelids look dry/crepey...so I'm hoping this UD stuff will be good!

ysolde, where's your YSL concealer stick in that list? :p
Mine are:
Lancome Hypnose mascara -- no scary spider eyes, no flaking
St. Ives Apricot Scrub -- I know fruit pit scrubs are harsh, but nothing else gets rid of the blackheads and bumps the way this does
Olay Regenerist Serum -- makes my skin's texture so much better

Ysolde -
I have the Cle de Peau concealer too - can you tell me how you apply it - do you mix it with some cream for a better application? Sometimes it just doesn't blend in well for me - maybe I don't have the right color.
Thanks,
Bastille

Bastille --
I spread a bit on the back of my clean hand first, then warm it there with my clean finger. Without warming, the consistency is not right. I then apply it, patting it on lightly with my ring finger. Then, I take a concealer brush and apply into corners and hard to reach areas, and blend it all into my foundation. It sounds compicated, but I can do it in about 20-30 seconds.

Wow Ysolde - I've been doing it all wrong. I almost laughed when I read how you do it because my "process" is NOTHING like that. I will try your approach tomorrow - by the way I am not even sure I have a concealer brush - is it synthetic? Also do you put your foundation on first? I always thought to start with concealer. Do you ever put Touche Eclat over?
I have Ivory and am Blonde/Blue eyes.

You don't need the concealer brush. Just tap it in with your finger for now. I use the Touche Eclat over sometimes, to brighten certain areas.

I love those of you who suggested the Urban Decay Primer Potion!!!
First of all, it arrived in the mail two days after I ordered it.
Second, I put it on that morning, ran errands all day (in 80-degree temps) and went out to the bar that night without retouching my eyeshadow first. When I came home, there were no creases and my eyes still looked good! It's a miracle.

I absolutely agree with what futuremrslp said about the UD Primer Potion...thanks to those who recommended it on this thread, I ordered it through Sephora.com and received it a little while ago. I have been using it everyday, and it is fabulous! No more creasing, and my eye make-up lasts all day - thanks again!! :)

roberta, you can definitely use it without foundation. I almost never wear foundation - but LOVE the Touch Eclat - in fact since I started using it I have pretty much given up foundation completely - I just use that to touch up a couple areas.

I am pretty cheap and simple! Pretty much most of my products can be purchased at the drugstore for a very low price. I don't wear a lot of make-up. I don't do much with my hair other than wash it and brush it. I don't need or use anti-aging products. I am allergic to many kinds of soaps and deoderants. Things like mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow irritate my eyes. I prefer lip gloss over lip stick because lip stick feels too "cakey" to me and sucks away all the moisture. I never use hair spray or gel or mouse because it feels too sticky and gross to me. I am sure there are many nicer and higher quality products out there, but I am too cheap and too broke to bother buying them.

You can spray hair spray on a brow brush and comb your eyebrows while the brush is still wet.

I've tried, but that doesn't really work for me. I'm thinking I might need something more along the waxy lines.

Besides waxing or tweezing your brows, trimming them will go a long way in keeping them in place. I rarely have to use any product because my brow girl does such a great job trimming them. I guess I have gorilla eyebrows. LOL :)

My brow girl has been on maternity leave, so I started waxing them myself (got professional wax from Aerial, a beauty supply store, because my mom has a state cosmetology license) ... and they still look just as good as when she does them. But, it's hard to trim them myself, so that's why I think they're a bit more unruly than normal! They haven't had a good trim in months.
I tried the hair spray idea, and it works decently.

I heard years ago about using just plain chapstick and a brow brush. I have been doing it for years and it works for me as far as keepin' em in place :)
I am looking for an eye make up remover that works REALLY well. I have used various ones. Such as Avon (which was the best but I will not use their products anymore); Maybelline which works but does not take it all off and now I am currently using Aveda. Which works OK.. but I feel like I have to soak the cotton ball and let it sit on my eye. I do not wear alot of make-up just eye liner and mascara and my mascara is not water proof either. I have sensitive eyes and I do wear contacts. So I want the make up completely off my eyes when I go to bed.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
THanks!

There's probably all sorts of reasons why you shouldn't use it, but I use good old fashioned Vaseline to take off my eye makeup. Nothing I've tried takes it off so easily and I think it helps to keep the skin around my eyes moisturized.

Eye makeup remover...
I use Clinique's eye makeup remover. I think it works much better than the drugstore brands. I have tried Almay, Mabeline, etc... and they do not work on me at all. I wear contacts as well so I avoid removers that are oil based. I've heard vaseline works good, but I've been afraid to use it because of my contact lenses. I suppose it wouldn't be too bad if you took your contacts out first and made sure the vaseline does not get into the eye at all.

Ryan : I wear eye liner and occasionally mascara, but I use Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing towelettes ( in the blue packaging) to take off my eye and face makeup.
I have pretty sensitive skin and I have never broken out from these wipes. You may have to go over each eye gently a few times if you wear alot of mascara, but the cloth is pre- moistened and very soft.

I use Dior's Cleansing Water for Eyes and Face (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P109407&searchString=dior%20cleansing%20water) as my makeup remover. I wear eye makeup every day (the whole shebang -- mascara, liner and shadow) and it gets everything off. Even my heavy duty waterproof mascara. They also make a regular makeup remover (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P196036&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=1073), but I've never tried it out.
Thanks ladies... I am going to try some of these ideas...
AM-81 Funny you should mention Dior because I use their "blackout" mascara which I love and that is one I am having issues with. Do you use their mascara as well?
am_81
03-05-2008, 03:13 PM
Yup, I use the DiorShow (both waterproof and regular) and the Blackout mascaras and the cleansing water works on both. Sometimes I have to wipe a couple more times than I do with regular mascara, but it comes off.

I use waterproof diorshow and soap and water + my moisturizer (kiehl's spf 15) takes it off. FWIW.
Update: So I went to Sephora to get Dior eye make-up remover and they did not have it BUT they did highly recommend "Make-Up Forever" eye make-up remover. So I will go home tonight and use it and will give you feedback..:)
Thanks again ladies!
Ok ladies so I used the "Make-up Forever".. and it worked beautifully!!!! Put the lotion on the cotton, rest it on your eye for a sec and poof gone! So thank you for all your help!!!!

I have Aussie Catch the Wave Mousse + Leave-in Conditioner. It's lightweight and fights frizz and gives waves definition and volume! It's only a few bucks, too, so it's totally worth a try.

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but if not, here it is. I love Aquaphor lip balm/lip treatment. Currently, I've been battling chapped lips and some sort of allergy to most lipsticks and this is the only thing that has even remotely helped. I keep tubes of it in my purse, next to the bed and in pretty much all clothing pockets.

I've used Laura Mercier translucent face powder as my only makeup powder for years. I'm trying to conserve and cut back in all areas and I need to replace my powder.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a great translucent face powder that is not from the department store? Any great store brands options out there?
Thanks in advance.
