Anyone have a Sunsetter Awning? We are looking for some coverage for our westerly facing deck. Its small, only about 12 x 12, but we haven't used it much because its too darn hot. I got an estimate on an awning that you have a frame built. It stays up but you put up the canvas in the spring and take it down in the fall. It was $2900. The sunsetter was under $1000.

We also considered one of those gazebo things from Target but I know it would never make the summer.

Would you recommend a sunsetter?

We just had a sunesta awning installed yesterday. We didn't go with sunsetter b/c we needed a 13' projection. Ours is 15' x 13'. It was much more expensive than the price you were quoted. We added a remote and motor. I can't wait to use it this summer!

Yikes. Those prices were too high. I just want a little shade. I decided to sock away my awning money (I had saved about $2500) and just buy a cheap sunshade for the season. Its less than a $100 so I won't be too upset if it doesn't work out.

Here's which one I picked.

Also, I looked at it this morning and it was $79.97. When I ordered it this afternoon, it was $69.97. Good for me!:)
