I went to my doctor the other day and got the "official" word that we are finally pg. He did a sonogram and sent me for blood work. At first he thought I was 9 weeks since I haven't had AF since May, but I have PCOS and frequently skip months. When he did the sonogram it showed that I was 4 weeks 5 days. That was two days ago.

He called yesterday and said he wanted me to do blood work again today. He said my progesterone was high, which I knew from the extra hair growth I've been having. But he also said my other numbers were good just that they didn't match up to what he saw on the sonogram, that he should be seeing more. He said my other numbers were higher than what they should be for what the sonogram is showing.

Does anyone know what this means? I have to go back on Thursday for another sonogram. I didn't think to ask him since I was a little shocked when he said that. And he was literally walking out the door when he called so I couldn't call back.

Just trying to see if I can put myself at ease here or if it could mean something not good.

Thanks for any info!

Well, it could be that the ultrasound showed you weren't as far along as your hCG levels (the bloodwork) would suggest (or vice-versa). The repeat bloodwork will tell him if your levels are rising appropriately--typically they should at least double every 48 hours--and help him date the pregnancy. The repeat ultrasound next week is another tool in the pregnancy dating, and he'll be looking for new signs that the pregnancy is growing appropriately, like a gestational sac or seeing the heartbeat.

Good luck.

Could you be pregnant with twins and he might have missed a baby or something like that? Meaning that you really are only 4w5d along but your hormone levels would be higher because of more than one baby.

Thanks for your responses girls. I have been a little nervous- but trying to think positive, trying to think that it is part of it. I know he his confused because my last AF was in May- so I think that is throwing him off.

Lolavix - Twins? Oh boy! You don't know how many people in the past two days told us we are having twins or triplets. Even his grandmother said triplets- and you know when grandma speaks.......

Now I am very anxious for Thursdays appoinment. Will let you all know what happens.
