when did you schedule your final walk thru?

just curious when you did your final walk thru of the house before closing?

we are closing at noon time. we can do our walk thru that morning. or else we can do it the night before. if we do it the night before, dh can't come since he has a late class that night. the sellers aren't moving out until 2 days prior to closing, and they have a cleaning crew (including junk removal) coming the next morning. so i'm just trying to figure out when i should do the walk thru.

Hmm. I think that DH did a walk through in the afternoon the day before we were closing in the morning. I didn't go b/c I worked. The house was vacant when we bought it, so he was really just making sure the repairs were up done properly as requested.

I think I would want it as absolutely close to closing time if there were sellers in it, though. Just to make sure they didn't trash it or leave a huge mess.

We went over to the house just before we went to the closing appointment. I think going the same day is a really good idea. That way if there is anything wrong you can bring it up at the closing and/or rescheudle the closing.

We did a walk-through a few days before closing, and then we drove by and peeked in windows the day before closing.

The house was vacant and the previous owners were long gone to another state, so I wasn't that worried. There also wasn't any electricity, gas, or water service, so I wasn't worried about things like a pipe bursting or the house catching on fire.

We did our walk through one hour prior to closing. The previous owners were completely moved out the day before.

we're closing on a monday and will have the walk through either on saturday or sunday. if there is anything that needs to be fixed etc, they'd have time to get it done and won't delay closing?

We did our walk through the day before closing. They were in the process of moving her out, since she had to be out by 5pm the next day. So, it was pretty hectic, but I think it's best to do it as close to closing as possible. Either the day before or the day of. You want to make sure they've done everything they were supposed to do and if it's occupied you want to make sure there aren't any surprises hidden by furniture.
