We live in a split level 1800sf house with a two car garage which has 1/2 brick on the front side only. We are waiting to get bids back from painters. If you've had your house painted can you give me an idea of the final cost and size of your house?
I'm just trying to be prepared for sticker shock, I have NO idea how much this should cost us.

We have a 50's split level, half siding half brick (but it was already painted). I want to paint just the masonry bottom half. I have contacted at least 10 painters for estimates so far but no one calls me back! This may end up being my summer project this year.
The folks across the street had theirs done last year (whole house, one car attached garage) and it cost about $3000.

We had our house painted a few summers ago...Our house is 2800sf with a detached garage and a really tall roof pitch and tons of wood windows. We had a three color paint scheme, one color for the base of the house, and two colors of trim and it was about $3500
We actually found a professional painter who worked for a painting company but painted extra houses in his spare time and so we got a really good deal. I'm sure it would be a lot more now.

Thanks ladies! We have received three bids ranging from $1,800-$2,800 so DH is asking some questions and I'm going to let him make the final decision. Thanks for the info though at least we know we're not getting taken.
