What exactly is a garden home? I *think* it is just a house with a teeny backyard, but I can't really find any good definitions online. Thanks!

Interesting. I've heard it used to describe apartments and flats that are on ground level.

I think I've heard this used as a term for single-family detached homes where the ownership of the property is set up more like a condo, where the owner doesn't do any of the outdoor maintenance and the owners association maintains the property. This is very common for age-restricted (55 and over) communities.
I have heard the term garden apartment used as HB explained.

I've understood it to mean the same thing as young_lioness.
And, all garden homes I've ever seen have a teensy tiny yard.

The one I am looking at does have TINY backyards, no fences. I wouldn't mind someone else taking care of the front!
Thanks :)
My home is characterized as a Garden home. The landscaping is all taken care of by the HOA. The backyard is also extremely small.

A garden home is exactly that.. where the yard is typically small enough to be a small garden. The walls of one side is generally the property line and there is generally a HOA. I am a real estate broker.. let me know if you need any otehr questions answered
