Are there any kids counting videos that go past 20? We have Richard Scarry's Best Counting Video Ever and we love it - DD learned to count from 10 to 20 with only watching it 3-4 times. It has good repetition, etc. But she's struggling past 20.

Anyone know of any kids videos for counting higher?

I've never seen the video, but the book chicka chicka 123 goes up to 100. We don't have that video, but some of the other scholastic videos, and they're good.

I guess struggling wasn't the right word... she only tried it a few times that I heard, she'd just go from twenty back to one or to seven... eight... I'm not pushing her at all, just thought she might be interested to see what really does come after twenty. :)

Thanks for the reply though, Linda - I do know what you mean!!

Emily, we have Chicka Chick Boom Boom book and video and DD LOVES them. The video has such a catchy tune. I think I'll look into the 1-2-3 video, even though it looks like it counts to 10 and then goes by 10s up to 100. That's better than nothing though!

Thanks again for your replies. I think a 1-100 video would be too long or someone would have made it already. :)

I think what she is doing so far is awesome! I have Kindergarteners in my class who can't count that well. Give your DD a gold star me from me! ;)

Anyone know how high "Sesame Street - 1 2 3 Count With Me" goes? I'm guessing 10?

Just kidding. We have 4 little ones who are going to be learning to count though. We don't do much at all for videos or TV, so when I buy one I am very choosy about it. Counting to me just seems like a repitition things that they have to hear a lot to learn, perfect for a video.

Math Circus by Leap Frog counts from 1-20 by ones and then by 10's to 100, if I remember correctly. We have not watched it in awhile. The whole Leap Frog series of video/dvd's has worked great for us. The songs really seem to help DS learn and remember things.

But I would not worry too much if she is not getting it yet. Apparently DS classmates, ages 4-5.5 and his teacher were all very impressed when he counted to 100 for them one day. He is the youngest in the class and most of them can't count that high yet. I think, for us, learning to count by 10's first and then to 100 worked well. That way DS learned the names for each of the "sets of 10" and then figured out the pattern of repeating the 1-9 in each set, if that makes sense.

That does make a lot of sense. Don't know why I didn't realize that. She can count through the 30's if I just give her a hint on the word "thirty". And then she is SOOO HAPPY. Something about counting is extremely satisfying for kids this age.

Thanks, Renrel. I think I'll get one of the counting by 10's videos.
