Hi Ladies, I was diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia. The dr has prescribed iron tablets. Does anyone have this (sorry bad grammar ) and what types of pills, multivitamins are you taken that can be purchased over the counter?

Feosol is a pretty good brand and not too expensive. They have several formulations, including a timed release caplet. The timed release caplet is a little more expensive, but I preferred it as the regular ones made me feel naseous.

I'm currently lactating so I'm taking a prenatal multi and the Target version of Feosol.

In the past I've taken a regular multivitamin (Target brand, IIRC), or, when my anemia was really bad, the multi plus Feosol (or Target brand "Feosol").

I have anemia and currently am taking Chromagen, but my levels are still showing up low, so the doctors are talking about adjusting it.

Many people don't like to take iron pills because it makes them constipated. I would drink lots of water and make sure you get your fiber in as well.

The Feosol pills also tore my stomach UP! I always made sure to take them with food or I would have serious cramping and nausea.
